First Time Fishing Seal Beach | And My First Hali!
Переглядів 3,9 тис.4 місяці тому
Hello all. Well it's been a while since I've uploaded a video. Truth is, I've just been going out fishing and not worrying about filming. Anyway, I decided to try my luck out in the salt. This was my first time here and though finding parking was horrendous, it still ended up as a good day. Thank you for watching and tight lines!
Fishing Marina Del Rey Bait Dock And My First Spottie!!!
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Рік тому
Fished Marina Del Rey bait dock for the first time for about 2hrs today. Fishing was slow, but it was probably due to all the sea lions patrolling the area and scaring away the fishes. I started out fishing fresh dead bait (should've been live), but quickly grew tired of the sea lions stealing the bait from the hook. Ended up switching to a 2.5" Keitech. All in all, I enjoyed being out there. A...

Hello all. This was a late upload, I know. Well, I fished another Urban Angler Club tournament, which took place at Santa Fe Dam. It started off a little wet in the morning, but the rain eventually stopped. Unfortunately, the bite also stopped around the same time. Congratulations to all the winners. First Time Fishing Santa Fe Dam
Переглядів 1,3 тис.Рік тому
Hello everyone. I decided to fish Santa Fe Dam on 6/3/23. This was my first time fishing at this lake, so I didn't know what to expect. Started out throwing reaction baits for a while, but eventually ended up finishing up with a dropshot.
Springtime Bassin' | Lake Perris
Переглядів 139Рік тому
This is just a short video fishing the Urban Angler Club tournament at Lake Perris. I was having some technical difficulties with the Gopros on this day. Well anyway, I decided to take a gamble and fish a different part of the lake. Unfortunately, it didn't pan out as I was hoping. #kistlerrods
Short Session Fishing Lake Perris
Переглядів 703Рік тому
Today I decided to head over to Perris and fish an area that I don't fish too often. Water clarity was good with visibility down to 10ft. Water temp ranged between 58⁰ - 60⁰F. #kistlerrods

What’s the legal size to keep?
Halibut is 22"
You need a license to fishing there ?
Yes, you do.
Where did you park for the ballast point spot?
I parked in the Ballast Point parking lot. You only have a three hour limit, though.
Hi there, how's parking? Metered? Thank you for sharing
Hi. Parking is free, but kinda limited.
What kind and size hook?
For Carolina Rigging the 2" Berkley sandworms, I use size 6 Owner mosquito hooks.
The fish you're asking what it was is a sculpin fish, very good eating one of the best
I fish there amd throw for big fish woth my bg 8000 reels surf rods amd 4/0 circle hook doesn’t look like pier j tho hmm think you gotta walk a little farther down I bleave
What do you fish for with that tackle?
@@socal_outdoors I throw a Caroline rig we’re the 5 ounce weight stays and the lone goes when a big fish hits it amd loosen my drag amd wait I throw a whole small squid or mackerel on there have hooked big bat rays leopards shake shovel nose sharks wat ever run on the bottom that is big but I have 65 pounds braised fishing line 5 ounce weight perymid so the bait stays amd is a little bit off the bottom I have even hoo a big sand shark off the bottom now when I fish pier I go for thresher you can catch them there to I use my surf rod throw my Sputnik’s way out send a Mack on my float let him swim out with the bobber and see what happens I fish a lot of beaches to as big fish come in to feed in small fish wjat we call a fish highways from the beach I cast over the way look for the deep throft amd deep what happens
God needs to restock the ocean. 😕
I think I just need to learn how to fish.
@@socal_outdoors I think you are fine. Just try different lures and locations and more early as fish are more active before sun up. Soon as sun comes up they go deep out of shore reach. All that's left are croaker, stingrays, and sand bass. This year was pretty difficult for inshore fisherman. If you like Mackerel, go to Huntington Beach Pier. From 5-9AM you can catch em.
@@socal_outdoors I think you are fine. Just need to try different lures and locations and techniques. Go more early, fish are more active before sun up. Soon as sun is up (which they hate) they go deeper out of our range to catch. All you are left with are stingrays, croaker, and sand bass. If you like Mackerel, go to Huntington Beach Pier between 5-9AM, they are there. If you like Perch, Huntington Beach right side of Pier beach area has them there too. Dog beach also has nice Perch. This year inshore fishing is bad everywhere and that storm from last year seem to have messed up the fish patterns. 😕 Good luck. 😊
Nice man, I’ve probably walked by you like 20 times! I fish those same spots🤙🤙🎣🎣
The 1st spot you fished at sucks. You get snagged a lot.
thay small fish is called a Salema. ive heard some people use it as bait
Thanks. I thought of using it as bait, but wasn't sure. So I let it go.
What were u using
I threw the Hookup bait for a while in the morning. Then switched to a Keitech 3.8.
what was the tide looking like when you caught those two at newport? I've been to that area at high tide but had no luck
If I remember correctly, it was about three hours before high tide (peak). I believe it was also an incoming tide.
Did you catch anything thinking about going this weekend
Nothing of any size, but at least I didn't skunk.
If a spot isn't productive in about an hour, then I say move on, so good choice leaving after no bites. Another tip is to chum when you first get there if using bait in the harbor. Then while you spend the 5 or 10 minutes setting up, tue the fish will begin to congregate (hopefully) right where you will be fishing. Oftentimes the sounds of the smaller fish feeding attracts the bigger fish nearby.
Thanks for the tip.
Disagree about the hour time. I fished the same spot from 6-8 and nothing. At 8:30 - 9:30 landed 8 fish.
How do you get to this spot in Newport?
Look up Newport jetty. Also known as the Wedge.
Walk to it!
kinda looks like Newport bay, in the begining?
@@exploringcalifornia9110the beginning is in the back bay. Yes.
The spot with jetty u can search west jetty view park
Not seal beach.. your in Alamitos bay. 72pl still considered LB side
No he’s not. He’s fishing the Seal Beach side of Anaheim Bay.
Have you gone to cabrillo beach? I'm thinking of going this weekend.
I live in Pedro but have never fished the waters..any good action there?
@@caliraisedexotics it's OK
There is a Public boat dock around the Corner that you could fish on. Just make sure to take motion sickness pills if you’re going to stay there for several hours. I learned the hard way. It rocks a lot more than boats, that’s why I never took a pill, but it messed me up
Maintenance ur reel?
I rinse them off after each trip in the salt.
@@socal_outdoors sounds loud
Bad idea to rinse in salt. Wait till you get home and rinse in regular tap water. Better is to spray with water bottle to not force salt or debris into the reel then wipe with soft cloth. I actually use ceramic car spray on my reels. 😊
@@SweetaccordSorry, I worded that wrong. I meant to say that I rinse my gear in fresh water after each trip when I fish saltwater.
@@socal_outdoors OH! That's much better! 👍
Awesome video brother 🤙
Thanks 👍
Thanks
Oh wow, that area brought back some memories from when I was a kid. Dad caught 2 big halibut on a chrome crocodile from the same general area. Thanks for sharing!
Is this spot only carch n release?
The first spot, maybe. But I'm not 100% sure on that.
There’s a size limit to most ocean fish.
You can keep the fish in both spots as long as they are of legal size. Most of the time there isn't much worth keeping. LOL Almost always under size. If you want to keep something you can go for perches.
put those fish on a big hook and let it swim. The big monster will eat it😂
it's almost like a Mudsucker but it's called a Bull Head . Great bait for the Striped Bass☝🤘😎
Nice. *Brotha~~.*
Hello *Brotha,* *I, I, I, I, I* would like to see some *_Catch, Clean, Cook, and Eat_* videos at some point. *Gracias~~~*
😮😮😮
Cool
I used to catch bonita and barracudas there at 4am
Where's the pier
It was to the left of me. I had no luck fishing off of it.
OG spot
Can you switch the handel on your reel, unless your left handed? Good times😊
I’m right handed but I do the same to all my spinning reels to be consistent with my baitcasters. I primary use baitcasters so I hate reeling spinning reels with my left hand.
My friends go there all the time and only thing they catch is a hangover
What size line are you using?
On the spinning setup, I'm using 20lb braid with 8 or 10lb test fluoro leader My baitcasting setup has 30lb braid and 12lb fluoro leader because that's all I had.
I go there once in a while. Almost always come out empty handed 😅
those alijoz reels are pretty good for the price.. i like catching bonito and calicos at the island with it
I'm a Shimano fanboy, but just picked up this Alijoz because I found it on Amazon on sale. Though I haven't caught any fish on it yet, I was surprised at how well it performed. Especially for the price.
Are you using a Carolina rig?
Yes. The Carolina rig has been the most productive technique for me so far. Instead of a swivel, though, I use a Carolina keeper. This allows me to quickly adjust the leader length if I have to.
@@socal_outdoors i noticed the keeper on the spinning rod.. can you tell me more on the string.. same on the other rod..
that was a Specklefin midshipman
Thanks.
I found you
Thanks. I found your insta. Good seeing you out there.
Nice sesh.
Thanks. A coworker told me about this beach. I'm trying to do more fishing in the salt.
Pretty common
What transducer it come with, thanks
It came with the GT52 transducer
Awesome thanks bro. Was trying to figure out how to change colors. Tight lines from Florida!
I never knew there was Bass in there , just a Trout pond i thought ,,
Nice! I was fishing there the same day you were fishin. Me, my bro, and homie at the end of the vid lol. I’m the one in the black shirt walking towards them.
How do you get there? Do you pay to fish on the dock?
Google Marina Del Rey Sportfishing. It's $4 to park for 4hrs. Then $10 for 3hrs to fish on the dock.
😭😭😭I WANT TO GO FISHING😭😭OFF HB PIER😭😭😭
Caught a nice surf perch using a sand crab high tide was coming in about 7am 10 days ago.
Going there tomorrow morning
Cool. Tight lines
