🇬🇧 A Ukrainian left a comment on my post yesterday. It was just a repost from someone else’s account (Thank you to @sucrer_patisserie for the amazing photo!😊), so I was surprised to get such a nice comment.
I replied to her comment, and some time later, I clicked on her profile picture, since I like to read random stories-but guess what? She didn’t tag me, so I had no clue, but my post was shared with a beautiful message in her story! The screenshots of her story and our comments can be found in the photos.
💙💛It truly shows that a small act of kindness can matter. I uploaded a post to support Ukrainians, but it feels like I’m being supported by them. It’s impressive that they never stop inspiring the world even while they’re suffering.
I began to pay attention to the Russia-Ukraine war in February thanks to @anetteprs from the beautiful country of 🇪🇪Estonia. Since March, I’ve been watching compelling reels of the Ukrainian activists (@christina_obertos, @anna_obertos and @arthur_zgurov). They’ve been delivering messages such as “Don’t underestimate your power,” “Use your voice,” and “Keep talking.”
I agree with them and I’ve shared many posts to support Ukraine in my stories. However, I was not sure if it’d be really helpful, as my main account @coreesti is for practicing Estonian. Later, I thought it’d be nice if those posts reached more Korean speakers and learners with Korean hashtags, instead of stories that last only for a day.
That’s why I made @coreedue where I translate inspiring posts into Korean. My main goal is to reach Korean speakers in an unexpected way-using Korean hashtags unrelated to Ukraine (like 🍰cake)-in order to spread awareness about the war.
It was a surprise to see @soloden.ko’s comment since my main target audience is Korean speakers and I have only 10 followers. While I’m happy with the number 10-it’s cute, I thought it’s too small to make a change. However, now I’ve come to understand what those Ukrainian activists whom I mentioned previously meant to say. It’s true that every little bit helps! Thank you to @soloden.ko and all the Ukrainians for their inspiration! Слава Україні!💙💛

저는 2월에 아름다운 나라인 🇪🇪에스토니아 출신의 @anetteprs 덕분에 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁에 주목하기 시작했습니다. 3월부터는 우크라이나 운동가들(@christina_obertos, @anna_obertos와 @arthur_zgurov)의 강렬한 릴스를 보고 있습니다. 이들은 “당신의 힘을 과소평가하지 마세요”, “목소리를 내세요”와 “계속해서 (이 주제에 대해) 말을 꺼내세요”와 같은 메시지를 전달해오고 있습니다.
저는 이들의 말에 동의하고 우크라이나를 지지하기 위해 많은 포스트를 제 스토리에 공유해왔습니다. 하지만 제 메인 계정 @coreesti는 에스토니아어를 연습하기 위한 것이라, 이게 정말 도움이 될지 의문이 들었습니다. 추후 저는 하루 동안만 보여지는 스토리 대신, 그 게시물들이 한국어 해시태그를 통해 한국어를 쓰는 사람들과 배우는 사람들에게 도달하면 좋겠다는 생각을 했습니다.
이러한 이유로 저는 영감을 주는 포스트를 한국어로 번역해서 올리는 @coreedue를 만들었습니다. 제 주된 목표는 이 전쟁에 대해 널리 알리기 위해 우크라이나와 관련이 없는 한국어 해시태그(예: 🍰케이크)를 통해 뜻밖의 방식으로 한국어 사용자들에게 다가가는 것입니다.
