Caught the “Huntington Ave Express” responding today on my way to class. (Not a truck related video, my apologies)
7.3 powerstroke straight pipe driving
Переглядів 115 тис.7 років тому
1997 Ford F-350 XLT Diamond eye exhaust, 3 inch down pipe, 4 inch straight pipe, 5 inch tip NAPA 6637 filter on a K&N intake pipe. had a K&N filter but wasn't happy with performance. the napa filter is much better for this truck. EBPV delete no tune or chip
Best sounding and most reliable engine ever built by powerstroke or international
I went 6inc strait piping all duel's built 7.3 pushing 470hp 2000fpt
Is this 4 or 5 inch
This was a diamond eye 4” turbo back without cats or mufflers, and a 5 inch tip
So what part of it is the diamond eye part
400 subs 😎😎😎😎
♥️

I replaced mine too, with a diamond eye exhaust and now it’s driving sorta rough!? Sounds beautiful but wondering if anyone has any ideas!?
Did you tighten down the band for the up pipe at the turbo good enough? Mine loosened up a few times... but it really shouldn't matter... is it actually running rough or is it the sound of the motor? The valves get noisy through the exhaust
if you remember, what was the part number for the exhaust. and also it didn’t have a muffler or catalytic converter did it?
Just looked it up for you. I bought mine from Thoroughbred Diesel Performance. The SKU on their site is DEMK4307S-RP. The manufacturers SKU is K4307S-RP. Correct, no muffler, no catalytic converter, a true straight pipe from the turbo back. Let me know what else I can do for ya
BOX EIGHTY TWO Thank you so much man! Really appreciate it. I’ve been wanting a new exhaust for a while and this is the one.
How was the fitment on this exhaust under the truck? Easy or kinds tight?
Wow pedestrians actually stop walking when they see the rigs ready to turnout ... what a friendly city
Owney Madden only the college kids and tourists. Real Bostonians don’t seem to give a damn
Maurice Delage So over by E-42 in Roxbury they aren’t as friendly ? Im only vaguely Familiar with Boston , usually about 100 guys from my FD go up to March in the St.Paddys parade most years . I haven’t gone up in probably 10 years now.
Mission Hill/ Longwood Medical area. Still wicked busy!
Great house! Very public friendly mainly because of sidewalk traffic.
Ladder 1 had the suv
How she run with the mods you did?
great video i subbed
Alexander Loadsman’s Fire Videography thank you! I appreciate it. Check out my Instagram page, I do fire photography in the area. @box82firephotos
No other diesel sounds better than a good ole 7tree straight piped, gorgeous sound dude. I love my 2000 7.3, will never sell it, prolly gonna throw on a 4” diamond eye pretty soon, stoooookked
I got a 4 inch for my 97 f250 now I want a 5 with a 5 to 7 tip
Idk a 12 valve cummins sounds pretty damn good as well
only ford id ever own right here
Long live the king.
I didn’t see a 12 valve
@@josiahwilliams752 no one said anything about a 12v
@@lonestar_7.3L lol
@@josiahwilliams752 😂not gunna deny the 12v and 7.3L are equal (coming from a 7.3 guy)
L24 was covering L1.
Michaelbos Yes they were. I had noted that in the description, along with the entire incident timeline. Thanks for watching!
only complaint...its automatic, a zf-5 would make that turbo sound so much better...and it wont sneeze when you shift like some cars
wade helberg lol the auto is better hands down.
@@themrgodfather77 how manyE40D's went out behind the 7.3 compared to a zf-5..ive seen an original zf-5 that cracked the housing but not aftet 400,000 miles...you show me a factory atuo behind a stroker that wasnt replaced...by that reasoning a dodge auto is better than the standard..right? You want an old 12 valve cummins or early 24 valve mechanical...you want the stick...coincedence? i think not
wade helberg I have a factory auto and tow 10,000 pounds monthly with my powerstroke up the mountains. 240k miles I’ll post a video of it and tag your ass in it. The motor is dead stock as well besides the emissions deleted
@@themrgodfather77 there is really no emissions on 95's they have a muffler and 10k? what is that 2 cars? ive had my 94.5 f250 at 23k gcvw. you disregarded the dodge and i guess the chevy, dodge had their own but chevy used a zf
wade helberg it’s a 6.4 powerstroke I have. I’ve never had anything other then my fluid changed. I do all the maintenance myself
Oh shit I caught engine 8 the same day
New England Emergency Response Photography I heard they had a good fire today right in their first due. Woulda loved to see that one. Box 1234 I think, 470 Commercial street. Heard they had fire from the second floor on arrival.
Everything you said is correct
I caught engine 10 tower 3 and the rescue Responding from training in Southie to this box
It’s been awhile though you stopped posting. When you gonna make truck vids ?
OBS Powerstroke been pretty busy lately, what would you like to see for a video?
Was it popular for people to straight pipe their diesel trucks back 20+ years ago?
Lazarus Magellan I wasn't around then so I'm not sure. I have watched many videos on UA-cam from like 2009, 10+ years ago with old trucks just like this that looked to be straight piped for a while. So yes I imagine so. They've been putting straight pipes on trailer trucks since the 1960s, so I imagine it was common with these too.
oh thats awesome.
I’m looking for 7.3’s and 1st/2nd gen cummins trucks. Any tips
Yes
@@lazarusmagellan2367 Yes. If you get a second gen Dodge Cummins, make sure it is a manual and not an automatic!😁
Thank God...just bought one and thought it was missing for a bit...sounds just like this though I have a 4 inch straight, bellowed up pipes and upgraded turbo wheel...but mine smokes like a chimney taking off...black smoke even on stock setting
Charles Kimble - interesting. Does it have upgraded injectors? Mine only smokes very little in the summer. I have the stock fuel system
@@boxeightytwo8 the guy said they were stock but he may have been lying lol
What’s a ebpv delete?
if it is what im thinking of that is on my 94.5...it stands for exhaust pressure valve?...it helps the engine warm up when its cold outside..if you let off the go pedal you can feel the truck slow down from how much it restricts the flow of exhaust...almost like an exhaust brake
Sounds good. I straight piped mine. I noticed on your startup it has a little clack with the idle. Mine does too, was just wondering if it was normal
Definitely not normal bro That means that the truck will probably only last 900k miles instead of the usual 1 million
when you can hear the turbo at idle you know it's gunna be a good fucking day!
That's pretty quiet really. My 7.3 is straight piped and is quiet a bit louder but in person your truck probably is to. Clean!!
Pour Boys is your 7.3 an IDI? the turbo on a 7.3 powerstroke (and any other turbo car) acts as a muffler and makes it quieter. on an IDI where there is no turbo, they’re extremely loud
Yeah but the turbo is sexy
@@boxeightytwo8 makes me want to cut the pipe off my idi for shits and giggles. Came here to hear what my power stroke would sound like but now I'm curious about the other.lol
that sounds great!
Yea I've heard that from a couple of Buddy's and they said it was a pain just to get the old downpipe out. I'm going to see what all the fus is really about when I take on that challenge myself.Where did you get your exhaust system?
Werewolf By Blood i got mine from Thoroughbred Diesel
Werewolf By Blood diamond eye is about the only way to go with these
I'm not sure about the obs but on the 99-03 model, you have to rotate the pipe about 45 degrees and then start fiddling with it to get the pipe out. It really isnt hard to do
I’ve owned mine since new. Put mine on shortly there after. One pc. 3” Down pipe and that’s the way we liked It! 🥸 26 years old raised 3 kids and she’s still going strong! I pulled 13000 down to Baton Rouge this last weekend. 520 miles. We’ve always called her Big Momma. (Crew cab long wheelbase dually, before it was cool) She got a new name down there. I pulled into a station to fuel up, and was greeted by an elderly black Cajun gentleman, bout 5’ tall, 120 pounds, no front teeth, red solo cup about 1/2 full of something he was really enjoying. He screamed across the sound of Momma idling, “Ole Black Betty! BAMBALAM!!!! Im in love!” I almost fell over. 🤣 Now I have to buy a tag that says “Ole Black Betty”
Do you know the manufacturer of your flat bed?
Steven Odom I don’t have a flatbed, it’s the stock bed
What kind of downpipe are you running? 3 or 4 inch?
Werewolf By Blood 3 inch. on the OBS 7.3s the firewall is very tight against the bell housing and a 4inch downpipe will only fit if you do a body lift.
Love e ones.
How bad is the drone on the highway?
Its really not all that bad. I found that it really depends on a few different variables. If you cut the pipe too short, the exhaust will echo into the bed causing some pretty bad drone. Also if you have any kind of bed cap / camper shell it gets really bad too. Other than that, its really not bad
