If they are late into Perth, then they end up being late out of Perth. SCT can only strip and reload one train at a time.

Aurizon and Pacific National normally change crews here. And most of the time a local crew takes if from Parkeston to West Kalgoorlie or from West Kalgoorlie to Parkeston with the out bound crew change at Parkeston for east bounds and West Kal for west bounds. SCT are crewed through to Perth so only stop for fridge inspection and to sometimes transfer fuel.

Yes mate, mostly the east bound Pacific National freights will fuel on the loop under the canopy you see, and the occasional west bound at the other end on the main. All SCT and Aurizon trains have inline refuelling with fuel pods on a flat waggon.

Yes mate, road tanker still in use, saw it a few times. Only PN trains use the road tanker, SCT and Aurizon have inline fuelling.

Great video mate, I worked out that way yonks ago, looks very familiar used to do the run in a Waco 180B dump truck from Shay Gap crusher to Nimingarra, that was indeed a long slow drive sometimes extremely difficult to try and stay awake on night shift 🇦🇺🤙

It is all very well wiping out the town but surely the more serious issue is that the tailings in the gorge are severely eroded and being swept north into the river system and distributed across the plains by wind and rain? Also there are many iron ore mines in the Hammersley Ranges spewing dust across the whole region. Blue asbestos is through the range so presumably is being disturbed by the iron ore mining. The whole thing is sketchy.

There used to be a limit of 5000 Tonnes and 1800 mteter train length. Does that still apply. Love your videos.
1800 metres is still the length limit, but tonnage can be above that. SCT run the highest tonnage freighters ~6000 tonnes west bound, whilst the mineral sands when running it is ~9300 tonnes loaded west bound. Once those tonnages [above 6000, I think it is] are on the ARC network [WA] they are limited to 80 kph.

Yes, almost every container on Aussie rail is domestic. Very little 'land bridging' happens over here. Linfox, CEVA and a couple of other runs some 53' containers, usually for car transport.
