Conditions were harsh, with stone floors, no heating, and various rooms/spaces for punishment, slave-labor, and execution. In 2010, residents were forced to abandon their homes in Seoul's district of Jichuk to make way for modern residential complexes. What was essentially a village of small, traditional-style dwellings, became a ghost town. Residents had left behind many belongings, including many cats. Many cats were roaming around the streets and abandoned houses. I was able to enter all of the houses to see the...

We had tree baby seagulls living on our roof.two of them died withing their first week in life... The third one is still alive and has left the roof to become a young adult. Watching this film makes me happy. I've become to love this noisy little fellas. All you want to do is to bath them, kiss them, love them, feed them and fluff them up. But you can't... Because that would ruin everything. You'd get flees and diseases, you'd ruin the seagull parenting routines and you could probably break the law as well.

@@soggymoggytravels Youths of Moroccan descent of the 3th generation and on, all of them born in the Netherlands, living in underprivileged neighbourhoods in Heerlen that are known to behave antisocially, operating in groups and cause problems in Heerlen and surroundings from time to time. Often in Heerlen nightlife too. Their fathers came as guest laborers to the Netherlands in the early 1960's. You actually write it as ''Marokkaantjes'' and not ''mokaantjes'' (this guy cannot write properly). It's kind of a derogatory slang term commonly used by native-born Dutch people to designate this particular group, mostly after something negative appears about this particular group of people again in Dutch media. Especially sinds the early 2000's. Problems that have always existed with this group in Dutch society deteriorated after 9/11 and the assasination of the Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh by a young religious Moroccan in the early 2000's

@@soggymoggytravels Don't know how much time you spent in Heerlen/rest of the Netherlands most recently, but you have to be like living in the Netherlands for at least a couple of years to start noticing those kind of things. And, moreover, be aware of what happened in the Netherlands in the past decades. ''The Netherlands is very multicultural overall, though.'' Yeah, well, that's what Dutch native-born people always like to tell the rest of the world. It's like one of their 2 biggest advertisement billboards for their country. People from other Western countries, like the USA, Germany etc. pass virtually unnoticed and integrate well into Dutch culture, never heard of any problems with Chinese/other Asian people in the Netherlands either. People from South and Central America have become hugely popular with the Dutch over the past 20 years since our present King married an Argentinian woman in 2002 so there are no problems whatsoever between the Dutch and those no matter what the influx may be. However, there are actually still problems between the Dutch and migrants from some islands in the Caribbean (Aruba, Curacao, Saint Maarten etc.) that once used to be Dutch colonies. Those people have been living here for almost 50 years now and are still, along with the Moroccans/other Muslim minorities, still at the bottom of the acceptance ranking...
