Jah Life is a legendary figure in reggae as was discussed in "Jah Life: ‘Dem keep out me and Scientist out of everything. And it’s not them who made all this music possible.’ (The Interview: Part 1)."
In this second part of my historic interview of Jamaican and New York City producer and record label owner, Jah Life-really an epic reasoning-the most comprehensive one that exists so far about Jah Life’s enormous contribution to music globally, we pick up right where we left off: with additional discussion of Jah Life’s complex relationships with producer Henry "Junjo" Lawes, star singers Barrington Levy and Sister Carol, as well as, of course, the legendary sound engineer and dub pioneer, Hopeton Brown-better known by his world famous stage name: "Scientist."
Scientist was on the phone and participated in this second portion of my interview of Jah Life-just as he did in Part 1.
Additionally-of interest to reggae fans everywhere-Jah Life discusses some of his favorite musicians to work with and studios to record in. Finally, Jah Life offers some final words concerning how he would like his legacy in the reggae industry to be remembered.
