this is cool. what did you use for a fire effect in the barrel. i just getting started making two cannons for props in my son’s marching band competition
Can you explain in layman's terms step by step what it consists of,.. to make them function and re-coil... Thanks alot
I've always wanted to make one But don't have the instructions 😅
God bless you Todd you and your family your kindness and wanting to make others happy 😊
Probably the best i have seen! Thanks for sharing.
Great Job! love your stuff, and thanks for the DIY vids as they really motivate me to try animatronics at our Pirate Halloween display in central California. Maybe next year I'll get some going.
We're doing this. SO cool
Pirates of the Pandemic lol ❤.
It's a shame all that detal is hidden from the street view
Awesome idea, however, either hold your phone still and not move it so fast, or have someone else video you explaining what you are doing, Thank you,
Anyone tell me what type of roller those are?
I used 1/2 PVC pipe on a woodscrew.
Can you share with me how you did the canons? We would love to do this here in Florida
Where can I find that audio??
For this show? or the POTC ride?
Hey Todd... EXCELLENT job! I love the vibe and the smoothness of the motion. 🙂
Sub!!! Love how passionate you are about the project. I'm going to get the supplies and start this weekend with the kids. So awesome!!! Ty
Great tutorial 👻
Whoa this is incredible!

What kind of rod did you use in larry?
1/4" steel rod from HD
Yeah it only came back bc you took the air away from it so how do you do it when it’s hooked up to a air line
you will need a solenoid valve
WOW! I love the immense size, and I salute you for the dedication to craft, bravo! I once built a pirate ship on a much smaller scale - in my 9 x 12ft office at work. Here’s mine, from concept to build, to final product. Thanks for the instructions. Made two of my own. Saved me a couple hundred dollars
Great video That gave me great idea 💡 thanks And happy haunting
Thanks for the video! Did this exactly what you showed and my cannon came out perfect!
Where did you get the parrot?

Thanks for the info! Gonna give this a go!
Nice! What about an animatronic seagull like the one that sits ontop of the pirate skeleton and moves it’s head and chirps?
Can you show us the final outcome after you connected a computer to it?
Wow...😁
This is so awesome! Best pirate ship build I’ve seen! We are thinking about doing a Pirates theme this year. What were the dimensions of your ship? Do you know how much foam board you ended up using??
43' long 6' wide and 6-8' height, about 20 1' foam boards
@@ToddWood Thank you! You guys did an amazing job!!
You sir, are my hero.
Very clever! That's the best-hidden motion sensor, and your use of the clock motor on the time-set dial to turn the hands bacwards was genius.
What did you do exactly to weatherproof it?
Very cool Todd!
There is one major flaw with this display… It is NOT in my yard!!! LOL. SERIOUSLY, This is AMAZING! I have wanted to do a Pirate Theme for a couple of years and been thinking about how to do it. This is how it is supposed to be done. How long did it take to construct and setup this display? How long to program the lighting and sound? Did you use LOR exclusively or mixed systems? What components did you use? What animatronics did you use? Off the self or DIY. If you had it do all over again what you change. Is this or something like it what you do for a living? Thanks for sharing!
WOW! This is incredible. My hat is off to to you sir! We have been thinking about a pirate theme for a couple of years. How long did it take to make the ship structure. What was the total expense of doing this? Where are y’all located ?
I never ask those kind of questions, but the foam was $23 each x 20 boards and the 2x3 were $4.50 x 15 and scrap for everything else, and LOTS of expandfoam
I’m sure the kids think you are the coolest neighbor, Ever!
Awesome work.. Love it
Love the cannons. I keep wanting to upgrade mine to recoil too.
Outstanding job. Looks fantastic.
WOW WOW WOW! AMAZING! I’m one of the lead sculptors/designers at Walt Disney Imagineering and I have to say that this display just BLEW MY MIND! Haha! Unbelievable work you guys, just absolutely beautiful! I would kill to come visit you guys and see this, may I ask where you are located! You win!🎃👍😍
Santa Clara Ut., and thank you very much, we could not go to Disney due to Covid, so we brought it here...
Excellent work. The design and execution are amazing.
Awesome!
How did you do the eye and mouth at the same time? I had to make the eye move with a fish string pulled by an exrernal motor, or ill try using the motion of a wing that pulls the string.
The motor that runs the mouth also runs the eyes, reverse the voltage on the mouth motor and it will blink the eyes, I used two relays for this to swap the +/- to the motor, Blue/Purple wires from the main circuit board.
Is there an address? Would love to check it out this year!
Santa Clara Ut.
Wow! Looks like just moving it was a huge project.
This is a great video for a Popup Coffin with multi pneumatics. One thing I am not sure of is weather you are using the timer to control both the lid and Claudia, (to stagger/time open/close of both vs one)? I have that timer but not able to get it to do both - i.e. open lid first then monster, then lower monster fist then lid. Thanks!
Great one! wow! Så amazing built -and such a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
This video deserves more views.
