I was born here in the 50's back when we had real winters and snowstorms. This storm would have come and gone without anyone noticing, we called it winter time back then. Most of the people on the front range are from warmer climates like California and freak out when it snows, encouraged by the same type people in the local media weather desks. 3 feet of new snow overnight my dad would chain up the 53 Pontiac wagon and load all of us up for a great day of skiing and tubing.

Had relatives that lived in Salina. Was out there as a toddler but don't remember none of it. (Actual pronunciation has a long i btw) Kansas City is the biggest city in MO but didn't feel it when I went to see the Chiefs 2yrs ago, then again Arrowhead Stadium is pretty much almost in Independence.

I am now 77 and I grew up in Colorado Springs and lived in Arvada for awhile before my Dad got transferred to God forsaken Clovis, NM. I have lived in Houston, TX since 1980. My Dad grew up in Denver and all his family was there. We spent many, many holidays in Denver. The only time I have been to Denver in the last 40 years is for funerals. I visited my Dad for Christmas 1982, which had, at the time a record breaking snow. Take my word for it, you do not want to walk through hip deep snow to get to the airport (Stapleton at the time) because even with a 4 wheeel drive Jeep with chains, the closest I could get to the airport was almost a mile. Only to find out my flight was cancelled AFTER I called before I left my Dad’s house to verify. I still want one more trip to Colorado before I die. If I could, I would move there with the way Texas has become a Christo-GOP hell.

Hey, amazing video. I haven’t lived in Boulder in 6 years, but I used to go up and hang out in the Valmont Cemetery when I was a dumb teenager. Thank goodness me and my friends were respectful to the graves, but it was super creepy at night. Most of the people of not all on Valmont Cemetery are the original settlers of Boulder. I am not sure of where on the butte the burial sites the Arapaho used are located. I went into the mines one time with a good friend of mine, and it was very beautiful and very dangerous. Thank you for making such a well researched, interesting video to help me look back on happier days.
