Glad to see that you enjoyed the first Joker, but for me personally I just didn't get the appeal of a Joker origin story, trying to go so in depth we need an explanation for his laugh or making the character some tragic and misunderstood citizen struggling with mental disabilities

Don't know if you have read it or not, but if you enjoy X2, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend reading the original graphic novel the majority of the movie is based on, called X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills. Stryker is actually a little bit scarier in the book, because rather than someone in a military power, he's part of a religious group called The Purifiers and is a reverend than a Colonel, with a twisted worldview that the existence of mutants is an affront to the will of God, therefore mutants are evil abominations. Wolverine is still there, but not a massive part. Does amazing work with the characters of Magneto, Nightcrawler and Kitty Pryde especially

What Michael Keaton does so well in his performance of Batman is he is one of the few actors who shows that this is kind of a mentally unstable individual to a degree. Might seem like an odd thing to praise, but keep in mind that this is a character that is a multi billionaire who dresses up in skintight leather and a cape to go out at night to fight psychotic clown serial killers and evil circus troupes
