I have a very wide array of interests and hobbies, including but not limited to: brazilian jiu jitsu, horseback riding, makeup, and weightlifting. I recently started learning how to read tarot cards, too! I sometimes upload videos that are related to grad school, as I am a 5th year PhD student at Arizona State University.
A few more details... I am a blue belt in BJJ, and I have been riding horses for almost 20 years! I started dabbling in makeup in 2018, and have been hooked ever since. Lastly, I used to do Crossfit/weight-lift for over five years, but stopped at the beginning of 2019 to do jiu jitsu instead. My research investigates how animals physiologically cope with environmental resource limitations. My channel reflects this and has a little bit of everything!

First tournament as a purple belt!

Yesterday I competed for the first time as a purple belt. Unfortunately, I didn't take home the W. On the bright side, I was able to hit a few of the goals I set for myself. I actually was even winning for the first half of the match! But then around the 4 minute mark it all went downhill with the final score being 13-3. Learned a lot from this match and I'm looking forward to the next tournament.

Feb 2023. Featherweight division final. Score 0-0 lost by two advantages 😭 and made lots of silly mistakes like thinking the match was stopped, listening to my coach while forgetting to pay attention to the match, couldn't get my hooks in to take the back, etc. This was by far my most frustrating match!

Here is a short tour of Fireball's enclosure. I received it from a friend who originally had it custom built for her rhinoceros iguana. I actually redesigned the whole thing last week so it doesn't even look like this anymore 🤦🏼♀️ but I did have it this way for about 8 months.

Hey Jill! Have you tried putting your colored powder just over your spots directly after you put on your primer? Jackie aina talked about this technique. 1) Primer 2) colored or translucent powder 3) tinted spf, concealer, moisturizer or foundation 4) translucent powder. The colored powder directly on top of the primer helps reduce discoloration/redness and helps keeps your oils from seeping through as much as well so the primer, powder, spot concealer, powder method might work well for you! I don't have a skin picking issue but I do struggle with hyperpigmentation sometimes so I use this method for extra cover until it clears up! 😊

That skin is not ready to come off yet it hurts
Unless you've had a iguana dont believe this is ok!! A lot of that skin was NOT ready to come off! Also he should have been misted or soaked in the tub BEFORE attempting to "help" him shed! You don't need a kitchen scrub brush to rub or clean him off !! Use a soft toothbrush, that is all you need. I know these things because I had my green iguana Miss Iggie LaLa from 6mths old until she passed away at 21 & 1/2 yrs. So yes if I come across harsh it's because I know how to properly care for a iguana ! You have to research, read & get enough knowledge BEFORE getting one. There's 110~120 teeth & a tail with spikes that can slice you open‼️ Think of this before you get one they're so cute when tiny but they get big & are High maintenance ! ITS NOT a MATTER of "IF" you get BIT. or WHIPPED....... ITS a MATTER of "WHEN" you get BIT or WHIPPED.. 😮

I have choked out training partners, and in my last tournament my submission was via triangle choke. Never put anyone to sleep although I myself have been put to sleep once during training😅

Do you know if they kept you in the choke for a while after you had gone to sleep (if they didn't realize you were passed out?) Did they say like if you were asleep for a little while or did you wake right up after? hopefully next time you can maybe put your opponent to sleep instead of that happening to you! 😊
@@ejta12222 It happened really fast! She had me in a front collar choke and it didn't seem too tight, so I was fighting it. Next thing I knew, I was lying down and didn't know where I was anymore 😂🙈 It was a total accident. My partner immediately stopped the choke and sat by me til I woke up and made sure I was okay. I was only out for a few seconds but I honestly had no idea where I was at first when I woke up!

Thank you for creating these makeup videos! As a dermatillomania sufferer, it can feel so overwhelming trying to put on makeup and enjoying the process when my skin is a disaster. I love Pokemon too! I love that deck. I might have to pick that one up and the other one that was super cute but you said the cards are off centered (can't remember the name). I love Game of Thrones too but I'm not really drawn to those decks for practical use but I think they would be super neat to have in a collection.

@@brittnicbee They do feel AMAZING. It's a bummer about the cards not being quality checked before printing/shipping especially since they aren't cheap. Maybe she has fixed the issue in reprinted editions.
Glad someone said it about Juvia's Place! Their lipsticks are so nice but those eyeshadows are NOT it. Mediocre at best. I have soooo many eyeshadows that work way better with less work. Beauty youtube definitely lied to me there. All of the palettes have the same formula too so I'm done buying their eyeshadows. Again, same preferences as you 😂
It's so crazy, everyone on UA-cam seems to be obsessed with the Juvia's Place formula but I've honestly never found it that impressive. I still have the Tribe and the Festival palettes, but they are super close to going into my next declutter.

@@brittnicbee I love your comments! I think it's so interesting how we have almost identical eyeshadow collections lol! I could look into doing a fitness lifestyle video. I don't have any specific workout routines anymore but I could post maybe some of my favorite exercises.
Also as far as Pat McGrath, literally do not bother! Idc what kind of brushes or application you use, they are just not worth the price and are underwhelming. I do like some of Natasha's palettes (I see you do as well) but most of them are underwhelming too, especially for the price as well. So funny we have the exact same preferences. Never seen anyone else on UA-cam so similar to my collection and preferences.
I did actually go and order a few Rephr brushes as suggested in another comment because they were all 50% off. Haven't tried them with ND or PM yet but maybe I'll make a video if there's a noticeable difference!
Omg we have the same collection! The only palettes you got rid of that I absolutely love and am NEVER decluttering were the Tammi x Revolution, Huda Beauty Mecury Retrograde and the Glamlite Ice Cream Dream palette. The only thing you don't have in your collection that I have in mine are some Oden's Eye palettes. Since we clearly have the same taste in quality and color stories, you should check then out! I think you would love their shimmers and topper shades and their mattes are so good too! Also, all of the palettes you decluttered in general I have and am never decluttering because I love them all lol. Loved this declutter though! Also love your tats! ♥️ And oh my, I see you have a tarot card collection video. Time to be nosy and see if there's anything there I don't have or want to buy! 🤣 New subscriber!
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the Tammi X Revolution palette! I definitely was not going into it with high expectations but it performed really well! I hadn't posted my Ice Cream Dream palette to my poshmark yet, and to be honest, after reading your comment I moved it back into my collection. It really is such a good palette and there's no reason to get rid of one that I do enjoy using. :) I had the Oden's Eye Norns palette that was so pretty to swatch out, but I think the lack of mattes made it hard for me to figure out cohesive eye looks, so I decluttered it. I also had the Urd palette but after using it 2-3x I just wasn't a fan. Now I have the Hela palette (Oden's Eye x Angelica Nyqvist) which I've had lots of fun with! Thanks so much for subscribing!

Yes, I actually depotted all of my Colourpop monochromatic shadows and have them in a separate Z-palette. It cleared up so much space!
