Yeah to my knowledge iPhones like the one I'm using seem to support Dolby Vision HDR for filming but I guess as soon as I export it from the video editor, the format could be different, and then yet again different once uploaded to UA-cam. I've noticed that the quality is a bit better if I skip the editing step and upload files straight from the phone haha!

oh and iPhones don't use HLG afaik.

@@weredrivinghere hlg is easier to stream, so UA-cam May transcode down to use it.

Haha! I guess subway wouldn't make a lot of sense here since trains and other public transport systems are already stellar and towns are forced by mountains into a line or a couple of parallel lines. But there's indeed lots of construction! Not just the roads - new apartment buildings are getting built in 1.5 years from an empty lot to people moving in. Land is getting increasingly expensive and each piece attracts lots of investment.

@@BadCompany115 I don’t really have a lot of experience driving with snow chains. Those are for situations where there’s a thick layer of snow on the road, and it can’t be cleaned for some reason. For example a very strong snowfall is ongoing on a dangerous mountain pass. Even then for me personally good snow tires are enough. Snow chains are a hassle and you have to drive very slowly. With winter tires, if roads are cleaned, it usually isn’t slippery - although I like to test so I know how much grip I have. But even with winter tires, when there’s a thick layer of snow like in the parking lot at the end here, it’s much easier to break traction. So knowing how much your tires can handle, and how to control a sliding car can be helpful.

@@weredrivinghere When I lived in California, we were required to carry chains in the car when we drove in the mountains in winter. The police set up check points to see if you had them if you were driving into an area with snow on the road. Luckily, I never actually had to put them on, which is not easy.

Hi, it's a 20 year old e60 530d that accidentally landed in my ownership a couple of years ago 🤣approaching 550k km. I just use winter tires and it's enough. Snow chains are for more extreme weathers and over the years I've never needed them. In Austria, only truck drivers (anything over 3.5 tonnes) are required to have them in winter. I do end up turning traction control off on half of the trips in winter when driving higher up into mountains.

The road is somewhat intimidating and I imagine things could be much more sketchy during or immediately after a snowfall. That’s when you might realistically need chains if you don’t feel very confident. Apps like bergfex can be used to check the weather/snowfall at an altitude. Even on this drive up, I had tires slipping a bit at one point (intentionally, I wanted to test t/c). My “winter” tires are m/s with the snowflake/mountain icon, so if you have dedicated proper winter tires - it will be safer. And of course thousands of hours of drifting in Assetto Corsa help with confidence when driving rwd on snowy mountain roads 😂 Happy holidays to you too!

Haha but there's no way to know as I don't have a sunroof. In the past, I've had sections of videos ruined by droplets of water on the lens. So I'd rather stop more often when it's wet 😃

Thank you! Winter tires are mandatory when there is snow on/around the road, but this also includes m/s ones with a snowflake mountain icon - which is what I have. On the way back later that evening, this road was snowed in and seriously slippery so it was easy to lose traction, in such conditions dedicated winter tires are much better.
