I used to build stretched - out Sting Ray style bikes, but I thought the Fastback StingRays were the bomb. Never did have one though.

I got a 81 -82 Schwinn predator cromo with blue seat grips and tires it’s got the a team Schwinn crank it was a good find I got the frame forks and crank for 20 bucks

Hauling newspapers it was the stuff. When an older kid was old enough to get a real job and drive. Would sell the route and bike. And you were top of the line. Great bikes

I grew up in a Schwinn shop from 67 to 85 ... i liked the orange krate better than the Raleigh Chopper... I had a blue Schwinn Fastback 5 speed ... Hot Rod bikes were so cool before the Scrambler BMX came out ... then i had a Scrambler 36 36 ... we sold Schwinn , Raleigh, Columbia, and a few other brands ,,, NO HUFFYS lol

Even just now I typed the serial number in and since a year ago they updated the google search as missing, Serial #####

To get more information on it and that they might know something of its history because the huffy man or person and know of this bike in information on this bike or story is lost

I have a rare bike from Huffy that dates 1967 and I had it found as missing in huffy history books of manufacture. Because the serial code was shorter numbers then all others even those black ones that they started with as first off the line. They said it is there’s and I got the Official Record Certificate of Registrations. I know you have a good size collection and love these bikes! They said to contact the museum of huffy or in Ohio I think but I might be wrong its been awhile.

I tried finding you on ebay but had no luck . I'm not sure if you still sell bikes or not.

How rare is a Schwinn (the sting)? What's the value ?

I've got a 70 couster brake frame pea picker. C-F # but the my code is at the back of the frame. When did they switch to the front of the frame I'm thinking maybe the letters might be C - E for a 69 please let me know?

One of my favorite memories as a 10 yr old in 1977 was going to the bike shop with my dad and getting this exact bike. It was my favorite of all the bikes I had. I rode it all the time.

As a kid I lived right down the road from a Schwinn bicycle shop. I remember this bike on the showroom floor. I wanted that bike so bad, but they were much too expensive for my parents to afford. I had a Schwinn Scrambler that was pretty decked out. Man, I loved that bike. Good times back then. Thanks for uploading. It's cool to see the Schwinn Sting is still alive and well.

I had two Brand New of them, 24 inch and a 26 inch. Both were the Schwinn Green, which I really liked. I wore one of the rear 2 speed kick back axel's out. I went to Ben's Bicycle Shop, and bought new parts for it and rebuilt it myself in my youth. The 26 inch I used on my paper route, and that kick back 2 speed really came in handy when loaded down with papers, or when riding double which we did often.

I own a pair of 65 Super Deluxe spring fork Sting-Rays, Schwinns are amazing bikes built to last for sure. Both springers have the AS style bolts right and left side as well as the AS style bolt for the seat extension bar clap so it can be said that style bolt was used till at least 65 and maybe some in 66, there are some 66 date codes with the springer front fork my guess would be carried over from 65. From what I researched 65 was the only year Schwinn used the spring fork I would interested to know if the 66 you have or had was an authentic Super Deluxe spring fork. Let me know what you find out. By the way awesome stuff really dig it, peace man!

I missed my 1968 Orange Krate I sold over 3 years ago. I bought a 1970 Orange Krate locally from a word a mouth of someone that had one hanging in their garage at a retirement community yard sale. A relative of mine asked about it and gave him my phone # and met up with the older man. He only wanted $800 but I gave him $1,000 The bike was beautifully restored to its original condition done right. It had a NOS ball light that was bought in the later 70's but never was put on till years later in the 90's when it was restored. Also installed is a NOS deluxe speedometer.

I just got my Orange Krate out today. Been 40 years , easily, since I rode it. Curious what year of Krate that I have. My seat has the rear springs and a telescope sping in the front mount. My brake levers have orange rubber coverings on them. Shifter has perfectly round knob. Dealer sticker on it says, BIG "G" BIKE US 127 North Greenville, Ohio 45331 I got it used in early to mid 70's My brother got the Pea Picker at the same time.
