grids don’t typically affect the sound too much but with that being said if you live in a heavy traffic area or big trucks roll by can cause vibrations in the windows grids can rattle against the glass if they’re not fastened right when the glass manufacturer assemble the glass unit. With that being said if you’re looking to maximize sound reduction laminated glass although pricey is 80% more noise reduction than double pane glass that’s non-laminated but it also offers a high security glass that’s extremely difficult to break. Another option which would cost less money is triple pane glass which blocks out 40% more noise than double pane however laminated double paned glass blocks out 40% more noise than even triple pane glass.

I don't mention brands because I try to keep the site as unbiased as possible and I've designed it as an educational site on what to look for and/or what to ask. As soon as I start mentioning brands that would mean 2 things. 1. its a great window and number 2- somebody is paying me to endorse them. And number 2 has not happened yet even though many sales people from many window companies use my videos to show their clients for educational purposes. Basically they're leveraging my information as 3rd party information but the only ones doing it know that they're seling an above average window.
