Beautiful tribute ❤️ Psalm 23
He played golf…..
The golf world misses Payne in a BIG way...going to be an amazing 25 year celebration at the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst.
RIP Michael J. Kling (1956-1999) Stephanie Bellegarrigue (1972-1999) Payne Stewart (1957-1999) Robert E. Fraley (1953-1999) Van Ardan (1954-1999) and Bruce Borland (1958-1999)
Amen
DEP🙏🏆🐎🧦😘
Good Men die everyday. Don’t Bring Religion into Tragedy.
Azinger has one major win and its the least of the four with the PGA. He only won it because he was competing againt the greatest choker of all, Greg Norman.
that opening statement.. 😢
one of the hard thing for me is that Payne Stewart passed away on 10/25/99 and my daughter river passed away to suicide 10/25/2018. she was fourteen years old five days before her birthday..Payne was my favorite golfer..i miss them both so much
I am very sorry for your loss
RIP Payne Stewart (1957-1999) A victim onboard a Learjet 35 which crashed in Mina, Edmunds County, near Aberdeen, South Dakota due to crew incapacitation and loss of cabin pressure.
i could listen to Zing all day, even now when he broadcasts on NBC and Golf Channel. What a eulogy! "Only God can change hearts."
Pure Class

I want to leave this comment here. I had a guest at my hotel check out yesterday and asked if I liked golf. I am an avid soccer\football fan with the Premier League etc and MLB. I told him the most I know about golf is of the crash in 1999 and about Stewart. He told me he remembered that day. I now am wanting more than anything to learn about golf
My all time fav player
Never was and still am not a golf guy but I had heard of Payne Stewart's tragic death and others with him. Thank you for sharing this, it meant a lot.
That was a wonderful tribute
A side of 'Zinger I didn't know of. Well done Paul. An exemplary eulogy. Simple, profound, funny, deeply meaningful in plain speaking. Could not have been better. He connected completely with his audience in a way that high rhetoric can't. Speaking from his heart to their hearts. The best communication.
That's well said and speaks for me as well.
Unless a seed dies
I remember the news cut in about the airplane being in the air and Noone was responding his family dearly loved him alot of friends
Thank You Paune for the memories, time with me & Jr Golf, and Great Play Mr. SMU - B-Well & Blessed to ALL - Dennis & Laura Cone & PCA PR world Caddie Team .
Beautiful words ...
Wow. Spectacular eulogy. Paul Azinger, God bless you.
Payne was a wonderful man & Paul was one of his great friends.
I miss Payne.
This is probably the best live version of the song in my opinion
I walked TPC Sawgrass in 2005 with Zinger in a pro am. His PGA tour stories and stories about Payne were hysterical. It seemed like we were laughing the whole time! He was such a great dude! And then came the Ryder Cup…
Great player, great style, great swing-a legend
The words of Paul would be the words of people who are alive now and remember Payne as a charismatic person and super golfer epitomisesd by his words to Phil at the end of theirUS Open memorable contest that was so close a lasting tribute to sportsmanship God Bless
It's U.S. OPEN week... that means time to pull up PAYNE STEWART highlights on UA-cam
Best eulogy ever!
I miss you Payne.....God 🙏 needed an Angel more... RIP
Love you Paul
I was a crew member on the University of North Dakota's Cessna Citation II weather research aircraft from 1984 to 1993. I was the instrument engineer and experienced the very thing that killed the crew on Payne Stewart's plane. Our crew probably survived because of my realization that I was experiencing hypoxia. I participated in the altitude chamber training at Ellsworth AFB a few years prior. Our plane had a notorious cabin pressure leak at high altitude. We had an SF6 detection instrument on board, which was VERY sensitive to cabin pressure changes. We were flying at near the aircraft's service ceiling and this instrument started drifting badly. I asked the pilot to stabilize the cabin pressure so I could get accurate readings. It was no use, the cabin pressure kept decreasing. We had a sensor in the electronics that would disconnect power from the research equipment when cabin pressure hit 17,000 feet, or something like that. I knew we were going to lose power soon, so I started taking notes on what was going on. Suddenly I forgot how to write. It was then that I remembered being unable to write was a symptom of O2 depravation. I immediately yelled to the pilot, "Roger, drop the masks now!!" He did and we all survived to tell the story, although I was the only one that ever did. The call sign of our jet was 77ND and is currently in a KS boneyard. It crashed in AK due to ice ingestion during a Sikorsky helicopter icing certification experiment. I hope you enjoyed this little narrative. I enjoy sharing it.
Incredible, thank you for sharing
Thank you for your courage and your words
He would have been a awesome Ryder Cup captain.
I’m not a great fan of US golfers but Fred Couples and Payne were right up with the best characters.
Wow, that was beautiful
Hadn't watched this before, I'm glad I did. Great tribute to these men but more importantly to King Jesus my savior, my redeemer, my King!!
Amen and Amen
What a great tribute. Thank you Paul. Payne’s death really devastated our little city where he grew up. Especially among those of us who were lucky enough to have known him. Miss you brother. ❤️
Lucky to have grown up with and known him. If he were alive today he’d be speaking out about how immoral and corrupt our society has become. He’d be disgusted. As am I.
Act accordingly. After Open win he brought the trophy back to Springfield filled it with Crystal champagne and a bunch of us drank out of it. Another story you’re not told about the open is that before the tournament, he had been struggling with his swing. Jim Morris (Payne’s Dad’s friend and local golfer) and Sam Reynolds (the pro at Hickory Hills who taught Payne as a kid) flew to Florida and made some swing adjustments that helped him get his mojo back. I was lucky enough to have grown up with Payne and his family. SO missed brother. ❤️
