Cool video, but Phitsanulok is in no way the “last hidden gem of Thailand.” Basically everywhere in the country outside of the places that 99% of tourists go to (Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, etc) is still extremely authentic and you will see hardly any foreigners.

thanks for sharing always look forward to your vloggs, do you pre plan and book each leg of your trip or just look for a room/hotel as you travel about and choose destinations etc as you go, i know you can travel 400 or even 600 kilometres a day but thats alot of driving and no time to take in things as you travel. probably a more realistic plan is around 200 km each day, what are your thoughts and tips , cheers

I have a house in Phrae and I hope it stays a quiet town with not much to do. Tourism has taken all the charm away from so much of southern Thailand. But more than taking away charm, something that is pretty subjective, massive levels of tourism turn natives into panderers after tourist dollars, yuan, euros, etc.

Sukothai was the original capital of Thailand. Bangkok became capital because of the port. Now there are plans to build a new capital north east of Bangkok because parts of the city has actually sunk hence the flooding every year.

My wife and i will be doing our first road trip through the north of Thailand in June 24. We will start from Bangkok head up towards chang rai with stops in between then back back down from udon thani towards Bangkok with stops in between. We have 3 weeks to do what ever we want as well as stop where we want and check out what ever we found a long the way, this will be the best part of the trip, finding the hidden gems as you said.
