How To Upcycle Old Honey Bee Boxes DYI: Unique Library Space
Переглядів 3321 день тому
These boxes were pulling from the honey fields decades ago. They were then used for over a decade to cover feeding pails. I brought each box inside to dry out from being snowed on. Once dried I then removed any frame spacers and scraped each box inside and out the best I could. Using SICO kitchen and bath paint. I painted each box outside with one coat and the inside 3 coats of paint. We decide...

    What's the quality of the spinach like after 70 minutes of cooking? I have (literally) pounds and pounds of spinach and can only freeze so much. Is itva pile of mush when you open and drain it?

    • @giffordshoneyfarm8626
      @giffordshoneyfarm8626 2 місяці тому

      It's similar to the consistency of frozen spinach when it thaws. A pile of mush LOL. It's good for soups, stews, omelets etc...It is shelf stable for years. Where are you located that you have so much spinach in mid November? It's currently minus 23 degrees Celsius here in northern Canada.

    • @sushicourier
      @sushicourier 2 місяці тому

      @giffordshoneyfarm8626 I live in Southern California. One of my local grocery stores has 3 pound bags of spinach nearly every week (they are the size of pillows, lol) for $3.49. I thought I would take advantage of that. Thanks for letting me know. I've never bought grocery store canned spinach so I just didn't know.

    This woman doesn't have a clue... I've been a woodworker all my life and have used scores of sharpening techniques and tools. Sharpening is the same for all steel "knife edge" devices whether it be a plane blade, a chisel, a knife, scissors or as in this case a food slicer blade. It is correct that the flat back of the blade first needs to be made perfectly flat again with the use of proper sharpening stones or diamond laps. BUT, when sharpening the serrated side the use of a kitchen knife "hone" ( I forget what she inaccurately calls it) is absolutely useless... The hone is used not along its length as she demonstrates but across its shank as when dressing the sharp edge of a kitchen knife. Sliding the hone lengthwise with the "grooves" of the hone does absolutely nothing.
