Most people don't play the harmonica, and don't listen to harmonica music every day. So when a professional harmonica player plays, people assume that's how the harmonica should sound. Many songs can be played in different ways. Straight (the way the song was origienely meant to be played) in a bluesy style, in a waltz style and so on. Even though the song was composed a certain way. Let's take Amazing Grace as an example. I have heard it played on the harmonica by one person in the blues style. Then I heard Amazing Grace played by an ensymbol on different types of harmonicas. Chromatic, chord,, and so on together. in a more mellow straight fashon style.. You can do this with that song. Now some songs can only be played one way.. Let's take an Irish jig. You can pay it however you want, there's no rules. BUT even when that Song is played, the Irish jig, some harmonica players will play it with a growl or too harsh sounding. I noticed when Buddy Green is demonstrating and playing a classical piece, he will play it somewhat a little harsh. People may not think so because they assume that's how a harmonica sounds when a professional plays. By the way, I play the harmonica, so i know a little something. Do you agree with what I said? Anybody knows why his album “Praise you Lord” is not on any streaming services? I think it is his best early works.

Buddy Green is a great player and his favorite Harmonica player is Charlie McCoy the country western player. He can play just like him doing his style exactly note for note. He plays with Persian and with great articulation. He has the speed down well. You are not actually playing fast. You sound like you are playing faster than you actually are. He turns it out.

Buddy Greenes music and lyrics has been a part of my life since the 80's. As a harp.player of 40 yrs I find his harp playing unbelievable. One of my favorite musicians and harp player. I gave my life to Jesus at the age of 24 on 12-26-1983 and at the present age of 64 on Sept.16th I'm still walking down the narrow road with Jesus. What a journey it has been and continues to be.
