Does this trailer show an alternate cut of the film? At the end, where Mifune and Nakadai walk toward each other, I could have sworn that Nakadai had the rest of his clan behind him in the official release.
You are correct. I'm sure that it was only done for the trailer.
That's right. This footage is mixed with what was shot for promotional purposes. The same goes for the scene where Nakadai and Mifune are alone to keep each other in check.
