Played West Kilbride many times over the years. Not the longest course but that stretch from 13-16 can be a beast when you get it back into a 20mph wind with sideways rain.

Didn't need to drive 4 hours to Dunaverty... Could have gone via Arran and played Shiskine on the way... Then off North end of island to Kintyre....

What’s with the constant birdsong, fellas?

My home club. There's only really one way to play the Hotchkin unless you're a very good golfer (plus handicap) and that's a bit defensively. I play off 3 and always score better if I accept that a bit. Our other course, The Bracken, is a totally different vibe and setup as it's relatively open parkland and you can really attack the course if you want to. Having the 2 totally different courses at the same venue is fantastic imo. If you get the chance give The Bracken a bash ,doesn't drain well like the Hotchkin though so I'd do it in the summer.

I was a junior at Woodhall and had to learn to play on this course. Pretty hardcore when you regularly need to carry 100 plus yards of heather and you're only a scrawny 10-year-old...
