Can this offset open mesh?
Hi, Offset can be applied to any kind of meshes: open and closed.
Is this experimental feature on 2:44 (polyga scanner integration) public available. Are there any tutorial how to make such intergation. I mean - i know c++, i know how to work with industrial cameras, i know how to handle structured light patterns and create point clouds. So i want to make integration with mesh inspertor or build my custom solution based on the MeshLib
Hi Denis, We don't have this code exposed to MeshLib now. However, if you plan to create an integration with MeshInspector, we can help. Please get in touch with us at support@meshinspector.com.
Not opensource = garbage.
Thank you for your comment! To clarify, the MeshLib SDK is indeed open source. You can review the license terms here: github.com/MeshInspector/MeshLib?tab=License-1-ov-file#readme MeshInspector, on the other hand, is a professional product built upon the MeshLib SDK, designed to deliver enhanced features and user experience for advanced workflows. Also, it's worth noting that open source doesn’t always mean "free to use" without restrictions-licensing terms define how the software can be used, shared, or modified. We believe in providing a balance between accessibility and the resources needed to maintain and improve these tools.
@@meshinspector No it is NOT open source, your license is NOT an open source license at all.
Actually I've used MeshLib for operations with 3D models and I want to say it is really fast and working great. Thanks for your tools and good luck!
We're glad to hear that! Thank you!
With nearly 18 years of experience in applied 3D programming, I can confidently say that MeshLib stands out as the fastest, most robust, fully comprehensive, and remarkably user-friendly platform library I have ever used.
Thanks for you kind words!
Can I calculate the volume difference in that area?
Yes, you can use the boolean difference and then see the volume of the result. I hope it helps.
Thanks I will check
this doesnt work anymore
Hi! We've improved this tool and now it's called Mesh Healer. ua-cam.com/video/FK6c9xAld-o/v-deo.html
It didnt work to open .mesh file
Do you mean MESH files used by Medit, a French program for visualizing scientific models?
@@meshinspector I guess. I was able to download a character model and I cannot seem to import it into blender. Do you have any ideas, or know of a (free) File converter so I can convert ..mesh to FBX or OBJ or STL?
@@meshinspector Hello???
@@robbycrawford Hi! MeshInspector supports for import .stl, .obj, .off, .dxf, .step, .stp, .ctm, .3mf, .model, .ply, .pts, .asc, .csv, .xyz, .e57, .las, .laz, .gtlf, .glb, .tif, .tiff, .gcode, .txt, .dcm, .raw, .vdb, .gav. These file formats include point clouds, meshes, voxels, DICOM, and G-code. .mesh format seems to be a proprietary format that we do not support currently.
Thank you!!!
Hello! I was wondering if it's possible to get full/comprehensive statistics information when using distance compare? The concise min/max statistics are useful, but I would also prefer to have full info about distances.
Hi! We're ready to improve the tool and welcome your feedback. Could you please give us examples of full, comprehensive statistics information?
@@meshinspector Thank you so much for your reply! By full information I mean the data from which the min/max distances, average distances are derived (mentioned at 2:04). If it is possible, I am thinking of a table that has reference object coordinates on one column and the signed distances on the other column.
@@happyquark4686 Do you want to export full information into a PDF or to be visualised in the dialog box?
@@happyquark4686 there may be too many points' coordinates. If possible could you please send references at support@meshinspector.com?
@@meshinspector Both options sound great, but I think having a pdf would make a data transfer easier? Could you clarify what do you mean by references, please?
Are there any quadragulation features ?
Hi, we support quads for import. They're turned into meshes. But we don't have a quad meshing feature.
Wow! This is so exciting to see how MeshInspector is used in different fields and how it helps to solve someone's "pain" Moreover, it was interesting to hear feedback about working with developers, how quickly they respond to suggestions and wishes. That's really cool
wow, surprising
It's so cool! Does meshlib support this feature?
Yes, this visual mode is based on MeshLib functions and shows how fast they work.
Is it "honest" mesh-based boolean? I've never seen so fast boolean functionality working on meshes, but not on voxels!
Hi! Sure. You can try it yourself!
The latest updated verse is excellent. I needed to thicken my recent model; the new update just did that with one click. Thanks!
Hi Jerome, Thanks for your comment and feedback. If you ever need our help, please feel free to email us at support@meshinspector.com.
Great! Very good explanation with visual demonstration.
Hello Could I get example Python codes of this function? I followed the example on the homepage, but the system keeps trying to close the part that is not sealed at the bottom of the tooth, recognizing it as a hole.
Hi, sure. Please feel free to ask for this on GitHub, so our developers will provide it for you: github.com/MeshInspector/MeshLib/discussions
How do you I chose best voxel size?
Hi Sergey, we recommend to start with the default voxel size parameters. If you are not satisfied with the result, you may want to either increase or decrease the voxel size. Take into account that the smaller the voxel size is - the more model details will be preserved after the operation; however, the operation will consume more computing power and, therefore, time. And vice versa. If you need to get the result quicker, you can put a larger voxel size for surface reconstruction.
Probably the tool window should not close when it is applied. Would be more convenient to apply several iterations, or undoing and adjusting parameters.
You can see the normals on the dragon are wrong by the color. With default settings, the outer surface of an object is blue, and the inner surface is of yellowish color. If it's the opposite, need to flip the normals.
What would be the python command for re positioning if we are using the meshLib sdk with choosing the SIMPLE mode?
Hi! here you can see use of this function github.com/MeshInspector/MeshLib/issues/2606#issuecomment-2060845796 ( mm.positionVertsSmoothly(mesh, newVerts) is call of Re-position/Simple ) It is edgeWeightsType parameter that set to mm.LaplacianEdgeWeightsParam.Cotan by default. It is same value that is used in MeshInspector Application in Re-position tool in Simple mode.
@@ruturajarolkar798 could you please share pictures at support@meshinspector.com?
smooth curvature filling is awesome👍
Thank you for this video! The merge option needs to be on the toolbar in the points workspace. 🙏
Hey, thanks for your comment. Moving the Merge tool to the Points tab makes sense. We will try to make merging scans more convenient in the next releases. Thanks again.
After I have done the offset I can not stitch it together, why?
Hey, thanks for providing the details on your model via chat. Finally, it worked for your case as it is shown in the video
Why can't I click on stotch two holes, it's like a tunnel and I want to fill it. I made offset hollowing and now I want to fill the hole but how?
Hey, thanks for providing the details on your model via chat. Finally, it worked for your case as it is shown in the video.
Can't change the number in thin walls and all the rest
Hello! The wall thickness is identification in mesh healer is linked to the tolerance setting. There is a separate tool Measure Thickness on the Inspect tab that you can use.
Is there any button or shortcut to select all primitives in an object?
Yes, sure! Ctrl+W for Windows or Command + W for MacOS. In this video we show where you can find other shortcuts: ua-cam.com/video/1Z_hDnxNPcQ/v-deo.htmlsi=u1KMFBVJfQ2i5sGs

Which library are you using for UI in Desktop app?
Dear ImGui
@@meshinspector i had no clue that it has ribbon control
Have you implemented Ribbon-like control in the scope of MeshInspector project?

Your face when you learn you can make background transparent: 😲
depending on my mesh it wont let me make the voxel size smaller, which is kinda annoying since maybe id like even more details
Hi! Thanks for your feedback. In the next release, we will decrease the voxel size as we did it in Mesh Healer tool. So far you can try to use Mesh Healer Rebuild tool with the lowest voxel size possible.
@@meshinspector like i currently have model, that is split into multiple pieces in blender, i have decided to combine them into 1 mesh and bring it to mesh inspector so i can just turn it into voxel then mesh it to force fix all the issues, because this is a very complex model. if i try to voxelize the entire mesh I'm limited to a specific number which voxelises the whole mesh for me at the same time i lose a lot of the small details i wanted... compared if i bring each piece by itself and then try to voxelize i can bring the voxel size to even a smaller amount so i can retain all the details.. but this still wont fix the gapes between all the pieces i would still need to somehow fix all those holes and little minor issues.
@@mahmood392 we already improved mesh to voxels. We can share the draft version that you can try right away. If you are interested, email us at support@meshinspector.com.
@@meshinspector i will think you.

How does one measure the milimeter distances on the CT scan?
Hello! Depends on your task. Basically, like it is shown in the video ua-cam.com/video/zwCg8xM3h84/v-deo.htmlsi=fGrvSAGJVodqe3An&t=108. You can zoom in and snap to the area you are interested in.
@@meshinspector Hi. I'm trying to measure certain portions of my bones on a CT scan with milimeter measurements. I'm not sur eof meshinspector can replicate the real life size of it and give me a measurement based in mm like how my orthodontist does it.
@@tamerofhorses2200 Hi! MeshInspector imports your files in the same measurement system as other software does. If it's mm, than the measurements will be in mm. If the original file is designed to be measured in meters, then whole numbers on measurements will be meters.
How do you split on large and small components? Actually the result looks cool.
Thank you for your question! By default, MeshInspector categorizes components into large and small using a threshold of 0.20% of the surface. This setting is customizable, and you can adjust it in the component settings.
Wow, that's one rad bike model you've got there! Can you actually 3D print this beast and take it for a spin? Talk about pedaling into the future!
Certainly! This bike model has 3D printable potential, but it's important to note that it requires additional preparation after using Mesh Healer before it can be printed. 🚴💨

Hang on, this tool is free of charge for personal use ? This is awesome, I will try that our right away. I have been looking for ages to replace "Meshmixer" and I think this tool is exactly what I need. I will recommend this tool to others once I have tried it out.
Most important tool to use for 3D scan data is "close hole with curvature continuity". Most tool simply close a hole and disregard the surrounding gheometry.
This software is great, it´s basically Meshmixer but more modern. I am afraid I will not be able to afford that tool xD
i dont have the mesh inspector drop down in the top left?
We updated the tool and recommend downloading a new version: ua-cam.com/video/FK6c9xAld-o/v-deo.htmlsi=zn4k9-RZS_iP8Dlc
