The lead track in this one has intentional desync, but it's only meant to loop up to 3 or 4 times due to the length of the minigame. No, the glitch that bricks the Didj is the one where you pause the game while walking at the bottom of the screen, go to the top of the screen, unpause, jump, pause and go below the screen before unpausing again. It only works sometimes, but it's still enough to trigger the "needs_repair" flag occasionally.

The original Leapster is Idaho according to some SDK stuff Pinball got. The smaller green/pink models are called Grasshopper internally. L-MAX is unknown, but I think it's literally just codenamed L-MAX.

Get ready for the main melody track to desync a lot from everything else. This happens on real hardware too, so it's still an accurate rip. Tracks in the SYN format are looped individually by the way. That's the reason it can desync in the first place. Each track has looping information and markers specific to that track, allowing for interesting effects like the one here uses for the first few loops.
You probably know this already, but some tracks from other games don’t loop properly. Some instruments are left out at the beginning of a loop and don’t start playing again until partway through.
That's been fixed but I have yet to release the update

The next upload will be Match-A-Morphosis from Reading with Phonics: Mole's Huge Nose. That one has intentional desync but is only meant to play 2 or 3 times due to the length of the minigame. That said, it still has the loop count set to 127 (which really loops it 128 times). A glitch in the editing software that made the video export 3 times unfortunately means this will take like 2 hours to get uploaded, as each export it did overwrote the last one.

The thing was so rushed by LF that even the home screen has some bugs. What's funny is that the Leapster Explorer reused the hardware, but it had actual development time. That lead to it being a much better system than the Didj. Oh, and a bit of a fun fact: Sonic Didj was one of the physical launch titles. It's the second most rushed game on the system as a result (WayForward's Nicktoons game suffered the worst overall though - every level uses the same tileset and the final build they shipped on the cartridge was an alpha build).

Due to the way the video signal works, no sadly. Even if you could, it'd look wrong due to the video signal having a filter that can't be turned off.
