Moreover can this normally be used to monitor the mud weight or only in special cases e.g, calculating cement slurry weight?
Pressurized Mud Balance usually used for cement and normal mud with foam.
How much pressure should be applied? Or how you know that enough pressure is applied?
there is no definite value of pressure. you just stop when the pump get harder not to add more mud to the balance.
