2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Review | A Legend Reborn
The Hemis dominated back in the day and with the debut of the new challenger they sure set the bar high! These 6.1 Hemis are such great machines and the challengers styling has stayed true to its predecessor. This is a perfect example of an American Muscle Car at its FINEST!

Its a slug but fun to drive.
A slug? HA far from it 😂
@@SRTHEMI I drove one for 12 years first time i drove it was really something but 2 minutes later i needed more power.
@@AaronEbright they aren't the fastest of course not but far from a slug lol. Im on my 2nd one. Even when i had my others that are faster (Camaro zl1 & 2 hellcats) i still feel like this car is still pretty fast & fun to drive.
@@SRTHEMI Luved mine old school feel beautiful car i like it better then most any thing out there. Mine was silver no stripes it fooled some folks who thought it was a v6
@@SRTHEMI Thank you for responding. Cool man
Good thing they slapped a Ram truck emblem right smack dab in the front of the car! Typical Dodge morons
only with widebody fenders and manual transmission this would be a beauty
Looks good just as it is
Weak sauce….sorry.
You broke though 😂😂😂
The tires weren’t staggered from the factory
The video is so amazing keep going hero💯💯
6:00 🤤
There's something special about the 2008-10 Challenger that no other modern muscle car can capture, it's my favorite Challenger along with the 1970 R/T. The later years had more power, cushier interiors, and all that, but none of them can beat the pure presence of the '08 model.
Nah too old
Agreed. It's a strange draw
idk… my 2014 is pretty perfect to me
@@colonelcactus118same body tho. I think he’s just referring to the pre-facelift models. Which I completely agree, the 2015- models are great too but the hard lines of the 08-14 models are amazing today.
@@User_92020 you keep commenting too old on these srt8 challenger videos you probably dont even have a car 😂😂😂😂.
Good review on a badass muscle car!
Dream car, I want it in red with the black racing stripes I don't care what it has engine i'll get a new one for it, but i'm honna have to wait.
You talk too much in the video step on the gas and let me hear the 6.1 v8!
I love these cars unmolested and pure. I'm on my 2nd srt8 jeep. I had and 07 and 4 years ago i got an 08. I have made no mods to either except cold air and i plan to keep it that way.
How reliable are they? Ive been wanting one for the longest
Jesus is returning soon everyone
Are They are reliable
yes very
@@mattjingles5758 I picked up a 2008 dodge charger rt
@@SRTsmokes it can last you for years as long as you take care of it and dl matnience checks every now and then but if your on the drag track everyday going full throttle I'd give it 2-4 years at best but yeah
thats crazy! ive got car number 12 with 14k miles on it! had it since 08 off the showroom floor
I’ve found a 2009 challenger srt8 with 189,000 miles for $15000 third party dealer runs great, everything works . Am I stupid to think about it 😅 or is it worth it and have the engine rebuilt? Car looks very well kept, clean Title, original parts, clean inside and out .
189,000 miles??
@@markspence20xx 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have the Orange 2008 SRT8 . They only came 3 colors in 08, that was Black, silver and Orange. Mine has around 207,000 on it now and is still running good.
6.1 is the best engine imo that thing can take a beating
Do these models have the msd lifters issues ?
No, 8 cylinders all the time.
mds* and no that's the auto 5.7 and the auto 6.4.
What is the price?
3:13 what's with the blinking light
the screen? the camera is at a different frame rate than the screen, which causes the display to appear to flicker
Sorry man but you are not meant to be making videos you got a lot to learn
They came with 255.20 not 275
What number is it?
This is the one I want.
Stunning beast
there is a 2008 right now i found for 20k with 70k miles, red, lowered with some mods done to it. Kind of hard not to wanna get it. These cars drive amazingly well and shift easy. its like driving a lincoln.
The price vs a used hellcat is something you can't beat. But both would be fun to have. Would like a 6.1 and find a used hellcat or demon blower and go forged. 25k+ is a lot more on the monthly payments for just one car. Being able to buy 2 to 3 Mopars with the same $ kinda gets me though the supercharged hemis are tempting.
2008 is way too old F that lol
@@User_92020you probably drive a 2004 clapped out Honda Civic 😂😂😂
I had an orange one with a 6-speed. Way cool car, that had power and good brakes. Just too heavy....
For their weight they handle really well tbh
Try it again .Use manual shifting with the tow haul button engaged!
Absolutely, A dramatic difference, (tow haul mode/in 6th gear) hold on to your hat!!!!!!!!😇😇😇😎
I wanna see premium gas!!!
Sweet
Great truck love mine
Why record in small frame makes it hard to watch.
That's bizarre, looks fairly slow for the power it's laying down.
Got up there pretty damn quick😂 you sure that’s slow for sub 500?
It's doing 60-100 in about the same amount of time my 380 wheel Speed3 was. I'd assume it would be faster than that.
@@PacoRobbins lmao the camera makes it seem slower, trust!
@@PacoRobbins what’s the weight ratios? And could’ve been a different type of dyno
Sounds like he wants to race but doesn't
16,000!!
I’m waiting for ..22’s.. I want a tundra. Best truck , bar none, for the buck!!
Damn that sounds good! Here in NH we don't even have E85
quick drive down to mass its still not common but you can find it down here i have a friend in keene that drives down and gets a ton of e85 to bring home
us navy, air force, army vet. I can’t feel the bumps....but I can hear them. LOL... can’t wait to buy one soon.
it is 38 gas tank for crewmax it is so largest!!!!
You need the tow haul button on partner, makes a huge difference
Nice truck. I bought a 2020 almost identical to yours minus the TRD. Mine is just a sr5 in cement. My sticker was 44,995. I added led headlights from toyota along with a viper remote start. Also did led interior lights and a putco led tailgate light bar. My only complaint is Toyota omitted the external transmission cooler 19-21 models but plan to add one once my warranty is up. The Tundra is a nice long lasting truck the has very little inherent problems like the domestics.
Run it again in tow hall mode!
From an off-road performance point of view between a standard SR5 and the SR5 with the TRD Off-Road package is the only difference the Bilstein shocks and the skid plates on the Off-road package? There are no other features that increase it's off-road performance (such as a different suspension, etc), correct?
You probably figured this out already but you are correct, the rest is cosmetic pretty much + bigger wheels. I like the off road package because it gets rid of all the chrome that comes on the standard tundra. The LED headlights are nice too, plus push button start. You could always just add the things the off road package has yourself for a little cheaper probably, but the resale value on the off-road is better if that's something you're concerned with. It's also a convenience factor just having the factory add the stuff for you.
I want this truck!
I have a chance to get one of these today, thinking of pulling the trigger for sure!
Do it I just did . Got one with a cam and it’s awesome
So did you do it?
@@DrabbestGorillaYT He was probably joking bro
I like how the outside looks bu the interior not good
@@DrabbestGorillaYT Almost did, someone else beat me to it. It was on the market only 1 day and by the time I went for it after work, the salesman told me someone in the morning had purchased it.
Look under the hood
Absolute beast
Would you happen to know the bolt pattern for your wheels?
🔥🔥🔥 Sick car, man!!
I just bought a used 2018 tundra. It only had 2600 miles on it. Previous owners kept it garaged and used for errands. It has what sounds like a slight valve train ticking at idle. Does your truck have that? My ecoboost had a similar tick, but I think it was the high pressure fuel pump. I haven’t done a 0-60 in the tundra, but it’s definitely quick. Feels quicker than my ecoboost did.
That sound is normal. Both the 4.6l and 5.7l engines do it. Kinda sounds like a diesel when idling and warmed up. BTW, also a 2018 owner here. Only 4800 miles on it. Love it.
I don't know how either of you has such low miles. Mine is a 2021 and I've had mine for two months and have already put over 2200 miles on it. Such a pure joy of a truck to drive. Added the trd exhaust and wow. I'm loving the low deep rumble of the exhaust.
Yes my Tundra makes that noise as well. Seems to be less evident after it warms up. I wouldn't worry about it!
I have a 2018 Crew Max 5.7 v8 with 4x4 And I just hit 33,000 miles, no problems at all. I do wonder how you both up there have very low miles? I have the Trd exhaust but with a more aggressive muffler from Dirty Deeds Industries , it has an X- pipe which really does give it better low end power than the standard trd mufflers. Also have the TRD performance Cold air intake. Sounds real nice My 0-60 was in 6.5 seconds , I have a video on my channel if you want to check it out.
@@Jaimeleon20 I don't drive very much (work from home most of the time; usually put miles on it when going up to NH for the summer, but covid put the kibosh on that this year)
It's a truck not a sports car, but still a fun video.
