Heritage Oak Series ~ Episode 4: Finale
Featuring Fred Nuesca and Dr. Robert Taylor,
with additional voiceover by Jana Goldsworthy
Filmed and edited by Konrad de Ruyter
In the fourth and final episode of our video series, dendrologist Dr. Robert Taylor explains the process of reading rings to estimate the age of a tree. Learn all kinds interesting information about our beloved Oak, based on sections sliced from a large branch and follow along as we work towards completion of our Timeline Project, which will mark significant historical events along the rings or a large branch section.
This wonderful old tree saw many changes, including the arrival of the Inn when it was moved to its current location to avoid demolition when the 101 Fwy was being built. Together they grew and developed and though the ancient oak is now gone, we have found many ways to preserve its history at the museum
The Heritage Oak Fundraising Campaign, conceived in its honor, represents continued renewal and growth of the museum through a major fundraising campaign with double matching from Conejo Recreation and Park District.

Thank you!!! ❤❤
I got a pretty good video of the first owl. Your video of the second release is the best.
Barn owls are GORGEOUS! That is an amazing straight on shot you have there!
Wow! That front shot of the owl is perfect. 🦉
It's not app as an application the proper pronunciation is the A sounds like an O as in Op. I know you probably mean well but they really need to get someone else that can pronounce our language much better than that you're going to have everybody else thinking that you are correct. And we don't need any other race representing us we can do that ourselves. That what you're doing is considered false teachings 😮, and that needs to stop. My name is Victor Romero Samala Chumash. If you have questions ask a native and not your book. So get it right before you try to post another video about the Chumash.
My home ground. Went to school at timber. The Conejo was a grand place to live in. I did not like all the growth.
Thanks for the video!
Pretty neat!
I don't know how else to get ahold of anyone to speak about my family. My name is Zachary Warren Thurman. My grandmother was Alice Allyn Thurman. I'm the oldest male grandchild in our family. My great great grandfather was Herbert Fred hunt. I would love for someone to please give me more history about my family and help me bring my family to see the places he loved. I'll wait for contact to give out my number. We were raised to be very proud of our family and I'd like that to continue with my own children.
Absolutely beautiful house!
I am part Chumash and watch this fills my heart with joy. 💞💞💞
