Suzan Verberne - Fluid Art
Hi! I'm Suzan from the Netherlands, and I’m excited to share my passion with you.
When I was little, I dreamed of becoming a sorceress, but as I grew older, I realized magic only existed in fairy tales.
So, I decided to pursue illustration-after all, that’s a form of magic on paper!
At 18, I went to art school with the goal of becoming a drawing teacher, thinking it would be a practical career.
But life got in the way, and I wasn't ready for that path yet.
I spent more than 20 years focusing on a career as a social worker, leaving my creativity behind.
In the spring of 2023, I discovered Fluid Art, and everything changed.
It felt like I rediscovered a part of myself and my true passion.
Now, I’m eager to share this creative journey with others.
Whether it’s through beautiful artwork or teaching someone what I love, I hope to inspire and connect with you.
Thank you for visiting my channel-I hope you enjoy the content!
With love,
Suzan

Hide & Reveal Blowout Experiment with One of My Favorite Color Palettes #AcrylicArt #fluidart
Hi!
Welcome to my latest fluid art video! In this Hide & Reveal Blowout Experiment, I explore one of my favorite acrylic pouring color palettes. Watch as I demonstrate the power of tilting and spinning in fluid art to create beautiful and unique compositions. This process is a key techniqu, and in this video, I’ll show you just how much you can control the outcome with simple movements.
Whether you’re an acrylic pouring enthusiast or someone who enjoys relaxing and watching the mesmerizing process of fluid painting, this video is for you! I’ll try to walk you through every step of the hide and reveal blowout technique, showing how each tilt and spin can completely change the piece’s design.
This video features well-known techniques, as well as some new twists that I explore in my own way.
If you enjoy watching acrylic art or like to experiment with fluid art yourself, I hope you'll learn something new from this video. The goal is to inspire and encourage creativity in all artists.
Feel free to subscribe (it's free) if you’d like to see more about acrylic pouring, blowout painting, and other fluid art techniques. Swiping is my preferred technique, but I also enjoy experimenting with other techniques. I enjoy sharing my discoveries with you, and I hope you’ll find something helpful for your own art projects.
Love Suzan

How I make my BASE:
Talens Art Creation Titanium White and Owatrol floetrol (1:3 minimal water added). I do this in portions (cups) of 35 grams of Titanium White and 105 grams of Owatrol, and usually add 5 grams of water. I make larger stocks of this, and always try to let it rest for at least 2 days so that it has fewer air bubbles...
The colors I used:
TLP Ball Gown
TLP Honeycomb
TLP Abalone
Golden QNAG
Golden Turquoise (Phthalo)
Amsterdam Prussian Blue Phthalo
Eye Candy Pigments Macaw Blue Green
I MIX MY COLORS also with Owatrol floetrol. Ratio depends on the pigmentation and thickness of the paint (Golden can easily do 1:6 and the standard Amsterdam I mix 1:3) also a very small amount of water added for consistency, but slightly thinner than the base.
I first wet my PIGMENTS with a little GOLDEN GAC 100 until I have a paste. Then I add a small scoop of binder (Caparol). I also use Owatrol as PM with the pigments and that is not paint. It therefore lacks the binding. And I personally don't like it when colors become 'runny'. So that's how I solve it. Then I also add Owatrol floetrol to this, I do that by eye, in the same consistency as the other colours.
I make my CELL ACTIVATOR with acrylic paint and Australian floetrol (1:3 for the blowout). I used Amsterdam Titanium White and Amsterdam Lamp Black here.
I got my spinner from: www.ericahughesart.com/
I buy my TLP's (This Little Piggy), Flat-face blow dryer and BOOM Gel Stain from: eu.fluid-art.co/

#fluidart - Partial Hide & Reveal - Monochromatic Negative Space Swipe with a Loaded Palette Knive
Hi! Negative space, hidden colors under a partially 'faux pillow', cell activator, a palette knife shaped like a fork, a big loaded palette knife, graceful swipes with lines and curls, BOOM gel, scoop and drags, a monochromatic blue color palette with black, white and gold, super shiny pigments, tilting and spinning... the whole shebang! And then this is the outcome with a classic look! Decembe...

Hi! I'm really excited to show this video. Right now, almost my favourite painting so far! Especially since it's such a nice big size. I tried to make a similar painting, to the one a week before. The one with the red colours, also a hide and reveal blowout (ua-cam.com/video/0XUBMFpuz7k/v-deo.html) But with this one, I managed to achieve even more of a space effect. It no longer looks directly ...

Hi! I don't actually have time to paint this week, but made two beautiful ones last Sunday! In this video, I also show you the dried result from my last video first (ua-cam.com/video/TXJ2v_DhhXM/v-deo.html). In which I sandwich 3 beautiful This Little Piggy pigments between dark colours. It dried up nicely, and I can't wait until it's cured and I can varnish it! In this video, I continue to exp...
#fluidart - Experimental Hide & Reveal Blowout & Swipes with Scoop & Drags - Interference Shimmer
Hi! I have been practicing with the blow dryer for three weeks now, and my goal was never a regular Bloom. But the effect of it, the different cell structures and transitions of colors, appealed to me a lot. So that it would be experimental was at the top of my list. I certainly haven't mastered it yet, the blow, I still want to practice a lot. But last night I had just enough paint left for on...
Fluid Art Hide and Reveal Blowout with a few Subtle Scoop and Drags - BIG Canvas with Stunning Reds!
Hi! This is a special one, I am very proud! It's a big one, that foremost. I haven't gone bigger on a rectangular canvas yet, it wouldn't fit on my spinner, table and in the frame of my mobile! By the way, my floor is always very happy with this too.... ;p And at first I was nervous, and worried about it going all wrong.... But I think I finally managed to make a nice whole of it. She's already...
Fluid Art - Hide and Reveal Blowout - Problem solving and dried results at the end!
Hi! I continue to practice with the blow dryer for a while, and along the way I encounter various challenges and problems. With this one also, too much CA, which I cannot move properly either. I struggle with it, but eventually find a solution that I certainly don't regret. It actually gives the whole thing a new and interesting dynamic! I'm happy, and can't wait to give this one a nice glossy ...
Fluid Art Hide and Reveal Blowout - Practicing my blow dryer skills
Hi! I've been practicing with the blow dryer for a few weeks now. It's still very difficult, but I seem to be getting a better grip on it. The hardest part is still figuring out the right amount of paint, especially with all the layers of a hide and reveal. The right amount of CA, and spreading it properly with the blow dryer. I'm still running into the problem that when I've blown one “petal” ...
Fluid Art - Compilation Video of Two Techniques - Transfer Swipe AND an Attempt for a Pleated Swipe
Hi! A fun little video in which I try out two different things. I make a small transfer swipe on a black background. This is to try out the color combination, to maybe do it on bigger later. And because I was messing around with my large spatula anyway, I also thought of trying out a Pleat. I see them popping up all over FB, and hadn't tried it before. So I just put that shot behind it! I learn...
Fluid Art Swipe with Black 'Faux Pillow', only 4 colors Black, White, Gold and TLP Grenache
Hi! Although this painting ended up being a bit of an odd shape or composition, I am thrilled! I already knew that this combination of colors is a real classic eye-catcher. But using This Little Piggy pigment Grenache, in combination with the BOOM gels, does give it an extra dimension, and particularly shaped cells. This is the preview of more to come. I very much want to do this at really larg...
Fluid Art Negative Space Bloom Swipe with Scoop and Drags - Beautiful Blues with Brown and Gold
Hi! A very quick next video! I know. I made this painting yesterday, there were some learning moments in it again. And the composition turned out a little unusual, but the colors and swipes, I love it! I'm in a bit of a hurry because I did something cool today. And I can't wait to show that. I'm going to try it on bigger in a moment. I don't dare, but I have a 50 x 50 cm ready for this. That wo...
Fluid Art Mixed Techs, Experimenting with a Very Cool Outcome! - Blowout, Swiping and Scoop and Drag
Hi! Experimenting again, again with the hair dryer. It's still pretty difficult, so I'm just messing around. I'll see what happens, and where the paint takes me. I still think my Owatrol mix is a bit less suited to it. The lack of a more gliding base coat, since I don't use house paint. Also, the blowouts tend to get a bit “watery” in the transitions. But I won't let that stop me. I keep trying...
Another Practice Piece with the Blow Dryer - Hide and Reveal Blow Out - Beautiful Sparkly Pigments
Hi! A short video, practicing my blow dryer again. It remains difficult! The first blow was okay, but those that came after were a little less so. So I couldn't resist still putting my palette knife in. The colors speak for themselves and do their job, how wonderful those beautiful pigments are! I think this palette also lends itself nicely to a Hide and Reveal, I've already remixed new amounts...
Fluid Art Blowout with a Hairdryer - Learning Other Techniques and Discovering How it Works
Hi! I am a swiper, definitely not a bloomer! Of course I have tried and practiced with it. But with mouth blowing I'm not very good..... I can manage the size of a coaster, but bigger with the mouth, that's definitely not my talent. I'm not really into making blooms either, but I think Karen's deconstructed blowouts, and Jessica's Hide and Reveal blowouts, are incredibly cool! And I would like ...
Fluid Art Hide and Reveal Swipe - Benevolence - Quite a Chaotic and Dramatic Composition!
Hi! I'm making a Hide and Reveal painting here, with a black 'faux pillow'. Of course, I was also quick to follow when Fluid Art Co. released a Limited Edition Pigment (Benevolence) to raise money for the Hurricane Relief Fundraiser! What a great deed, because from each jar of pigment, $5 went to the fund. There were 2000 available all over the world, and they almost sold out, amazing! In addit...

Says the Queen of blowouts, woohoo! Thank you so much Karen ❤, it's really sweet of you to leave a comment, I will continue to binge your videos to get even better!! And I have yet to find a good hairdryer with a cold setting....!
Amazing Composition! I just love the whole Hide& Reveal thing. Incredible how this one with the Black and White Split holds the Shape
C ' est magnifique.👏
Another Wonderful Piece Suzan - Great Job - Love It !!! Q: Seeing how you like to make layering effects (me too) Have you tried Pebeo's "Moon" or "Prism" paints ? Just a bit can make some pretty cool special effects & textures I've only seen Sarah Taylor use them and don't know if other people know about them Regardless, your layers are very noticeable now - just a friendly fyi 💙💙💙
Thank you so much Lanie, I've heard of it before, but that's it. I looked it up and will check it out again in Sarah's videos as it looks very interesting! I can easily get it here too, so it definitely piques my interest, I love experimenting with textures! And whether it also works with a thick mix, I'll probably try it soon, thanks for the great tip!! ❤
Beautiful ❤❤❤
Absolutely gorgeous, Suzan!! 😍🤩😍
Thank you so much Bill! I missed your birthday, sorry.....congratulations, I hope you had a really nice day!! ❤
Hi Suzan : What An AMAZING Piece !!! I Especially Love The Way Your Blue And Gold Colors Mesh Together So Well You've Given It An ANTIQUE QUALITY Very Cool ♨️♨️♨️ PS: Perfect Music Accompaniment Choice :)))
Thank you so much dear!!! I am indeed very proud of this one!!! And yay!!! Better this way right?! Am so glad I took that step, it's totally worth it! 😘💙
Absolutely out of the this world.....BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you so much Jamie! Very Merry Christmas wishes to you!!! ❤
Very creative and beautiful will you varnish or resin this one?
Thank you so much!!! This will be with varnish, unfortunately I don't have an extra ventilated room for that, so I've never worked with it either.... 😉💙
It is a pain to work with I think. I have one piece I fell Like I messed up because I resined it. I have to re do resin and 🤞🏻
Such a new take. I love it!
Thank you so much!! Obviously inspired by Winterstromart, but I try to put my own spin on it!!! 😉💙
Wow, love your style may try something like that in my work, it is awesome 🤩 ❤
Thank you so much! Yes, definitely go try it, it's so much fun to do!!! 💙😘
Prachtig weer Suzan.
Absolutely amazing hide&reveal blow out. Excellent very impressive artwork Suzan👍🏻⭐️🎄⭐️🎄😘
Thank you so much!!! Still so happy and proud with this one Friedo, she's not going anywhere! Wishing you a very warm and happy December month!!! 😘🎄💕

Thank you so very much!! 💜
😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you!! 💜
Intense in mind boggling ways as usual stacks of mmmm to become theses Islands of Brilliance in vastness of minds eye visionary Beauty ,,Oh ya Thanks
Thank YOU, love it!! 😄😊
Just wow! I love your work so much! 😍
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!!! 😘
Oh Suzan, You nailed the transparencies & the curves perfectly !!! Its Romantic with an Edge. One of my favorites :))) 🎉🎉🎉
So sweet! Thank you Lanie!! ❤
Incredible hide&reveal blow-/swipe and scoop&drag spun out. Excellent and absolutely inspiring artwork as always Suzan👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️😘
😘 Enjoy your evening Friedo!
Favorite pour, unreal. Great work!
Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it! ❤
Stunning!!
Thank you so much!! ❤
You’ve outdone yourself this time because this is incredible, Suzan!! I love the reds with the black and I bet the sparkle so much. Really beautiful piece. ❤
Thank you so much Katie, I'm very happy myself, it also dried great and I can't wait to vanish it! I really appreciate it! ❤
Absolutely amazing hide&reveal spun out as always Suzan👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️😘
Thank you so much sweet Friedo!! 😘
Absolutely gorgeous, Suzan, I love it!! 😍🤩😍
Thank you so much Bill! I've been a bit busy, but I saw what Jodie did for you guys, how super cool! I'm going to comment soon! 😘
❤❤love it, what colrs. Magnifique as usual. Happy to see you painting. I never see you torching your canvas.... Merci
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! I don't often use a blowtorch, although it could be used with the Owatrol. I do it very occasionally, if I haven't let the paint rest enough and there are lots of little bubbles. But I always give my base some time to rest, both the mix, and also when I have poured it on the canvas. I tap the canvas to let them come up, and poke or scoop them out with a small palette knife, most of the time 💙
❤Thanks for your answer Suzan.
She is a beauty! Prachtig hoor!
Dankjewel Janneke! 😘
WOW - on both of them!!!
Thank you so much!! 💙
Prachtig schilderij Suzan !! 🎉😊
Dankjewel, heel lief van je!! 😊
Parabéns. Sua pintura me encanta.
Thank you so much, that is so sweet!!! 😉💕
Absolutely brilliant! I LOVE your art! 👏👏👏👏👏
I love that, thank you so very much! ☺
As always absolutely amazing hide&reveal blowout Suzan 👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️😘
You're so sweet Friedo! 😘
Beautiful 👏👏💜
Thank you so much Christine!! 😊❤
Both Are Beauties 💥 💥 💥
Thank you so much Lanie!! Still grateful for your feedback 😉😘
Stunning pieces of art! 🤩
Thank you so much!! 💙
@SuzanVerberne_FluidArt you're very welcome 💙
Beautiful Suzan 😍
Thank you so much Saskia! 💙
Absolutely gorgeous, Suzan!! ❤
Thank you so much Bill! 😚
Hi Suzan, I Love Love All Your Art Work !!! You Lines Are So Clean And Your Color Pallets Are Wonderful. I've watched almost everything you've posted and enjoy every minute. The only (constructive) comment I'd like to make is about your choice of "Music". Some music compliments the viewing process in a relaxing / feel good way. But I've had to mute yours every time, because after the 1st minute of listening to the 'tapping' - it brings on a feeling of aggravation. Having to turn it off to mute and just watch to dead silence isn't very pleasurable. I'm not saying this to be mean, I want you to get a bigger following. Check out others like Sara Taylor or Niki's music playlist. Happy Fun Vibes. Just A Suggestion - I Think You Are So Talented And Your Work Inspires Me 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much Lanie!!! You put exactly the finger on the sore spot (a Dutch saying), but also gave me the final push I needed! I've been doing this for three months now, and the free YT library doesn't have that much choice, I was already repeating songs a lot. Especially since I don't speak myself in the videos (bad English pronunciation!), the music is extra important. And yes, the videos should also be relaxing to watch, which is why I love watching others! I just started my free trail, using what the (big) names you mention also use, and it's already a relief just scrolling through it. And even though it costs a bit, I'm probably going to use it more often than all those streaming services I also just pay for.... so thanks again immensely!!! 😘❤
Hello Suzan, I never ever leave comments on peoples sites. It just always felt like an invasion of a privacy type thing. But for some reason I felt comfortable reaching out to you. Even after I pushed send, I was a bit nervous. Having you reply back with kindness was so uplifting - thank you so much :))) I did gather that you didn't speak english when you didn't verbaly narrate your postings. Actually..... thats another reason why I love watching your videos. Some people (no names haha) talk way way too much. Or take an hour stirring paints. But thats ok too. I'm at a stage where I try and watch a few tapes before bed to relax. I'm more interested in the art process and seeing new discoveries. I get that from you - again thank you !!! I had no idea you had to pay for the music - sorry. You seem like a nice person with lots of talent and style. Hope you keep up your artistic passion and also keep sharing it with us. 💜💜💜
Heel mooie technieken, kleuren en design .!! Je maakt van fluid art echte kunst !!🎉😊
Dankjewel, echt heel lief!!
