GP World I’ve heard of but Team F1 Game I’ve not. Definitely something I need to check out!

Would definitely be interesting considering Football Manager is published by Sega who also published Motorsport Manager if I remember rightly. Normally I’d say that’s great news as Sports Interactive have done a great job with Football Manager for a long time, but this year.. well we haven’t even seen the game yet 😂

Lol. Sports Interactive cant even make a decent Football Manager. I dont know who told you that, but who ever did, is crazy, for sure.

Yeah I really think they could take the foundation of F1 Manager, build their own universe around it, and have a game that goes on for years. They could constantly work on new racing series, tracks, etc and release them as DLC like they do with the animal packs in Planet Zoo. I personally think this is the best option but that’s because I’ve never had an issue with unlicensed games, especially when you can mod them.

Exactly. The amount of DLC is quite big. I even came up with a crazy one, to be released somewhere down the line, that would make us manage a track/area. In that way we would start with some small dirt track and build it up to bigger scale and involve rallies (if such thing would be introduced) and try to build up the calendar with various, ever more prestigious events. Also just to reiterate it, licenses could expire or be pulled away forcing the game to disappear from the market (while limiting game like such to what can be done with car classes, drivers, and seasons.) And mods can be distributed through either internal service (Planet Coaster 2) or external non Steam related services (mod io as example.) And that way the game can be released on both pc (including Steam and Epic) and consoles as well as Switch and phones (not sure if mods would work on those two, but both PlayStation and XBox do allow mods)

I’d love a proper race track manager as a standalone game, I think it is an incredible idea and I can’t believe no one has done it yet. I feel like it’s very niche though so likely would have to be more of a budget / indie title for it to be worth it for the developer.

Yep I agree! I do find MM really hard to go back to in general but I think given I’ve got 1000+ hours across the PC, Switch and mobile games, I think I’ve done my time with it 😂

It would be really cool to see a proper Formula E manager but last I knew Playsport had the rights to FE for Motorsport Manager Online. It would also be cool to see a stand alone FE game rather than just rF2 DLC but I don’t think it’s popular enough yet for its own game whether that’s as a driver or a manager, unfortunately. I think Frontier would be better off just creating their own fictional universe and maybe having a fictional Electric racing series as a manageable series.

I don’t think it’s 100% confirmed but from the reports it sounds pretty likely and you’d expect them to have come out and denied it if they were planning to market another game next year, surely? We’re still waiting to hear anything from Frontier officially

This is so true. F1M is literally 3 years into its existence and people act like it should be perfect and like it had the legacy to survive if one year it doesn’t deliver everything and people don’t buy it. It’s unfortunate but I guess we just have to make the most of it while it’s here 🤷

I am enjoying it. For me it goes back to Gran Turismo B-spec on the ps2. I loved the idea of building a car to spec and watching it compete with the others with the same driver influence. GT B-spec got the same treatment by fans and was scraped as well. Loved by few but misunderstood by most. The addition of an online create a team like IGP manager would be amazing. Everything is about online, offline games don't warrant most people's time anymore.

Unfortunately it might be what it needs. For me online multiplayer is the absolute death of management simulation games. I personally think it’s what killed Motorsport Manager as I think it took all their resources and time keeping the online version alive.

I’d have to disagree personally, I think it’s been going from strength to strength, granted it doesn’t have the depth that say Motorsport Manager has but it definitely has its own merit and I think the race simulation and graphics are the best we’ve ever seen in a racing manager game

Why do you think motorsport manager gas more depth? The fuel strategy setting raises the temperature of the engine which affects the tire temperature which affects your pitstop strategy which affects your race outcome for example. That’s way deeper than anything i found in MM

I think the race management and simulation is far better in F1M, but I think the overall management simulation of Motorsport Manager is better. Without going any deeper into R&D etc, it has far more playable series and it feels like it has a much more fleshed out motorsport world that has far more dynamic with more rule changes, more driver and team scenarios, calendar changes, etc.

@@thegingrgamr The game has the same amount of depth as a mobile game. Absolutely unnacceptable for a game like this to have less depth than Motorsport Manager. The game also shipped in a very poor state too. They dug their own grave with this.

Arguably less since I’d say MM3 is probably on par with the actual management features of F1M 😂 24 did launch in a horribly buggy state which I didn’t really understand since it’s just F1M23 with more features but to their credit they have cleaned it up quite a bit now and it was the cheapest entry in the series from my memory

That’s what I’m hoping, I don’t need a new game every year but I’d like them to keep releasing season updates if they can

2 more seasons could be 2 or 3 more months though which would only leave us 3 months with no content before the new game, unless they do an even earlier release 🤔

@thegingrgamr yeah it depends but they might do the release a bit early cause the real f1 2025 livery anouncement is all on the same day from all 10 teams so they have way more time to work on the game cause all the teams liverys can be done in one day instead of 1 to 2 months

Yeah I do feel like I’m doing a lot of stuff blind in it but it’s still a good time for me!

Modding was amazing on Motorsport Manager and really kept it going. I do enjoy modding on F1 Manager as well though! It’s not as easy but there’s tonnes you can do with the games on PC

You can’t go wrong with the classics, I might make a video about retro motorsport manager games at some point but I just wanted to focus on the current players in this video ☺️

I always struggled to get into iGP when I tried it, might be worth another go at some point!

No worries, I’m glad you liked it 😄 Motorsport Manager is absolutely worth checking out, it’s still imo the most in depth motorsport management experience you can get. F1 Manager is getting there but it’s not as deep. Ultimate Racing 2D is fantastic for the sheer amount of different seasons and racing disciplines.

Yeah Motorsport Manager has some really annoying bugs still unfortunately but I think it will forever stay that way without community involvement. F1 Manager 24 might be for you with its new Create A Team mode!

I only got footage of the base game as I couldn’t record footage on anything for this video 😅 but I am tempted to make a video on OWM2 on its own which could feature a modded save!

I think it’s really impressive how well it holds up given it’s nearly 10 years old!

@@thegingrgamr Especially with mods that have seemingly been implemented yearly for different race series.

It’s definitely worth it if you like retro styles motorsport manager games or if you are a fan of 90s F1!

Now this would be a game changer! It would take a lot of commitment from people though and I’m not sure the community is big enough to accommodate it? Maybe the closest thing right now is being a “team boss” sort of thing to an esports team in either the F1 game or another racing sim.

The most close thing would be like make a manager online series in a simulator like Rfactor, Asseto Corsa etc. Where in a web or on a discord one gona be the Boss, the admin of the series would lesvr ypu diferent sponsors, upgrades, part and more management things and then upload patch with all the things the Managers chose and open a sv with actual online racing and depend of your sponsors and results you earn money.

I’ve got my fingers crossed for you that GT Manager turns out to be a good game then! 🤞 And if you fancy a bit of some quicker fun MM3 on Mobile also has the GT and Endurance car classes and is probably one of the best ways to play that!

It would be an amazing stand alone game though if any other developer were to make a Rally Manager game, it’s definitely something I’ve not seen done before and would be really interesting! Closest thing I think you’d get from my knowledge right now is managing Rally Cross on Ultimate Racing 2D 2

Have to agree with you on all of them, absolutely love the game but you are not wrong. Pit crew management is the biggest crime in my opinion, it just makes no sense. Thankfully from what I’ve seen they’ve fixed a lot of the car development and negotiations in F1 Manager 24 so fingers crossed!

@@thegingrgamr I bought F1 Manager 2023 on sale by a very low price. And could never finish a single season..... Its really bogus when you realize its a mess signing any new people. Half way through season I always get distracted, forget to check my pit crew schedulle and they end up terrible lol I was doing all right with car development I think. But as I never finished a season I dont really know.

@Ruimas28 if you swap the view on car development you can see the rank of each part compared the rest of the grid which is the most useful thing for me. Hardest thing for me with getting through seasons is having to do all the races as they’re so long 😂

@@thegingrgamr That too! And they end up boring because you just switch DRS on and off at same spots.

@@thegingrgamr I had issues with F1 manager, and it left a bad taste in my mouth, F1 manager sucks i.m.o. MM just has much more depth, more bang for your buck.

I’d have to agree from a management sim standpoint. I think F1 Manager has the better in race management, obviously has the better graphics and the official license, but they’ve got a long way to go to get to the depth of Motorsport Manager. I hope they can get the game to that point though as it would be unreal. I’d love Playsport to pull their finger out and make a fully fledged MM2 to compete with F1 Manager but I don’t think they’ll ever do it unfortunately, they seem more interested in competing with F1 Clash 😂

@@thegingrgamr I didn't even know there were mobile games of MM. I'm still waiting and hoping for a proper successor for the PC.

I think unless the company changes ownership again it’s not likely to happen any time soon. Maybe in a while after the F1 Manager series dies, assuming it does, but I can’t ever see someone making a big budget direct competitor. Motorsport Manager 3 on mobile or Switch is definitely worth playing if you like the PC version and just want something quick to play on the go, it has a staggering amount of depth for a mobile motorsport management simulation game.
