@detailtherapy common knowledge of people playing guitar and cleaning their guitar, there are specific products to clean guitars. not all cleaning agents are the same, do you clean your dishes with shampoo ? brush your teeth with oven cleaner ?

​@@republicofnoobs7437 when you have been detailing for as long as I have, you start to realise that a lot of 'specific products' are actually basic products with good marketing and a price hike. A mist of APC on the fretboard was never going to hurt it, and the pickup poles are not exposed. APC is about as gentle as it gets, and that choice wasn't an accident.

Yeah, works as it should. Won’t be any issues with getting the plastic casings wet. If it was exposed poles, I would reconsider the method.

For the lacquered paintwork, I used a diluted All Purpose Cleaner, which is safe for pretty much anything. I will look into guitar specific products if I actually ever do this for a customer though. Thanks for watching, and for the advice 👍

I understand what you’re saying for the final look in the video. The owner actually added the white ‘Streetfighter’ stickers to that lower section after this, and it helped to re accent that part of the bodywork.

To be honest, I don’t know the chemistry of it, but the only way to know for sure that the plastic of the visor is not affected by it would be to apply some PPF (paint protection film) first, and then add a ceramic coating. I might have to try it first as my only concern with this method would be the optical clarity of the PPF when it’s just 2 inches from your eyes.

If you’re not using filtered water yes. I use a battery powered leaf blower. Zero contact and get all the water out of the seams too.
