    If I may offer a suggestion…you may want to keep your fan on 24/7 or at the very least longer than 2-3 hours. The placement of your fan will definitely not dry out your cabinet. Remember airflow is very important along with light and humidity. Stagnant still air is not good for plants. That’s why all of the videos of other IKEA greenhouse cabinets have many fans. I have 4 fans in my Rudsta cabinet and that’s smaller than the Milsbo tall and I’m able to keep great humidity. I know you’re new and still learning but I strongly suggest you look into how important airflow is. At least one fan on each level is necessary in my opinion. Wishing you lots of luck on your growing journey! 🌱

    • @CasualLeaves
      @CasualLeaves 13 годин тому

      Me: runs and starts the fan 🙈 Thanks for mentioning this. I don't why but I get super paranoid thinking it will dry up the leaves. Will try to see the difference by increasing the duration. Which fans do you have. If you can share the link pls. I just feel the fan speed is quiet high for the one I have so I limit its use. 😬

    Last recommendation is you could chop your plant. You probably have 2 maybe 3 possible plants in that one. I am not an expert, but I watch a lot of channels 😂 one being Alice on YouDontEvenGrowHere.

    • @CasualLeaves
      @CasualLeaves 14 днів тому

  • @LeafyConversations
    @LeafyConversations 15 днів тому

    I am thinking your pot is way too small for the Anthurium. They like to be in much larger pots that only looks like a 5 inch maybe 6? Best of luck with your leaves. I moved mine back into lower light to get the bleach to go away.

    • @CasualLeaves
      @CasualLeaves 14 днів тому

      I agree...the width of the pot is quiet narrow. I had to do an emergency repot when I did this and didn't have any other pot them 🙈 I remember shoving all the roots in this narrow planter. Whenever a repot happens, would definitely want to plan better in advance 🪴🌿

  • @jessicabellone913
    @jessicabellone913 15 днів тому

    One last suggestion, now that you have your pot extender on maybe you can take the stake back out and cut a small slit in the pot extender so that 2nd leaf can rest back into its original position and also have the opportunity to get better light. Right now the top leaf is really blocking it from receiving good light. I hope you don’t mind all of my comments lol. I know engagement is good for your channel 😊

    • @CasualLeaves
      @CasualLeaves 14 днів тому

      That's actually a very good idea...I will try to consider doing this. Mostly I will wait and chop that last old leaf too. All 4 of these leafs are actually 9-10 months old (if not more). Unfortunately something or the other kept happening to all new leafs which tried coming out after that and could not unfurl. So the plant went through a lot. I am pinning hopes on this new leaf (looks like it will be a big one). If all goes well, will chop the older one after the new one hardens. Still many days to go for this to happen 😇 And thank you so much for all the comments. Makes me really happy and glad to connect and talk about such details about our plants. Something our families don't get about it 🙈 #IYKYK

  • @jessicabellone913
    @jessicabellone913 15 днів тому

    I’m just thinking about the setup. When new roots start growing they might find their way in between those holes from the moss pole. I’m not sure if that could be a problem in the future but just something to consider.

    • @CasualLeaves
      @CasualLeaves 14 днів тому

      True, I didn't think about that at all in that moment 🙈 after your comment I went and I checked the situation :) Luckily the part with holes is aligned tight with the pot so hoping that that problem doesn't happen 🤞🏻 The roots have already started growing deep into the pot extender part so I am glad I tried the DIY for it :)

  • @jessicabellone913
    @jessicabellone913 15 днів тому

    I love the nice deep pot you have for your Crystal 💖 I feel like it’s hard to find pots like that in my area. Thanks for sharing this great idea. I bought some 9oz plastic disposable cups to try and make my own pot extenders. I plan to cut the bottom out and a slit on the side to take off and on. Hope this works out for you 😊

    Ooh lovely. 🎉 I’d love to know how this turns out. I’ve been trying to move my Lux to Semi Hydro and from my observations it seems that it’s best if the water level is kept below the root level. Also is your preference Leca or Pon for anthuriums?

    • @CasualLeaves
      @CasualLeaves 14 днів тому

      Yeah I did lower the water level, kept them below the roots. Hoping this works out. The only last time I tried LECA was a big fail - for my philodendron congo rojo and Alocasia Cuprea Red Secret...I knew nothing back then 🙈 even now I am learning with every mistake 🎋 The roots have started showing some new growth...hoping this works out...Not yet ever tried or heard about PON for anthurium. Would like to try for sure. I also transferred a dying philodendron mamei in LECA right along with this video, so lets see, it will all be an experiment 🪴 Do you use PON for anthurium?

    • @blessonroy5668
      @blessonroy5668 12 днів тому

      @@CasualLeaves I haven’t tried Pon yet but I’ve heard of people growing it successfully in it. Considering that anthuriums have thicker roots I might consider a mix of pon and leca and use that. Yet to experiment with that. I have a Lux and a queen rooting perlite at the moment and might move them eventually to semi hydro. Would love to see updates on your experiments. 😊 Especially anthuriums and semi hydro. 👌

    .. The sponge or the nets are from when the plants was made as seadlings at a nursery somewhere.. Lots of plants have these.. Annoying?? Absolutely.. And they don't do any good for the plants when growing bigger, other than make the plant suffer since they can't grow properly and the sponge can cause roots to die when they can't get nutrients.. .. Simply just remove it when repotting, like you do now..

    • @CasualLeaves
