The University of Colombo, founded in 1921, is Sri Lanka’s oldest Higher Education Institution. In keeping with its motto बुद्धिः शर्वत्र भ्रजते (Buddhi Sarvathra Bhrajate), translated from Sanskrit as “Wisdom Enlightens”, the University of Colombo continually strives to maintain academic excellence in all fields of study. The University is organized across 10 Faculties and 68 academic departments within faculties, along with 6 Institutes, a Campus, a School, and 20+ Centres & Units.
Located primarily in the Colombo metropolitan region, the University of Colombo is structured as a state institution which provides access to higher education across the country. The main campus is situated in the heart of Colombo, on a sprawling 50-acre estate, and comprises contemporary urban constructions, as well as old colonial architecture, considered national heritage sites.

ලංකාවේ උසස් අධ්යාපන ක්රමය වෙනත් රටවල් හා සසදන විට හරිම අසාධාරණයි කියල මට හිතෙනවා. නොමිලේ උපධියක් දෙන ක්රමයක් නිසා ඉතා අතලොස්සකට තාම රජයේ විශ්ව විද්යාලයකින් උපාධියක් ගන්න ලැබෙන්නේ. මේ හේතුව නිසා විශ්ව විද්යාල ප්රවේශයට තියෙන A/L විභාගයට වැඩිම ලකුණු ගන්න ඉතා ලොකු තරගයක් දෙන්න වෙනවා. මේ හේතුව නිසා නොමිලේ අධ්යාපනය කියල කිවාට උපකාරක පංති ගුරුවරු සැහෙන පිරිසක් කෝටිපතියන් නම් කරලා තියෙනවා. A/L වලින් පස්සේ, රජයේ විශ්ව විද්යාල සිසුන් සහ පුද්ගලික විශ්ව විද්යාල (උපාධි කඩ) සිසුන් කියා එකට පාසල් ගිය ළමුන් දෙකඩ වෙලා සමාජය තුල භේද භින්න වෙනවා. අධ්යාපනය වෙළද භාණ්ඩයක් නොවේ කියල කෑ ගණහ හැමෝම එක්කෝ උපකාරක පංති කරනවා, නැමති නම් උපාධි කඩ වල අමතර අදායමක් හොයන්න වැඩ කරනවා. රටේ හැම දෙයක් වගේ උසස් අධ්යාපනයත් මහ ව්හිළුවක්!

If you are a foreign student you can enroll for graduate programs according to university criteria and your qualifications. If you are a local student initially you have to obtain required A/level qualification to enroll undergraduate programs. I think it's better to contact university office cz you can get more details.
