I have an original Hornby Triang Spirit of Progress loco with 3 passenger cars from about 1977. I fried the motor after about 6 months by playing silly buggers with the wiring and ot hasn't worked since! I've tried to get it fixed but no one seems to bother. I still have the parts...any one know how I can fix or even obtain another motor? I've been a truck driver all my life and only now that I'm out of work for health issues (temporary), that I have time to take an interest as I'd like to see this classic loco run again! Thanks,C. Yeah pump up the throttle. Its not catching because the revs are too low. Its 2 stroke, they LOVE to rev.

Push the throttle all the way forward after it starts. you're running it in the start position, not run position. If the rev's don't pick up, it needs a carby clean.
