Celeste Strawberry Jam - Passionfruit Pantheon (Grandmaster Heartside)
local girl goes to heaven, fights god, wins
The Grandmaster Heartside is the culmination of not just the grandmaster lobby, but all of Strawberry Jam. Containing easily some of the hardest gameplay in all of SJ, beating this level is quite the feat... and I FUKKIN DID IT YEAAAAAAAAA.
fr tho I honestly didn't ever expect to get here. Even though I beat the GM lobby in Spring Collab, GM in Strawberry Jam is a different beast entirely. But here I am at the top... and I have to say, it feels pretty good.

Some further notes about the vid:
- Yes, screen transitions are pretty laggy for me. I don't know why. Sorry if it's jarring.
- For flag 3, I accidentally forgot to open OBS before my successful attempt, so I used the Shadowplay recording instead. That's why the input display is missing and the colors are slightly different. I figured it wasn't the biggest deal since flag 3 is one of the easiest flags, so I didn't bother rerecording it.
- Flag 4 in general is just _really_ scuffed. It contains me placing two savestates with the intention of learning + practicing the railgun strat... and then I just kinda got it first try (or at least, I never died) so I didn't actually use the savestates at all. Lol! I realize having two very visible savestates during the clip might look a bit suspicious, so if you don't trust it, my F4 cheese tutorial vid has another clear I did without placing any savestates: ua-cam.com/video/p21SfyMJyus/v-deo.html

Finally managed to clear Touhou 7's Phantasm stage. See the annotations (yes, seriously) for thoughts and such. This run was really weird. Certain parts of it were really scuffed (often due to me literally just forgetting what to do, since it's been so long) but then certain parts went unexpectedly well. Either way though, a win is a win :D

Oh yeah! Thanks for the tutorial. I despise Ivory gameplay but how creative and over the top cheese for it can be is it's only redeeming quality in my eyes. Just a question that might stem from my lack of understanding of gultras: why can you not keep holding down during the first four gultras? Is it because of the added friction slowing you down too much, or are gultras even more obscure of a tech than I thought and just don't give speed if you instantly release the throwable? Anyways, thanks for the vid, I can't wait to *not have to play* Flag 4... Although I do need to beat the rest of Ivory still... (ugh...)
Pressing down after the grab animation completes actually lets you drop the jelly significantly sooner compared to just releasing grab. I also just find it easier to hold grab the whole time and press/release down as needed, instead of the other way around.
@@SSM24_ Wait, I might be stupid but bear with me: why do you need to release either grab or down? I feel like holding both down and grab for the whole time during the four gultras allows your dash to go the right direction AND allows you to not worry about regrabbing. (Since the down input instant releases for you). This is what I meant by "maybe it's more complex than I thought". I feel like if it cpuld be that simple, people would do it by holding both the whole time.

I could've sworn some of my attempts on stellar odyssey final were dying to holding down too long after the gultra and releasing Theo that way. I mean I guess I trust you because you obviously know better than me but now I'm a bit confused.
@@yumiaou Just tested, it is in fact different for Theo compared to jellies. I think it's because holding down is a more important function for jellies, so you're more likely to hit the ground while holding down and they didn't want that to automatically release it, but that doesn't apply to Theo so just holding down while grounded is enough.

Afaik, storing the delayed ultra is pixel dependent not subpixel dependent - if youre on the pixel above the ground you can still do thinks like jump and get your dash back, but you arent considered "grounded" and so you dont land the ultra.
I think you're right overall, though I'm pretty sure subpixels can still affect what vertical pixels you end up at when you're jumping/falling, and either way I didn't want to get caught up in the details for a basic tutorial. Saying "subpixel dependent" is probably the clearest thing in the context of what you'll be doing in this map, even if it's not the most accurate.
If 7C's final room was as long as farewell's final room:
