West German P228 Transformation #4 - Final mods and malfunction fix.

All mods are pretty much done except for adding original P228 grips back. Had to work on the slide and replace the roll pin but it is fully functional now. Thanks to everyone at Sigforum.com and to The Rogue Banshee for the very helpful video. ua-cam.com/video/FFi39RRVrmY/v-deo.html

In this video I install a new decocking lever and slide lock lever. The decocker is just standard I decided not to go low profile there. The slide lock lever is from a P224. I am very happy with the end result.

*Obenaufs is good. To extend the life of your boots, it would be great to also occasionally clean them with a leather cleaner. A good gentle one is Angelus Easy Cleaner. It's great on a wide variety of materials. Let them dry from being cleaned. Then apply the Obenauf to condition the leather. Thanks for your review of your boots they're really cool!*
Looks alright. Can't wait for jim green to come out with their moc toe. Credit to lems, but I don't see them fixing the current problems with their boulder boot pattern any time soon.
Did you treat them in any way during these 3 years (oil, wax, etc.)?
I regularly used Obenaufs to condition them. About once a month.

The tip is more robust. How do you like k390? Is it easy to sharpen on ceramics?
Does the trigger bar spring need to be changed out to put the e2 grip on? Some people said you dont need to change it any idea.
Yes. The original trigger bar sticks out too far for the e2 grip. The newer springs are a different length than the original too

Do they make flat triggers for that model sir.
I am not sure because I haven’t looked. I would put a flat trigger on this pistol. It would ruin the Classic lines.
I wouldn't make a video until I knew how to do it.
My only comment is that using grease usually does not end well. I'm not sure what climate you are in, but humidity + firing residue = sludge. I refurbed a 229 I have in 2021, at 13 years I did a detailed strip and replace of wear items, and used gun grease. It gummed up and I had to take it all apart, soak the parts in denatured alcohol, and I coated them lightly with 20w synthetic motor oil. Seems to be happier with that.
Isn't there a tool to put the grips on it would make it easier.
The tool is only for taking the grips off. They snap on. You just have to get everything lined up correctly.

Love this case just got it I just hate the gaps around the flash,mic and lidar sensor it would’ve been perfect if not for that but I love it regardless the willys blue is also out for the 12 pro Max now btw! Great video! 👍🏼
I don't like the gaps either, they just gather a bunch of dust. Still need to decide if I want to pull the trigger on a Willy Blue edition.
Wow all berettas do that as well as most pistols. Most are on the inside only and don't protrude out the top
Yes, what I am pointing out that the Beretta is unique in that it protrudes out the top. I wonder if enough pressure could be applied to prevent the gun from firing.
I did not post the video to show a problem. This is the normal functioning of this pistol. The pistol is working as designed. It is just a design that I have not seen before. Sorry for any confusion.
Everyone else I know with a Nano has the striker block that protrudes from the top of the slide. Does the store you were at allow you to dry fire? You won't see unless the trigger is pulled.
