My chains always wear out, they don't rust. Fully enclosed chain guard. The tires last >5x longer than the chain.

The ligtest 11sp steel chain (long longevity) is the PYC PC1101. The quietest and more efficient chains are shimano hg601/701/901.

I would highly recommend using the tool. It works far better than not using it, in my experience.

Maybe you aren't aware of a company called Regina, they used to make lightweight chains back in the 70s and 80s, like the Regina 50-SL Regina Extra Superleggera SL Regina 'titanio'. All sub 250g chains and those were a lot wider than modern chains!

First! Just ordered myself a X10 chain, any type of alcohol based degreaser is fine for this chain, right? I don't like those synthetic ones that leave a milky film when rinsing with water.
