For Veil of Maya, if you like singing in your deathcore then Matriarch onward is for you. If you don't mind all screaming, then the 3 albums before Matriarch are awesome. I think the old vocalist was much better and the songs were better. Matriarch still mostly sounds like old Veil of Maya instrumentally, but the vocalist has a completely different scream and he sings, so it's very different from the old stuff. Their latest album sounds the least like them. They used to be very technical and had a recognizable sound because of the scales and techniques the guitarist used. It's Not Safe To Swim Today is one of their more popular songs with the old vocalist. Punisher is a fun one as well. I'm not into the stuff with the new vocalist so I can't really recommend anything there. 😅

Poppy and hailstorm rocks🤘, they got a lot of good videos on UA-cam so watch/listen to them because my taste may be totally different doesn't necessarily have to please you. Just a little advice that, in contrary to taste, applies to pretty much everyone, at least if you're a bit open-minded towards newer stuff: If you're listening to songs by a band that other people really like but you can't understand why, then listen to different songs by the bands at different times and trust me, it's worth it. I'm definitely not the only one who has gained access not only to a single band but also to different genres of music this way. Something that's hard to get into also takes a lot longer to get through. But it can sometimes take a really long time; for me it took several years until bands like Heaven shall burn, Mayheim, Eisregen, Septic Flesh, and many more finally clicked. Now I have almost all of the albums by these bands on my shelf and, with a few exceptions, there is hardly a song by these bands that doesn't really hit the spot.
