im 8 hours into the game, yet i never once thought of opening the lid of the boxes so they wont float off. Cool video
Even if you don't disable gravity it's still a necessity for the inevitable UCC failure. Nothing like hitting the brakes and all your stuff comes flying into the cab.
Banshees are fun..
Didn’t expect this game to be so calming at times… soundtracks helps. 😅 was thinking of doing the just in time skill.
I took "just in time" at level 3. Definitely worth starting at both ends for the story.
You're doing well, your videos are great to watch Few have the courage to play at the highest level Greetings from Poland
Good video man keep up the good work
Don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Jagermechs have less armor capability than Rifleman. Considering both have primarily arm mounted weapons, I’d take a Rifleman in a heartbeat over a Jager.
The armor rating looks very close with the Jager having a very slight edge unless I'm missing something. The biggest difference seems to be trading the M energy hard points for S ballistics. At least for the ones I've found in my playthrough. The other difference is the AI always seemed to only bring back half a Rifleman in my campaign.
@@Callonian overall, yes. But the Jager maxes out with 32 points in the arms. The Rifleman maxes with 40. I’ve been a tabletop player for years, and never had much success with either one. Give me a Catapult or T-Bolt for 65 tonners…a Champion for 60 tons, then a Rifleman.
Weapon groups realy matter for ai. Lrms should always be 1st, then whatever long range gun then short range. Keep melee to the absolute lowest selectable. Still cant figure out how you got paid & salvage after an "abort". It should of counted as a loss unless the final objective was optional
Yea I have no idea. I achieved the initial primary objective so I can only imagine it counted that one although it seems like a bug. I've heard about the weapon group order mattering but I've never seen a hard test. I've tried some different weapon groups on the same mechs with no real differences in damage output, but I didn't include lrm's in that test. I guess I'll try the with lrm's in different orders.
Also, if you ever see the Urbie Hero, snag it. 8 double heat sinks!
You always take the Hero Commando. 4 double sinks on it; strip it then turn around and sell it for 800k+
Yea I try to take all the heroes, even if it's just to prevent them from popping back up on the market. But considering how impossible it is to replace double heat sinks, stripping them down does provide a nice bonus.
Not surr if you realise but you have to install the upgrades, you unlock from the cantinas, to the mechs you want them on. Its under upgrades on the mech page
@@CAI8 haha thanks. I remember seeing the upgrade slots in the description but couldn't see a way to apply any. That might've been before I unlocked any upgrades though. I'll have to take another look.
I've also found you need to order your lance 2 or 3 times to do anything. This is because the ai is prioritised weirdly. If they cant pathfind to take a shot then they prioritize getting to the spot to take the shot they wanted to take, even if the enemy moves or dies!
@@CAI8 yea every now and then they do like to get a little lost. It seems worse in the dlc maps, especially if it has a bunch of destructible terrain. The move command definitely helps when the attack command fails.
5:19 Jenner punching is always a plus!
nice lance composition.. early game is so much fun!
I love a flea lance.. it can be really fun to try.
Sounds like the beginning of a rags to riches playthrough. Depending on what happens with Clans that's probably my next playthrough.
I love and hate that hunchback cockpit with the view-blocking but awesome big gun.
Yea definitely not recommended for a defense contract if you need to pick your way through a city but they always hit above their weight class nicely.
Leaving comment for the algorithm, thanks for the MW5 content!
I am a simple man, I see MW5 I click and like. And figure I gotta say somethin for the algorithm. xD
I love Firestarters and Vulcans for their ability to destroy buildings quickly, but I will always put at least 2 medium lasers on one for dealings with aircraft and mechs.
Yea the lack of any farther ranged weapons does become an issue occasionally, but peeling off the squad to take out any VTOLs is usually good enough. Keeps me free to lay down the damage.
nice job!
Always nice bringing a vulcan..
I just wish it performed better. Maybe it's just my imagination but it always seems worse than a Javelin.
@@Callonian I think you are right, the AI is very particular about how it performs in what mech. the Awesome 8T works really really good with the AI
@@monostripezebras yea I think it's going to be awhile before I have an Awesome to give them though. 🙂
Nice video
Javelins and firestarters are the bread and butter in early game
The Javelin especially is my favorite early. Running up and blasting light mechs with 12 srms is so satisfying.
nice one!
I also just finished the vaniila campaign.. I really liked the last missions, until the very last, it was really haphazard in difficulty depending how the AI worked.. if they came up one by one or all at once, but I always had a ton bunched up and together until I realised you could just wait out the timer in a corner on the last terrace
For sure the difficulty really felt all over the place for those last missions. Although all the difficulties feel so random sometimes. You can make it through one mission with barely a scratch and the next one has you limping back with half your limbs blown off.
Career mode is super fun, have a great one!
Nice one!
Thanks!
This game is so addictive
Yea I was definitely surprised by how much I liked it. The planning mech layouts and seeing them in action is very satisfying.
I somehow thoroughly enjoy the vanilla campaign.. props for using a Jaeger!
Thanks. I love the Jaeger. Very effective at putting rounds downrange as long as you don't take too much return fire
*Choke slam him! lol
Very cool, Man!
lovin the campaign so far, keep up the great work! Have you thought of doing a roguetech playthrough?
So I've been considering a Battletech playthrough. I haven't played it yet and I usually like to play through a game before modding.
Have you acquired the classic Battlemaster yet? I haven't yet but destroyed one.
So far this is my only Battlemaster. What's the difference with the classic?
@@Callonian I played the classic MechWarrior back in the early 90's. The graphics weren't bad lol The Battlemaster design was different and obviously have less details. It was always my favorite Mech.
They’re spreading out because they all have long-range weapons and are trying to get out to their optimal ranges.
I just wish they would stay together while moving away from their targets. It's easier to defend them when they are close to each other even if they are further from their targets.
Situational Awareness: Be aware of further enemy bases when you’re keeping mobile. Stay moving, as long as you’re not moving towards more and more enemies. The Hunchback… You were consistently shooting everything with the most armor. You focused legs while his CT was wide open and heavily damaged and the legs still had most of their armor. ONLY focus legs when legs are weak. Pay more attention to the damage model. Target priority: The idea is all about how to remove as much enemy firepower as possible as fast as possible. Shoot mechs last. Kill tanks first as you can quickly wipe the field of tanks and VTOL’s.
Yea it was definitely a big change from my ability to just charge in and blast anything with SRMs pretty quickly. It felt like a pretty big difficulty spike. Thanks for the tips, definitely something to work on.
Callonian, You're so talented! I had to hit the like button!
Oh hard mode 😮
Magistry of Canopus is a small Periphery nation, just outside of Liao/Free Worlds League space. Generally a good nation to work for, female lead in all regards. Kinda like Las Vegas as a full nation.
nice lance!
Very cool
I somehow love the vanilla campaigns the most.
Hello.I recently play Mw5 and never know this mission exist. I only know one mission called "bring her home" and the final reward is archer agincourt. What's vanilla campaign? Where do i start that campaign?
The vanilla campaign is the base game without DLC. The DLCs add career mode and several mission chains to the game. I believe the missions ,excluding the high reward quests, are a bit random. Except for the main campaign missions, your playthrough could be completely different.
@@Callonian so i can't play vanilla campaign, because my game contain dlc.Im curious,is the story end are same or different? My last mission called crucible, which we have to defend secret door and lot of heavy mech keep coming through
@@jokajive I think you can still play the campaign. On the main menu you should have campaign or career to choose from. I don't think they've changed any of the campaign missions they've just added the dlc ones to the playthrough. I couldn't tell you about the final mission I still have a ways to go before I get there.
@@Callonian thanks so much for your reply. I try to check forum, and the final mission is same. Sorry i dont want to spoil you in the beginning of conversation
Don't worry about it 🙂
I found that some of them are useless, better to sack them and get one less experienced but doesn't do stupid stuff.
I mostly just avoid them if their voice is going to be annoying 🤣🤣
Above difficulty 60, you better have an assault mech or 2.
That might be an issue then. I don't think I've come across any for sale or to salvage yet.
@@Callonian that would be an issue, alright. On the Rifleman…AI will always close to the range of the shortest ranged weapon. You can tweak this by designating it as an anti-aircraft platform, or a sniper unit. Make double sure the firing sequence always favors the ACs, even to the point of having on both 1 and 2, with the “2” setting being chain fire
I've seen this many times where you start a mission and all of a sudden it's enemy mech swarm time. this is an old error that the game had back in 2020 or so when it first came out. was fixed at one point but its back again, as you can see. good luck.
I thought I was going to be ok after the first engagement. Took a lot of damage but cleaned up the mechs. Then triggering the next base and a drop ship coming in behind us was just too much.
Don’t know if you’ve tried the rifles yet, but…they’re light and pack a nice punch. Drawback is they are SLOW and produce a lot of heat. Still, swapping out the AC5 on a Shadow Hawk for a medium rifle gives it a lot of killing power. Just a thought for ya
I haven't tried one yet. I think I've only even seen one once, very early, so far. I'll keep an eye out for it.
You are far from the only player to depend on SRMs too much. It brings your mechs into the thick of the fight. The QuickDraw, for instance. It starts with an LRM 10. Keep it, don’t replace it with an SRM. Whittle down your opponents before going into knife-fighting range. The Warhammer has no business being within range of the AC 20 on a Hunchback. I will say you are one of the more accurate players, along with Mechadrew.
Yea I think the javelin spoiled me with the srms destroying light and medium mechs. Now that the mechs are better armoured the time to kill is too long and I end up exposed and taking too much damage. I guess it's time to adapt.
Drop the Javelin. The Firestarter is fantastic for demolition contracts; flamers and machine guns are great against buildings
Machine guns are the first thing I take off a Warhammer. Keep it at longer ranges and hammer everything with those PPCs
I would keep that Firestarter forever. They are perfect for demolition, at least until you can field a Vulcan..5 tons heavier with same weapons and mobility
Nice patience and maneuvering on the Rifleman
I prefer the Kintaro GB (Golden Boy) before they nerfed the speed with subsequent DLC's. I never use JJ (jump jets). Save the tonnage for more armor & cooling. It's all about DPS (damage per second). Only have about 10-15 rear armor. Long range is a niche combat. If you stay long range, you're drawing out the time it takes to finish a mission. Most engagements eventually become close & medium range. I always go for the tanks, turrets, & helicopters first. Leave the mechs to my lance. You're like me. I don't do mods. Only thing I cheat on is changing my C-bills using Cheat Engine, as I hate grinding for money. Got all the hero mechs. NEVER found CP-S, KGC-KJ, MAL-KO, AS7-KR, so I quit playing in 2020.
I really like the mobility of having at least 1 JJ on the mech. It's nice if I can take a shortcut down a cliff and the lancemates seem to avoid jumping off cliffs unless they have JJ, so if I mess up and fall in a hole I'm practically by myself until I can find my way out. Although as we get heavier and heavier I find myself jumping less and less
