How Much Yarn Do I Have Left?
We all love using up yarn from our stash, but how do we know how much is left in those partially used skeins? Do we have enough for the project that we want to make?
In this video, Brenda K. B. Anderson shares her technique for finding out how much yardage she has in a ball of yarn that was partly used. You will need a kitchen scale (or yarn scale) in order to do this. You can find inexpensive scales in the kitchen department of many retail stores, but they are also available at many online yarn stores or Amazon. You will also need some information from the ball band (the yarn label) such as how much the original skein weighted, and how many yards or meters you had to begin with (before using any). If you no longer have the ball band, you can usually find this information online if you remember the name and brand of the yarn. Brenda shows you how with this information, a simple formula, and a little easy math, you can determine how much yarn you have left.

Tips for Adding a Button to Your Crochet Project
Переглядів 2345 місяців тому
Sometimes we sew a button to our project and it looks good at first, but as the project gets some use, the button starts to pull on the yarn where it is attached, causing the crocheted fabric to distort and stretch out. In this video, Brenda K. B. Anderson shows us how we can avoid this problem as well as some other helpful tips when adding buttons to your work. 🧶 Start developing new technique...

You go too bloody fast!
I am trying to make these but no matter how I try the yarn over slip stitch I have 3 loops on my hook. I don’t understand how you are doing this?
Great job!
Ahhh... I love these... How do you resist the urge to try it on? I was hoping to see that at the end hahaha. Now I have to make them just to see it on!
Beautiful mitts,great tutorial

Good morning I would like to know if you know how to do a Grain Square. If its possible can you give a tutorial on how to do it. Thank you
Where can one find the full tutorial for this beauty? TY!❤
Good afternoon I would like to know if I can use this pattern to make a whole blanket. Please let me know. I would love it if you can let me know. Thank you
I love it but too much sewing for me i hate sewing
😊The hat is pretty and the video is very helpful. Is there a video on how to make the sweater you are wearing? Is is beautiful. Merry Christmas.
Thank you for this tutorial so good to hear the suggestions i'm about to use cornstarch and water I thickened in a pan on the stove and we'll see how that works but I usually use glue and water and I plan to sprinkle on gold or silver or white glitter while they're still wet on my gray thread snowflakes and some of the white i've also edged them in the gold and silver #10 threads for variety and plan to make a garland for my daughter from medium and small snowflakes!
Super woww😍😍😍
Where do I find the charts to download to follow with the tutorial?
I’m on my second sock! Thank you so much for the video! It’s a beautiful pattern.
Very helpful! I’ll have to see the long video. ❤
How do you count the rows?
I wish the camera angle was closer to your work. Hard to see what stitch your in.
I chain 2- but this way looks better! ❤
Wonderfull video, buddy! Actually, the final one is called a "donut." It is a looser wound yarn with a hole in the center allowing for a center pull option. A "ball" is a tightly wound ball (like what kittens are pictured playing with). It is quite hard and dense. The main difference is it's impossible to have the "center pull" as the center is deep within the core.
Very helpful, thanks for helping prevent stressful games of yarn chicken, Brenda!
Very confusing without pattern
Hello, All you do is enter in your email address and then click on Download. Here is it if you missed it: tnmarketing.s3.amazonaws.com/content/ccc/Cardinal-Ornament.pdf
This was a fantastic tutorial! Thank you for making a quick and efficient tutorial!
Loving this! I’m planning on making enough of these squares to make a sweater for my grandmother. I don’t have enough time to dedicate sitting down and starting an actual sweater pattern, but I do have enough time to sit down and make a few of these at a time. I’m so excited! Thank you for this tutorial!
Thanks for this, Craftsy! I will bookmark it for future since i have a few friends/family who don't like woolly yarn next to the skin.
hello from Canada
Thank you! Awesome very pretty and thanks for the link for beautiful yarn!!!!!
FYI: the survey was just one question and there was no other space for sharing suggestions.
ahhhh ... missed it! #replaysquad for me
Very helpful

Thank you very much for this pattern and your great video instructions! I love in AZ and belong to a group that makes beanies for migrant kiddos from age 5-12 and this is so adaptable! Generally folks use the Knifty Knitter type of looms but I often need a break from them and this works up so quickly! Thanks again!

My Internet stopped working when I tried to log in on this live show yesterday, so I was happy to be able to watch today on UA-cam. You did a great job teaching how to make these fingerless mitts.
