Vortex Viper xbr
This is a different view of a 40 yard shot done with my Excalibur Axiom and my new scope! It's a Vortex Viper xbr and so far, I'm LOVING it! I've got it pretty well figured out as far as 40 yards goes. I set it up for the 50 yd shot, but then it started pouring (check out the sky!). Anyway, this rig hits exactly where I'm aiming.. Feeling ready for hunting season!

Excalibur Axiom with a Vortex Viper scope!

Havin' some fun with the new scope and then the rain starts up. I'm just learning this particular scope and I'm learning about MOAs. This was a 50 yard shot taken with my Excalibur Axiom crossbow.. I've gotten GREAT out to 40 yds, but I didn't get long to work on the 50 yards shot before it started to pour!
Dec 2014 Deer Hunting
Переглядів 1,1 тис.9 років тому
No luck this morning.. I'm new to deer hunting, but the wind was so bad that I think it kept the deer hunkered down all day.. I hunted from this particular spot from 6a.m. to 9:30a.m. I tried several other spots for the rest of the day (total of about 10 hours hunting) and came back to this location for the last two hours of daylight. This back corner of where the clear cut meets the woods seem...
Seven Turkeys Late Oct
Переглядів 2210 років тому
I STILL have not got a deer, but I got to "shoot" these seven turkeys as they mosey all around the woods near my stand. I couldn't help myself toward the end of the video where I did the quiet "gobble"...
Tree Stand
Переглядів 5610 років тому
Just the view from an OLD climbing stand that I have affixed about 20 feet up in a tall Hickory tree that overlooks Brier Creek in Thomson, GA. On the property, we refer to this stand as "the Sky Stand" because of how high up it is.

These are medicinal mushrooms that are found in this part of the United States and also are found through out the world.. They are used in Russia and China to speed the recovery of chemotherapy cancer patients.
Turkey Hens

Saw these hens while out hunting. I heard them clucking, yelping, and cutting about two hours before they came out to explore. This was just after an impromptu rain on the morning of Oct. 3 2014.
Pit Bull in Brier Creek

My soon-to-be 10 year old APBT exploring the woods with me after a rare Georgia snow. If you look close, you can see his brain just exploding with excitement! ALSO, this was on JANUARY 29, 2014 and not February (as I incorrectly stated in the video). This is in Thomson, GA.
Scuffle Soy Hive
Переглядів 6411 років тому
We moved this hive to a friend's ginormous field of soybeans. We added one of our homemade medium boxes in order to protect a jar of sugar water up there.. I'm hoping that the bees will just love all that soy in bloom! OH, type "ginormous".. it sails right on through spell check!
Honey Bee Removal

These girls were found behind a wall in an announcers' booth out in the middle of a recreational ball field. Needless to say, it was HOT. We vacuumed them up and put them into a Kenyan top bar hive.. It has been around two days and they are still in the hive. Hopefully we can keep them! [=
Edisto Botany Bay's beach
Переглядів 22111 років тому
You gotta go to the "Botany Bay" plantation tour. It's free, and you just kinda drive on these old roads on a certain plot of land of this low country island in S.C. Eventually (if you explore thoroughly) you'll find a little parking area and you'll see a trail and at the head of the trail there will be a sign. This sign will indicate to the reader that, if followed, you will reach the ocean in...
Edisto Just Beachy

Just a minute-long recording of what it's like to chill on the back balcony of a nice little house called "Just Beachy" at Edisto Beach, SC.. I've been going to Edisto, SC since I was in the single digits of age.. At the time of this video, I'm 28 and it STILL seems like Heaven on Earth. ['=
StinkyPete in a Hole!

This is a little red Mountain Feist. He does not belong to us but LOVES when we take him out for bushytails! This is the second time he's pulled one out of a hole for us and I was starting to wonder if he could get this one! I should've never doubted him.. The little guy doesn't really answer to any names, but he stinks up the truck so we call him "Stinky Pete!" Very seriously considering adopt...

Hey I know this is kinda weird but if you still have your Roblox account and don’t use it can I have it please
I love this video
Pete looks like a fine lil gentleman
Dog
Stinky Pete!
My dog looks and sounds exactly like this dog. Kind of crazy.
We really wish we would've taken the old guy up on keeping Stinky Pete. Not sure what ever happened to him... I mean, after this hunt, we had at least 3 or 4 more hunts with him that season and the next, but over the years we quit squirrel hunting and Pete is no longer with the guy who had him. Never really got up the gall to ask him whatever became of Pete. Been years ago now. Those were good times. Take good care of your dog, Wade. Bring him in the damned house. I know a lot of guys think their hunting dogs should be viewed as tools and not be family because it'll knock off their edge in the woods, but screw that notion. Pete never talked about a squirrel, he would only stand at the tree quietly and we didn't mind because he was our buddy and not a tool that needed perfecting.
@@TenshiB I keep him mainly as a pet, although he naturally enjoys chasing squirrels. I was amazed when I saw this dog how much he resembled my own. He sleeps next to me at night. Thanks for the reply!
I agree but Pete might have needed washed before coming in. I adopted a southern hunting dog but he moves just like this dog and is crazy successful in catching a variety of wildlife from my suburban yard you wouldn't think has anything there to get. Joy of his life is his feud with the squirrels that taunt him. I am not thrilled with dealing with the fallout of his successes but if (when?) he catches the taunting squirrels I would gladly clean up the mess. Smart, loyal, enthusiastic, just the greatest dog. Neat video, don't know how it came to my feed when I don't hunt but quite enjoyed it.
nice dog man gets one
What kind of dog
He was a red "mountain feist".
Man...That is one badass dog! Dedicated!
Thanks, man! Sadly he wasn't our dog.. an old friend of ours would let us borrow him and take him hunting. Not sure what came of ol' Stinky Pete... We really considered asking to have him, but never did. ]=
I watch this video several times a year. Love that dog.
Thanks Kenneth! Old Stinky Pete is a mystery pooch.. This older fella would let us borrow him, and even half-way offered to let us have him! The man never hunted squirrels any longer and so Pete stayed in a kennel most of the time. I posted this video almost 7 years ago, and I haven't seen Pete in at least 5 years. I really regret not asking the old timer to let us have him!
He lived to be 14.5 years old. The best pup a guy could ever want and I miss him so dearly. ]=
I have a feist that was rescued for 2 1/2 years now, she hunts squirrels, rabbits, vermin& birds. She even swims wuite well and hunts ducks in ther water. She is the BEST hunting dog I ever had, and my BEST FRIEND!
Guts .
That's a feist right there !. I have a Feist/ beagle. He's the best of both hunting dogs, but has more of a feist body structure, beagle ears. Smartest dog I've ever seen
my jack(meathead) figures of it moves it gets hunted
That dog is a gem.
is it easy to set it up ? How did you do ?
Love this video. I have one of my own and really enjoy going hunting with him. Thanks for the video.
We have a Feist, and short hair dogs get cold the same way we do. They get so focused on what they are doing they dont think about the cold, but it can sure do them harm. It is a wise man who puts a coat on their dog for a comfortable hunt on a cold day.
Well done Pete, well done. I have a Feist that I adopted from the animal shelter when she was 8 months. I had never heard of a Feist. She is the most intelligent dog I have ever seen, and is a natural hunter. There is no better dog for small animal hunting. (I dont hunt) The Feist is an amazing breed of dog and Pete is showing exactly what they can do.
Awesome! Is this feist for sale jw?
Bookguitarguy That was our first season of discovering squirrel hunting. There are many reasons to go squirrel hunting: gives you a reason to get out into the woods, gives you something to do during dreary ol' winter, the dog LOVES it, practice your aim with a .22, food (for a skinny guy, I LOVE food), time with family/friends, in this part of the states you can find oyster mushrooms this time of year.. But the greatest reason is that it is fun. And squirrels have a taste all their own.. But it is good. [=
Lynn Moore I had on those insulated coveralls on account of it being cold. My brother and I bought Scooter that sporty little hunting coat because it was cold and it would make my heart skip with laughter to see her prancing around in it.
Im glad it has a sweater on. There's nothing more a "real" hunting dog needs. LOL Kryst, some people... Smh.🙄🙄 What's his name? TomTom? Fluffy? Is that even a pure bred? Looks like its mixed with chihuahua or some other tard dog breed. A pure bred Jack doesn't have those kinds of eyes, in any of the 14 different variations they come in... I bet he's got his own bowl of food full right now, and water bowl at home, sitting on the kitchen floor, thinks he's in charge of his owner... This is ONE OF THOSE TYPES OF DOG OWNERS. lul. Even if you get the right breed, if you pamper it like a baby and don't even know how to become its alpha pack leader, then you're not even worthy to handle this breed. Go buy a fu`kin' yorky, like the rest of the plebs. Disliked. What a waste. It's like seeing Huskies, fat, lazy, soft... Like do people even realize how sad that is? These dogs are not living, unless they are put to work. THEY LOVE IT. You are denying your dog true joy n happiness if you're not giving it something productive to do everyday. Something to live for. Not just be your fu`kin' soft thing to touch when you get home from work, clearing barely 40k a year because you half a`` everything in life, including being a dog owner. Ya know, gerbils make nice pets. Hell, I'd even say get a turtle. You want something to sit at home and wait for you, yet not torture it on a mental level? Don't get a dog then, moron.
So I'm just curious, why are you killing these squirrels, is it for food, or for some other reason? Do they taste like chicken? Curious...
Becaus, "Hunting* You ask this on more than one squirrel hunting video. You must be sad
why on earth does it have a coat on
Maybe its cold and you actually buy them at pet shops
@@willowgrace4295 Mine wouldn't thank you for putting that on him
