In the Roseanne Barr series (1988-1997), 'Roseanne' S1:05 titled "Radio Days". Dan (Goodman) is encouraged by his wife (Barr) to enter in a country music amateur songwriting contest. While rummaging through some of his old works, he finds one of his wife's old poems and turns it into a song.

Yep! 😀 Except, it doesn't get chosen. It goes to someone else, but he ends up playing it for the kids in the kitchen. Lol.
