That train is BOOKING IT!

Wow! 2 cabooses and 2 passenger cars on a freight train. Great catch!👍
between 0:27 and 0:35, we can spot a 50s yellow and dark grern Canadian National diesel
Wow
Well... that was certainly short. A close-up of a representative dynamo would have been nice. Or even a "here it is on the engine" and a little arrow. Something.
2-8-0s are such underrated engines. Yes, they're not giants like the big articulated behemoths or the mighty 4-8-4s, but they're powerful medium sized engines and thankfully for rail preservationists, are much cheaper to restore and operate, making them perfect ambassadors for steam power in many communities (I think some group in the heartland is working on restoring another one of Union Pacific's "Consolidations" right now).
Wow
Can't wait for them to turn it into a shop boiler
Scrap it😂
So if that’s fast freight, was the flat car of people a cattle car? 😊 (I love riding on that flat car behind 401…..)
Yay yyyy!!!
Excellent video.... super !!!
Thank you very much!
What's the boiler at the start?
401s original
@@mratsfrailfan1894would be a good replacement with SRR 385s.
If it’s possible that is
@@nicholasmedovich8691 there’s a reason it was taken off 401…
@nicholasmedovich8691 385 has more work needed to fix it then 401 did. The tender is rotted from what I've heard. All it takes is money and volunteer hours
Nice catch what’s with the horn happy engineer
I think there was a deer
hii it’s dr phil❤️💋
Thats moving pretty fast
That's impressive, great video
Glad you enjoyed it
How come there’s always a diesel behind the big boy
They haven't made parts for the breaking mechanism in over 50 years. It is there to Help with breaking, usually it's just there for the ride. Big bot is doing the work
Awesome ❤
Thanks I appreciate it

Do you have a problem with your wrist?
I broke my tripod and unfortunately I have a shakey hand
@@Pq0nFilms I bought two at Kmart when I bought mine in case that happens
@MartintheTinman I'll keep that in mind thank you I appreciate you
Nostalgic Sound.😊
Yes indeed 😅
Where is that?
This video was filmed at a museum in monticello Illinois. There website is "mrym.org" I highly recommend checking them out they are expanding rapidly
She needs to be in the southeast like NCTM where she would be on her own rails and home turf.
@@amyreynolds3619 same with a couple other locomotives that the museum has, namely the "Illinois Central" E-8, which was originally a Pennsylvania unit, and a former Long Island ALCO RS-3, also painted for "I C", and their latest acquisition, the CN "E-9-U", which was originally a CB&Q unit! And this is the pits!, my parents paid for a life membership for me at this "so-called museum" back in 1972, and they recently dropped me as a member, for no reason at all, what a nice slap in the face! Guess i will be doing a lot of negative publicity for them!
@amyreynolds3619 Southern 401 was a million doller baby. The museum is even hesitant on running at night. I work with 401 on a regular basis and the cab only has a couple spots where ptc would fit. On the average weekend 401 travels 30 miles in total from all the excursions on the museums property. And wouldn't have enough water to even leave the state of Illinois from monticello with oil and water fully filled. Would need an auxiliary tender. Plus CN and NS don't touch steam locomotives with a 20 foot pole unless a lot of money is invested. Ptc requires regular maintenance and costs 100.000 dollers a year to maintain. If you donated the money and requested what to do with it. It would be a Possibility. I'm not a board member tho just a volunteer
@@Pq0nFilms o.k.............just curious, how did the MRYM get the 401 from Mrs. Sippy or Ally Bama🤔? Wherever it came from? It just barely ran when MRYM acquired it. And that was in the mid-1970s, i believe🤔. And what about 191?, is it just going to rust away?, like that ancient 4-6-0 behind the car shed?
Looks little rotted its time to change into steel beams
I mean it was in decent shape but yea there were a few
