I have a couple of questions: What did you use to connect each side Besta (glue and/or screws)? You use the wrong bracket, ur unit will not hold and anyone who tries to put weight on it by accident can destroy it. It will likely sag 1-5mm each year. The proper bracket to use is a "London Bracket" where the middle part is curved to prevent any chance of bending from the weight of the cabinet. If your cabinet ever sank, please replace it. I also think your bracket used is a tad small. If you use London Bracket, you could literally sit on it and nothing will happen. I will bet you won't be able to do the same with the existing.
