I hadn't realized the pinch this puts on everyone. Federal land, managed by BLM, with allowed 14 day dispersed camping. And Rangers are overwhelmed by the number of people, and amount of trash from homeless camps. And the mess this will be, if a fire blows up, and burns these camps down, before a full evacuation is possible. I believe it is blatantly obvious who is a responsible visitor to public lands, and who is homeless and struggling. The extra stuff, the trash, behaviors and physical signs of addiction to Fentanyl or methamphetamine. Versus cleaner, newer, more likely to be legally registered vehicles, without a ton of extra stuff wrapped in a blue tarp on top. But for law enforcement, this is just a ridiculous situation. They are sent out, and left to argue with a particular person that "it's been over 14 days" buddy. Yeah, that is not a feasible plan, it will not succeed. And all the trash! OMG, that is obscene. I have to wonder, do these people have hoarder/theft/ then collect more sort of mental disorders? Just cruising town, lookin to steal shit, then dump it in the desert? Again and again? I don't know.
