Hello and welcome!
This channel is primarily focused on providing video tutorials for Blender, but I also use Plasticity, Marmoset Toolbag, ZBrush, 3D Coat, Photoshop and Autocad. So you'll probably find some random videos for those programs as well, along with the occasional Turntable rendering or animation.
So, enjoy! And let me know if there’s anything you would like to see covered in a video and I’ll see if I can make it happen.
Also if you use any of the techniques shown in my videos, tag me on social media so I can see what you're working on! I always love seeing what other people are doing. And if you want to see the things I'm working on, follow me on Facebook and Instagram where I post "work in progress" images and previews of upcoming videos, as well as news and information from the world of 3D.
And of course, if you appreciate my content, like and subscribe and feel free to comment and let me know what you think.

amazing video, thanks for the help
I'm glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
great video cheers
Thank you!
Hope to see more plasticity tutorials from you .
Yeah, Plasticity is a really interesting and fun program to work with and I do plan on making more videos. I just have to figure out what my next project will be. Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting!
@roddeweese6402 no problem, looking forward
🤗GRACIAS
I've sometimes encountered issues with the Autodesk converter. Here's an easy workaround if Autodesk gives you fits. Download the free 30 day trial of Maya. Import your files and select File > "Export to Unity". This will wrap everything into a new FBX that works great with Blender.
Thank you very much, I couldn’t find a method that suited me for a long time.
Why didn't I find you sooner?! You work just like I do and your tutorials aren't full of all kinds of extra stuff I don't need. Thank you!!!
Yeah, I can't stand it when people add all kinds of extra stuff that's not even related to the topic of the video. Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
Live or Memorex?!
Thank you for this. I have moved from Max to Blender and I need to convert all my tracks to the new format :)
Great video! Very helpfull and nice results! reggards from Argentina
Hey! Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching!
Thank you SO MUCH. Been searching for that exact tutorial for the past 2 hours. Love you
Cool!
Your tutorial subject is exactly what I've been looking for. I'm new to Blender/3D modeling and this is really helpful. When I get to the step to select all the faces using the coplanar option, it doesn't select all my faces on top. How can I tell what is wrong with my image? Or is there something else I need to set to make this work correctly. I don't know what other info you might need to help answer the question. TIA
Hey, thanks for the question. It's kind of difficult to know exactly what's wrong without seeing your model, but if I had to guess, I'd say that some of your faces are probably not coplanar. There is an easy way to fix this using the Scale tool, but it's kind of hard to explain. I'll record a video to show how to do it and post it in a little while.
Ok, I uploaded the new video. ua-cam.com/video/VycAdjUqz0c/v-deo.html. Let me know if this doesn't solve the problem.
@roddeweese6402 , just watched the video. Perfectly explained. Thanks!

If you like making piles of stuff, this video will show you how to do it quickly and easily in Blender with a rigid body simulation. I'm also giving away the rusty metal material I created for this project. It's free on my Gumroad page. Just give this video a thumbs up and then click the link in the description to go to the download page.
Amazing again!
Thank you Molly! ❤
Didn't know about the trick of typing axis letter and a number for rotation (discovered it also works for move and presumably scale too). Neat!
really useful like your style thanks a lot
Sorry i cannot find Add Ico Sphere in 1:12
Are you saying you can't find the "Add" menu or there's no Ico Sphere in your "Add" menu? What version of Blender are you using?
I've been trying to replicate your problem but I'm not sure why Shift+A isn't working for you? So try going up to the top of the viewport on the left hand side. Make sure you're in Object Mode and you will see 4 buttons for View, Select, Add and Object. Click the "Add" button, then go to "Mesh" and you should be able to find the Ico Sphere there.
That was the most clean tutorial in the world. Keep going.
Thanks!!
thank you!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great tutorial, thanks!
Thank you!!!!!! This was EXACTLY what I asked. You're the best. I'm watching it over and over!
Awesome! I'm glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
Is there a way of bringing the model into Fusion and then exporting to an FBX from there into Blender?
I don't use Fusion, so I don't really know for sure, but after doing a little reading, it looks like Fusion can import DWG files, (as long as they are 3D solid body models), and it can export FBX files, so that should work. Give it a try and let me know if it works.
Hey, I was just wondering if it's possible to take that flat model and wrap it around a curved object like a cylinder or a sphere?
Hi Molly, that's a great question! The answer is yes, but it will require a little bit of work to make it happen. I'll make another video to show the process.
@@roddeweese6402Thank you! I can't wait!!!!!! 😊
Hey Molly, I just uploaded the new video. Take a look and let me know if you have any questions.
@@roddeweese6402 OMG!!!!!!! Thank you!!!! This is SO cool of you! Thank you!!!!
@@MollySleuth You're very welcome Molly. I'm happy to help. 🙂
Muchas gracias por compartir esto con detalles y herramientas gratuitas!! saludos ahora estaria bueno saber si es posible trabajar con imagenes complejas que no sea tan facil de vectorizar como las que se puede crear con las imagenes AI
What kind of images? If you can point me to some complex images, maybe I can do another video. I'm sure the basic technique would be the same, you just might have to do some cleanup on the image in Photoshop, or GIMP or Krita, before vectorizing it in Inkscape.
Duuuuude. Looks awesome.
Excellent tutorial! I will definitely subscribe, it has been very helpful!
Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful.
Looks awesome as usual!
Thank you Molly ❤
How can I import it with the materials?
Sorry but you can't. You will have to apply materials in Blender.

Are you talking about when you try to install the program or when you try to convert a file?
If you ever wanted to know how to make chains that you can manipulate to fit whatever scenario you're creating then this video is for you. In this video I'll show you how to create a procedural chain in Blender using a curve path and an array modifier. It's really very simple, but if you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
In this video, I'll be expanding on my previous video where I discussed basic material setup, and I'll be showing how to add dirt to your model using the gradient node. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
If you're feeling confused and overwhelmed by the node editor and you're not sure how to get started setting up a basic material, this video is for you. I'm going to show you how to easily set up a material with various texture maps and mapping nodes for color, roughness, normal, etc. By the end of this video, you will have a solid understanding of the node editor and basic material setup, but if you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
If you've ever wondered how to create a spring, or any type of spiral object, this video is for you. And not only will I show you how to easily create a spiral, I'm also going to show you how to create glass and chrome materials with the node editor. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
This is just a quick video discussing how to apply bevels to your models. If you would like to see more of this type of "quick tip" style of video, let me know what you would like to see, and if you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
If you're like me and you're tired of wasting time digging through various folders for reference images while you're working then PureRef is the program you. In this video, I'll show you the basics of the program so you can start creating image boards for your projects to help you work more easily and efficiently. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
If you want to know how to create better looking "work in progress" renderings to post online and show your progress as you work through your project, without having to UV map your model, set up lights, materials, etc., this video is for you. I'll show you the viewport settings you need to adjust in order to get great looking results. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
If you like creating models in Autocad, but you're like me and you want more control over materials, lighting and rendering, this video will show you how to export your models out of Autocad so you can take them into Blender to create your presentation renderings. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
If you're new to Autocad 3D and you're having trouble understanding how to navigate around your model to view and work on it from different angles, this is the video for you. I have over 35 years experience working in Autocad, so if you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching!
You make it look so effortless!
Thank you Molly! ☺
I'm having troubles with trying to scale faces. I'm using my Mac Air which does not have a number pad and while I hold both control and press the minus key twice it only zooms out and does not select the number of vertices. Are there any alternatives in achieving this step? Thank you!
Yes, if you don't have a number pad, you can go to the "Select" menu at the top, then scroll down to "Select More/Less" and then you can choose to select "More" or "Less". Hope that helps.
@@roddeweese6402 It worked! Thank you for the fast reply and great video!
