Great job on this solo cover, that tone is pretty spot on! Those mods you did really make that guitar sound incredible! Have a good Sunday!👍👍🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

Nice, thanks.

Why there is no shielding paint or copper inside ??
@@mml42 I haven't checked but I think that the paint in the cavity is conductive. At least it looks like it. I can check with a multimeter
I have just checked with a multimeter and the paint is conductive an also the lid has aluminun on the back
how did you get that slick tone please tell me!!!
@rite2843 I changed the pickups for Tonerider Pure Vintage pickups. Also I use a Boss Micro BR digital recorder that has guitar effects and I connect it to a speaker and use it as an amp. The effect is called CtryLead and has amp emulator with crunch, compression and a bit of delay. In this video I use the same effect with a different guitar: ua-cam.com/video/HAXyJKCazM4/v-deo.html
Great tone!
@@dvdromable Thank you!
Great job! Those mods you did on that guitar really paid off, it sounds awesome!👍👍🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶
Thank you! Yes, I think it sounds better with the mods 🎸🎶🎶
El tutorial mas rápido, sencillo y entendible :D
Gracias
pickup height is always done by ear. measurements are useless. if you can't hear when your pickups are set up correctly, you better not touch them.
In some Seymour Duncan videos that I checked they recommend that height as a starting point but then it is done by ear from there
Unless you work at a guitar shop and you happen to scratch a new one, why remove battle scars?
I just wanted to get rid of them...it happened when the guitar was stored I think
That's a great way to buff out light scratches, much like you'd buff out scratches on a car, I've also had success with rubbing compound and polishing compound. Thanks for sharing, have a great day!! Keep on rockin!🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶
Yes, I did the same thing for light scratches on my car : ) Thanks, have a great day!🎸🎶
Those pickups sound great. I enjoyed watching the soldering tutorial, you solder much better than me😂. Great job and congrats on a job well done! Have a great weekend, keep on rockin!👍🎸🎶🎶

Did you release the truss rod tension before leveling? You didn't mention it.
I didn't do it. I just checked that it was straight in the distance of the level that I used. It covers several frets. I have double checked with a ruler and it seems straight. If not I would have released the truss rod.
I'm not a repairman, so don't take my word as anything close to definitive - do some more research. My understanding is that the neck itself should be perfectly straight when unstrung, before leveling the frets. To check that, you need a full length straight edge with notches for each fret, so you can set the straight edge on the fretboard itself, not the frets. If you start with the truss rod loose, you can then tighten it if it's needed to make the neck straight. At least that's the method that I understand many repairmen use. Your method may work for you, especially if you use very light strings. However, you may get too much relief once the strings are on, in which case now you have to tighten the truss rod more than it already was before you did the fret job, and you could end up tightening it to the point where it breaks.
@@rogertaylor6 Thanks for the advice. I have checked now with a longer ruler but checking the wood and it seems completely straight, if I'm checking it right. I guess that since I removed the strings and left it like that for a few days it released the tension that the strings had. I will add a text in the video about the truss rod.
Good demo on this, I just did this on one of my guitars, it's quite satisfying doing the work yourself, and if you mess up, you learn from that too! Good job, I hope it all worked out for you. A tip: you can also use rubbing compound and/or polishing compound for polishing the frets, also fine steel woolworks great as well
Thanks. I haven't checked yet if it is fine. I need to put new strings and check it. I didn't want to sand too much so I don't need to replace the frets. I used guitar polish. Thanks for the tip. I have steel wool but haven' t tried it on the frets
Very sweet sound! I like your playing🤟
@@ky7532 Thank you!🎸
I've heard good things about the Tonerider pickups, I believe they came in the Squier Classic Vibe models some years back, I've never seen them for sale where I live, sounds like a good choice for that guitar. I have Wilkinson PUs in my Strat. Cool Peavey! Keep on rockin' my friend!👍🎸🎶🎶
Thanks! I was checking some options for the pickups. I thought about Wilkinson pickups too but I found the Tonerider ones second hand. They were unused. I think they can be bought online. Your guitar has a very good sound. Keep on rockin'!🎶🎶🎸
Excellent
Thank you!
Yo para ajustar la altura de las pastillas mando el ampli o la pedalera a la pc y abro un editor, ahi reviso que esten parejos los volúmenes entre pastillas y si la pastilla me lo permite entre cuerdas también
Excellent!

Yamaha is always good
Cool Yamaha, I think it's great that you are fixing it up on your own, that's what I've always tried to do and there's a sense of accomplishment when you fix it correctly. Even the times you don't you will learn to troubleshoot on the fly, especially when it comes to leveling and recrowning frets. Upgrades are sometimes a personal preference but it you are using that guitar as a sort of "guinea pig" for learning to work in your own guitar, than that's definitely worth a try, good luck man, you'll do great!
Thanks! I agree that there is a sense of accomplishment when you fix something on your own correctly. Also I can learn from this. I probably wouldn't do it first with an expensive guitar, but with one like this it's worth to try. I was wondering if it's worth to upgrade pickups, bridge etc, because the new parts would cost more than the guitar itself, but it is fun to do and it would improve the sound.
Very nice playing!
