Wow 😊
I appreciate it! Thank you so much for watching!
Brilliant 😍❤️💯
Thank you and thanks for watching!
The soap water was a great idea, never heard of that before, glad I watched your tutorial, thanks ! 🙏🏼🫶🏼
I am so glad it helped. Thanks for watching!
Recently dropped nearly $500 on an this exact brush, a compressor an paints, does nothing but spit water an shotty lines, thought i was buying quality stuff. I quit
If you’re spitting water, you need a good dryer system that will literally cause spotty lines. Sorry for your trouble hope it goes better for you.
Dope!! What air brush tools do you use?
I use the Iwata Eclipse HPCS. I appreciate you watching. Oh I actually have all the products I use in the video description if that helps have a great weekend.
Why is it always something when people paint or draw they forget to show the start of there work, always an excuse always.
I actually didn’t forget. My camera actually did not record that part so I had nothing to show. I hate when that happens but it does specially when I was first starting out with cheaper cameras lol. The only thing that is missing is me lightly dusting over the stencil. Everything else is there so should be enough to go off. I am sorry if you feel the video isn’t complete enough. I strive to do better each video. I also try to use two cameras in case one stop recording prevent this from happening again thanks so much for watching. I truly do appreciate it.
I've done a couple stencils with a soldering iron so far, with the sheet on wood, but I need to sand it each time to do that or the texture of it messes me up, plus the stencil sheets tend to stick to it. Looked up what to use and glass, to my surprise, was number one choice as I would think they'll break from heat like this. Do you know the highest temperature it can withstand? And does your stencil sheet stick to glass when finished? I don't think tempered glass can withstand heat, cause one of my brothers, years ago, was trying to solder my rear defrost where the wire was broken and busted my window out lol.
I just used a sheet of glass from a picture frame. And I use a stencil burner kit. It was made for stencil burning, not intended for woodburning and has a really fine curved tip. So maybe the temperatures are different but the stencil burning kit does not break glass and it does not stick to the glass at all and it allows you to draw curve lines a lot smoother, and cleaner it doesn’t get hooked on the material underneath I highly recommend using glass and a Stencil burner. I have links in the description for the stencil burner I used.
@@reddirtdesigns7021 Thanks, friend, I googled temperatures for both stencil burners and soldering irons and you can set them both pretty low, and I think 350° is recommended (I need to look again) for glass bottoms. I bought the soldering iron and had no idea there were stencil burners lol, or I'd have gotten that instead. I don't like that you can't put your fingers close to the tip on it cause about two inch of it is metal which is hot, but one of the tips is a very fine, sharp tip which I use. If needed, I will get a stencil burner so I can do small details easier. Picture frame glass is not a problem, I have access to them, and I'm glad they don't stick. Thanks much for the feed back!
You bet good luck!
Clever Stuff 🙌 Superb results - very well thought out 👊
Thank you for that! Thanks for watching!
I just replaced the needle and nozzle in my iwata micron takumi. I waxed the threads because the head leaks, always has. The paint is createx Illustration sepia. I added 4021 after trying straight paint. No matter what, my brush keeps giving inconsistent spray pattern. It breaks and skips when doing a line, it struggles to start a line. My air pressure is right around 25-30 psi. The paint was pruchased within the last year from Spray Gunner. I don't know what else to do. I feel like I have a lemon.
Oh wow, I’ve never had an airbrush that touchy. Really sounds like you’ve done everything by the book. If it has always leaked, sounds like it might be the airbrush itself like maybe something is warped or bent. It is possible to have a defective airbrush from the factory.
@reddirtdesigns7021 yeah. Debating if I want another of the same or something made of Titanium from a competitor 🫣 they're expensive. 🥴 fortunately at the moment my project doesn't require perfect lines, so I'm chugging along. 🫤 i wish I could post a photo of what it's doing.
@@elysegalloway well good luck to you. I know that can be frustrating. It was for me and thanks for watching my videos.
How important is the rinsing with water step? Can you just use a very DAMP cloth & repeat the process several times to get it super clean? I ask, because I've put a faux treatment on my door, & I don't want to chance getting it all soaking wet & ruin it, if that makes sense. *EDIT:* If my panes are taped off with PAINTERS tape to get my straight lines, the etching cream won't eat thru it, will it? Will that tape work?
@@Kman. You can most definitely use a damp cloth. Rinse wipe repeat. And in you situation I would recommend doing it that way. Good luck!
@@reddirtdesigns7021 Thx for such a _SPEEEEEDY_ reply! <thumb up>
Cool. Do you ever use a light spray adhesive to keep the stencil flat/sealed?
Yes I do now. When I made the video I hadn’t learned that trick yet. I do recommend it.
@@reddirtdesigns7021 Nice. Thanks for replying! I just got a Cricut Maker 3 for an outdoor sign project, and so I'll be in the crucible of learning and under a time crunch. You video was helpful to me. (Btw, I'm going to be trying to use reflective highway paint instead of spray paint, because the reviews I read on spray reflective paint were mixed at best. Any opinion there? I want the white letters to *pop* when headlights hit them.)
@@canislupus5 sorry not familiar with reflective paint. If it was me I’d buy the best review options and do small test panels first good luck on your project. Thank you for watching I truly appreciate it.
Looking real good! My only feedback is that you don't want to apply wax and grease remover to your towel - it should be sprayed directly on the substrate, and then wiped off. The way it works is by lifting dirt and grease when it hits the panel. Haven't watched part 2 yet, but it's in my queue!
Thanks for the tips! Hope you enjoy the second video. I’ll send you another video. I know you’ll like if you’re into painting. And thank you so much for watching. I truly appreciate it.

Thanks bro, this is gonna speed things way up , never thought of this so thank you 🙏🏻
Glad to help! Thanks for watching! I truly appreciate it!
Thank you Mr. Red Dirt for your honest review. Question... any tricks you use when cutting out small fonts with the Cricut? I have had my Maker for several years now and struggle with cutting/weeding small fonts.
I have trouble with some fonts more than others for sure. There’s also a way you can go into the pressure settings and up the pressure just a little bit more than the recommended, but then you also can run into trouble using too much pressure. You probably already know this, but always do tons of test cuts experiment with small scrap vinyl pieces. Before using it on your main project. Your blade may also be dull. You can sharpen your blade by stabbing it into aluminum foil. there are UA-cam tutorials on how to sharpen your blade this way.Might be able to sharpen instead of replacing it if it is dull. Good luck and thanks again for watching and supporting the channel.
@@reddirtdesigns7021 Thank you!
Amazingly beautiful job❤❤❤ well done excellent work 💯❤❤❤
Thank you very much! I appreciate you watching! Have a great day
What paint was used with the airbrush?
It needs to be a urethane paint. I believe I use Dupont on this project. Make sure you do not use water-based paints. It will not work. Thanks for watching.
U make that look simple 😢
Took some practice and some trial and error. Hope I am able to help others learn. Thanks for watching. Truly appreciate it!
Mr. Red Dirt, You did a fine job on that head! So cool looking and it displays hats really nice. Your customers may also want a head to store their hat on at home so you better make extra. TFS enjoyed watching you create. Have a good day.

@@dreamnit4413 thanks
Brilliant, thanks, what font are you using in the lettering. Cheers
Can’t remember exactly but I got it off defont.com if I find it I’ll get back to you thanks for watching!
@@reddirtdesigns7021 Many thanks man, I will look now
are these mylar sheets sticky?
No they are not, but that would be great if they were great idea 🤔 I wonder if a person could use a low tack spay adhesive might be an idea for me to try. Thanks for watching I truly appreciate it
Use a squeegee or credit card to smooth out all of the bubbles.
Yes that would definitely had helped I have a cricut squeegee now didn’t have one then. Thanks for watching appreciate it
does anyone in the UK do this i need help with my hobby please let me know thx, great work Red Dirt
I’m sorry I’m not familiar with the UK. hopefully you can learn there are lots of great videos here on UA-cam. I have many on my channel. Thanks for watching.
You forgot the carpet foam on the flag side. I'm amazed how much that trick actually ties in the black framing. Great work
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Could you tell me please? I have a home with the crane edge on a glass door bought 2 x 4' frosted how would I photograph that to show up? I've tried putting lights behind it, but it doesn't defuse that enough to show the image of the crane that's etched into it, it's about 125 years old thank yo u
Oh wow, that’s a really old pain of glass so I wouldn’t recommend doing anything that could possibly damage it. Most people light up frosted glass by the edge not in front or back as much. If you shoot light through the side of the pain it’ll light up the image in the center, but I’m not sure on how you could do that with your situation. Sorry I’m not much help.
The loud music is so distracting
Yes I made this video 2 years ago and have learned to lower my background music a lot lol. Thanks for watching
You said you were spraying some urethane paint over carpet cleaner and weathered copper. What color urethane?
In the video, I am spraying a dark brown over the copper to give it the aged look. By applying the foam first the urethane sets on top of the spray foam and when you wipe off the foam, the paint comes off with it, leaving only the areas where the foam wasn’t with color. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching.
I used to be a cook and we used lace for powdered sugar decorations. I wonder if there are other cooking techniques that would translate to airbrushing.
Oh, I didn’t know that that’s very cool. I am going to try to use food, coloring, airbrush, food, coloring, and do a cake in the future.
@@reddirtdesigns7021 it’s been a long time since I’ve been in the cooking industry but here are some thoughts. Approach catering companies and tell them about your cake decoration ability and Service. You can also include local bakeries. Weddings being the money maker ..potentially. You might be able to take a class at your local community college or culinary school that would help you in your goal. This would include cake decorations skills. Word-of-mouth is golden! You could start by doing your friends and families birthday parties and what not. I’m literally just now beginning to learn about airbrushing and trying to figure out if I’ll be skilled at, it it’s something I’ve always wanted to try. I’m about to buy everything I need right now. I’m going to have to learn how to draw as well as airbrushing so we’ll see what happens. I have some artistic skills but it’s not something I’ve really worked on developing too much or as much as I wanted to. And right now is really good time to work on it. Let me know if you have any questions.
That's pretty cool thank you
Thank you for watching! I truly appreciate it!
Crazy question (maybe). I want to play around with making some adhesive stencils I can use for air brush tattooing for like theater and live roleplay. Like; cut the design, stick the black vinyl to the skin and spray inside the stencil with some airbrush tattoo makeup paint. But I'm having a real hard time finding out what kind of material to make stencils of 🤔 Do you know of any brand or something that is goo for this?
Not real sure I’ll do some research and see if I can come up with something and I’ll get back with you. Great question. Thanks for watching!
@@Leablak I can’t find anything that’s specifically designed for this. But you might try the cricket removable vinyl. The vinyl in this video is a little stiff and doesn’t flex quite as well as cricket removable vinyl and I’m sure you’re going to want it to flex because skin has a lot of contour to it, at least that’s where I would start. If I ever come across something for this, I will definitely make a video on it. It’s a great idea.

Thumbs down for the music
Yes, this is one of my first videos. I’ve learned to turn my music way down lol thanks for watching.
Can I use this same step with the cricut maker 3 ? What’s the mat called u have under the vinyl ?
I believe you can but I’d have to look it up the mat I’m using is the mat that came with the machine when I got it. The cricut air uses a cut mat in order to work. I’m not really sure on the maker 3 but I would bet you can make stencils with it.
