So not a fail. You are already doing a lot of good mom stuff. When all three of mine were under 5 i found a petrified hotdog that had ant trails eaten in it like a maze in a toy box. Yes A toy box. They had a very loving grandmother that provided way too much love and it was hard to manage.

I bet the house smelled amazing!! This might be a helpful tip when using dry yeast. I put it in a cup and add warm water to activate it. I leave it alone for just a few minutes then add it. It seems to help the dough rise better. I love hearing little one in the background. She's already a talker! The easiest and best bread I ever did and still make is in a clay cooking pot. Just got metric values. I use 25 gram fresh yeast dissolve in 520mL warm water. 400gram wheat flour, 200 gram rye flour, 50gram whole wheat, 100 gram spelled flour. 3 table spoon salt, 1 table spoon sugar. Mix everything. Cover for 1,5-2 hours. Fold and press the dough roughly ten times on a flour sprinkled surface. Put some flour in the clay pot. Put in the cold oven, set to 240 degree C for 60 minutes. Can be modified with more flour for a more white bread. The clay pot is acting like a stone oven, the crust is amazing, when it is out of the oven it is great. Just get it out of the pot directly. If leaving in it is getting a bit damp. Wrap in a towel for storage, after cooling down.
