This album is a masterpiece in all the weirdest ways. It sounds like it existed in an alternate future and got stuck in our world. Like alien jazz/swing music.
i used to think radiohead is a smart cool band with lots of things to say. as i get older i realise they're just a bunch of pretenders. thomas yorke likes to present himself as clever. he's not
Why is this album rated so highly by so many music critics pitchfork, rolling stone? Honestly as a classically trained musician who enjoys other types of music hip hop, rock, metal, even some pop. This is the most overrated garbage I've heard. It's not technical at all like mid 80s destruction, nile, dying fetus, cryptopsy, immolation, sadus. Thom Yorke's vocals are weak and whiny sounding, and this isn't innovative at all compared to musicians like Stravinsky, Schubert, Alkan. But, this piece of garbage is the highest rated album of all time according to many publications? it's weak, whiny, no power, not innovative. Even the record store owner I go to often hates this band and coldplay to. Why is this record appealing to people? To me it's terrible in every way, nearly unlistenable.
it sounds like a beatles album with the insanity turned up to 11, like if lennon/mccartney was one person, and johnny greenwood is there. or like an ever weirder talking heads or pixies album. a lot of the merit is from the lyrics, i think. i appreciate the ability of thom yorke to tell pretty vivid stories in very vague terms. the ability of radiohead to capture a certain zeitgeist that keeps roaming around is kind of impressive by itself, but the fact that the album forms one cohesive piece of artwork across all tracks merits all of the praise it gets, considering the kind of themes it tackles, lyrically and sonically. It follows a certain pattern, in their discography. preceded by the fantastic sophomore release "The Bends" and succeeded by the highly experimental pair "Kid A/Amnesiac" it marks a pivotal point not only in their career but in a certain part of culture. Hey, Paul...!

Imagine hearing Let Down, but without the falsetto at 24:17. That's what happened to me. I listened to that song over and over again, waiting for that falsetto. Finally I realized there was something wrong with my right-hand speaker.
the band without the vocals is great. i cant hear all that yelling trying to be more powerfull than those guitars...... AIR - MOON SAFARI...... is waaaay better than this album. ps: click fwd and you can hear the guy yelling and yelling, trying to get that classic UK "epica" for stadiums....
Interesting comment? Not really! Scroll on.
I remember when it cam out all the commentators said best album ever. Its been 28 years and its true.
I listened to this album on repeat in 2001 while i was reading the Lord of the ring, and it fit perfectly
Just an honour to have been there. Lucky for me. This album is sacred <
i ended 2024 with let down and started 2025 through the best bit, it was a pretty off-timed but so what nothings perfect
This is my first time listening to the entire album on its own. I will let yall know how it goes
Um dos melhores álbuns dos anos 90 👍🤘

here from jschlatt, this is good
This 70s prog rock concept album was released a quarter of a century late.
Where did you get the thumbnail?
Great band, but they support what is now an even worse apartheid regime than it was before, a genocidal one in fact.
Todavia no supero que Thom York sea Sionista.
lol...I forgot Karma Police was on here
Great album

"It's just business ... Cattle prods and IMF"
No puedo creer que hayan pasado 30 años de este disco Todo es posible cuando se miente
Quise hacer un chiste Pero ya van casi 28 😮
I tickle my pickle to this album it is so goooooood
When I am king, you will be first against the wall / with your opinion which is of no consequence at all
Go check it out Marilyn Manson's "Lamb of God" song, and how similar to Climbing Up the Walls it is...
Bought this and couldn't really afford it at the time on CD, immediately taped it for play in the car, wore the tape out by summer 1998.
Te encontrare algún día maldito, de la encuesta de estadística :u
I don't think any other band compares .....I'm not articulate enough to explain....
Where is the last song?
