The Lockkeeper's House on the Washington DC Mall is the oldest building on the plaza. The home dates back to the early 1800s when the city was tied together with canals. George Washington was instrumental to planning the capital city and he saw canals as necessary to the city and country's growth. The lock keeper took tolls and kept records of the people and goods traveling into and out of the ...

No. Don’t give them back, clear perfect example Baghdad Iraq, destroyed, looted, museum of some of oldest artifacts in known history.. even then shit man they’ve done great job keeping them maintained and displayed most importantly NOT BEING DESTROYED.. my opinion ofcourse (:❤!

Aside from it having a basement being very strange, Steve hodel has been quoted as saying his father had a secret room in the house that was off limits to everyone, Elizabeth’s case has captured my attention for years now I’ve soaked up everything I can find about it, now this is just a theory but I have a very strong feeling the actual murder was captured on film and may exist still somewhere to this day at this point in time nothing surprises me

Good overall summary. More accurate than most. A couple of fact checks. 1) Elizabeth Short was given the name "Black Dahlia" before her death. Men at a soda fountain in Long Beach that she hung out at in '46 called her that. A spinoff of a noir movie "The Blue Dahlia" that came out the summer of '46. 2) She never wanted to be an actress that's a myth that came from men telling her, "You're so beautiful. You ought to be an actress." 3) No missing week. Fourteen witnesses saw her every day of that week from Jan 9-14th, her body found at the vacant lot on morning of Jan. 15th. Seven of those witnesses knew her and could not have been mistaken. Good job. Det.III Steve Hodel, LAPD Hollywood Homicide (ret.)

That's Mosaic's thing - the cooler the better they think they are than everyone else. Used to go there moons ago. Erwin McManus is an unsaved blind guide leading the blind. He always said God wants all churches to be culturally relevant. He even went so far as to say in a sermon one time that to the question posed to him from the crowd: What did he think should be done about traditional churches that disagree with him on this point - and I'm 100% serious - I heard him say this with my own ears, he said: "They should be burned to the ground!" My question for McManus: "Well, your church is in Hollywood and you've been preaching to that crowd up there that you gotta change the culture using creativity. Well Erwin, is Hollywood's culture better today than it was 30 years ago when you started this culturally relevant preaching?"

At least she's bringing awareness to this cult. Church of Scientology members aren't allowed to let the public know anything about their cult. They aren't allowed to sit outside on their benches, outdoor tables where they have an outdoor cafe, or walk around for leisurely strolls. They are controlled 24/7. They are made to work 8am to 10pm everyday. Sundays they work 11am or 12 noon to 10pm. This gives them time to wash clothes. Somewhere around 70 hours each week for $47 per week. The SeaOrg members stay in these blue buildings. It's the para military branch of their "church". They sign billion year contracts to join the SeaOrg. They are a child trafficking as well. They are separated from their parents totally or rarely see them. Scientology doesn’t believe in family unity. They also believe children are adults in small bodies. Members aren't allowed to have telephone. Staff aren't allowed to either, except high level staff members. The church of Scientology has public members that are allowed to live somewhat regular lives, but they spend thousands and thousands of dollars on classes yearly to move up different levels. Scientology and it's sociopathic and narcissistic leader David Miscavige has 5 pending lawsuits currently. They are tax exempt so they have religious protections which prevents law enforcement from investigating them. They cover up crimes like the Danny Masterson case where he was indicted on violently r@ping 2 women Scientology members. Scientology is in a lawsuit now for obstruction of justice in this case. Please search SPTV on UA-cam and listen to the horrific stories of abuse, destruction of families, people escaping the church, etc. Other great channels are Growing up in Scientology and Life after a cult. This cult is now being protested worldwide. Go to SPTV dot Space for more channels, info, protestors, resources and charity helping members who want to leave or have left already.

Nice job! As an architect son of an architect (...), I hated the house when I was on a trip to L.A. back in '98 to study Frank Lloyd Wright's amazing villas and mansions. I couldn't believe THE awkward SYMMETRY and the gruesome bird-like "mouth": his father was all about anything opposing symmetry! It was weird, just as much as thinking that George Hodel was still alive in 1998 and living nearby where I was staying... I'd really love to disclose my analysis of the Black Dahlia Case to you, but it's kind of impossible, personal safety-wise. As also a film critic, I got to meet both James Ellroy and Brian de Palma in Venice in 2006: I had the guts to ask Ellroy if he too, like I do, thought Hodel was the actual murderer, possibly together with Man Ray and John Huston. He froze and was bitter til the end of my interview. I suddenly started to feel "checked on" by every american press executive over my following years at the Venice Film Festival. I have a very clear and deeper interpretation as to WHY Hodel & co. did murder E.Short in such a "visual" and graphic fashion, but of course my lips are sealed. Hollywood OWNS the Venice Film Festival and they know me and my work since '99: they can do pretty weird stuff against anybody they feel threatened by for whatever reason. That said, though, I encourage you to just keep digging in the dirt by simply, but attentively, watching Roman Polanski's "Chinatown" and A. Hitchcock "The Paradine Case"...

Interesting. I grew up not too far from the house and although I was too young at first to know who FLW or his son were, I never liked the house either. Striking, to be sure, but not in a good way. I read Elroy's book on Elizabeth Short and thought it was poorly done. Just from the standpoint of writing, in addition to very faulty research. So I'm not surprised to hear he froze up and got angry with you. If you can't say, you can't say, but everyone's going to wonder what it is you can't say.

As an ex-Scientologist that is probably the only building they have that looks like a church. Each of their churches are very different. The one in Johannesburg South Africa is a Castle. They usually purchase already contructed building and then renovate them. They are very deceptive, they told me it was okay to be Christian, then once they had me in a foreign country I was steered away from going to Church saying that I needed to get through my Training. I was controlled from 8am to 10pm, its like a type of prison, my devices were confiscated, my passport, I had to sign over all my rights, even my lugguage was kept locked up in another room, security cameras all around with guards at the entrances. I once saw someone in the course room who wanted to leave, they were physically chased down and basically physically pulled in. I couldn't believe I watched that happen. The sleep deprivation is the worst. I almost had a psychotic break in there. They had to remove me fast because I was a suicide risk.

fun fact1: in the Inspector Montalbano series (*), the writer Andrea Camilleri uses phrases in Italian and Sicilian dialect. Consequently it is possible to read in these novels a phrase that derives from the Sicilian dialect and which can be roughly translated as "captured by the Turks". It means someone is surprised by an unexpected event. fun fact 2: In Italy, during construction works of various kinds, the presence of an archaeologist is required by law to identify archaeological finds, take them or at least trace them. In fact, in many areas it is highly probable that there are archaeological remains. Inside the cities but also outside. So they can predict in advance whether an archaeologist is needed or not. (*) "Inspector Montalbano" is set more or less between the 90s and 2000s
