tom is listed in the new years honors list 2026 for a OBE ( order of the british empire ) in the u.k for his services to television !!!
Thank You for watching and all of the comments I heard about the OBE and had to ask a UK friend to explain the honor. Well deserved. Again Thank you
yes i agree it was a great era for doctor who , and i like many of the other doctors but tom baker is my all time favourite !! he is 90 years old now or is it 750 !!!
I applaud your good taste my American friends! Best wishes from an Englishman and his lobster-clawed bio-mechanical man-servant, currently making armour in a French forest! 👍🤖🇬🇧
Thank You, just subscribed as I watch YT on TV I will get plenty of chances to watch
Is that a Zarbi? Seen in William Hartnell's The Web Planet.
It's a Bol Weevil, Enterprise has a statue to celebrate the Bol Weevil & the impact upon the economy & the cotton production in the area. Terry @ Tardis Spider
That's the doctors most op power. Go watch torchwood if you wanna see how dangerous the who verse is when the doctor is out of the picture. But i would love to see the doctor more mature rated at times
I loved Jon Pertwee, He and Tom were the best of that era...David Tennant also top class.
It looks like a weevil.
It is, They celebrate the Bol Weevil in enterprise. We are planning another visit to see the rest of them. Thank You for watching & commenting
It’s a lady.
More than just a Lady my wife of 33 years. Lucky Fella here
Thank you for this I enjoyed it but you did forget the Intrusion Countermeasures Group that was formed sometime 1960-63 because of 'The Shoreditch Incident' see Rememberence Of The Daleks.
Well Thank You, that one did not come to mind when writing, Thank you for watching & commenting hope I have more videos you enjoy
Tom Baker was my 3rd Doctor (after Peter Cushing and Jon Pertwee), but it was when he arrived here in America I first understood the history of the show. I mostly loved his era, and I do love horror, BUT, as much as I love horror, NOTHING BUT HORROR for 4 straight years was a bit much, even for me. So when Mary Tamm's Romana arrived, it was a great relief for me. Learning more about the show over the decades, I realized that during its first 2 years, under producer Verity Lambert, virtually EVERY story was a different genre, tone, mood, etc. It was during Patrick Troughton's run that the show narrowed its focus to ONE genre at a time... until they got SICK TO DEATH of it, then did something else. Like how Pertwee's 1st season, all 4 stories focused on some industrial or scientific complex. I like variety, so breaking up any given genre with other genres is always preferable to me. Constantly changing genres every story was one of the few things the revival in the 2000s got right.
Thank You watching & commenting. T Baker was my first Doctor but I lean to Pertwee foe a favorite. Thou not by much. Again Thank You
You forgot the number one anti-dalek organisation, the BBC.
Your reply made me smile, somehow they seem not to understand the treasure they own. Thank You for watching & commenting
@@tardisspider7187 as far as I know they still don't own them outright, the Daleks are at least partially owned by the Terry Nation estate
@@foreshame7370 You are correct as far as I know. I was talking about Doctor Who as a series. They seem to not understand what they have to me. It's a property that even material 60 years old still makes them money and they treat it like a red-headed stepchild
@@tardisspider7187 same with Star Trek, pretty much Star Wars too
Nice try. The Brigadier's proper name is Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, not Gordon Alistair. Half a gold start for that, but the rest of the video was good.
Thank You laughing at myself for that one, there is at least one audio misstep in there also. Mostly Thank You for watching & commenting Terry @ Tardis Spider
Tom Baker is my favorite. I met Davison, the other Baker, McCoy and McGann, but, sadly, never met Tom Baker. However, I managed to get two video autographs from Tom.
The first story I've watched on PBS in the early 1980s was "The Pyramids of Mars" and I was a fan ever since especially the Tom Baker stories. I was around 11 years old at the time. The scarf is iconic. I also have the City of Death Tom Baker statue that you have in your background. Doctor Who reached its peak during the 1970s plus 1980 season. I consider the Douglas Adams period and the final 1981 season just as good for different reasons.
Thank You for commenting & watching, Tom was a gift from my wife when we visited Who North America. I to started with PBS but the story was Robots of Death & I am a few years older Lol, Thank You again Terry @ Tardis Spider
Thank you.
Thank You for watching
Happy New Year from Scotland.
Happy New Year from the Gulf of Mexico
Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker were the best ever.
A truly "Golden Decade" Pertwee is only Doctor I have meet an Honor back in 84
Oh aye.
Thank You for the comment & watching Hope I have future videos you enjoy
@ I’m sure you will. I’ll throw ya’s a sub.
@@calgacusofcaledonia Thank You
I was gonna give you a Like just for your wonderful enthusiasm about Doctor Who right from the start of your vid mate! I so agree - the Tom Baker/Phillip Hinchcliffe/Robert Holmes period was one of Who's high points which ended pretty much immediately after Horror of Fang Rock.
Thank You for watching & commenting, a great era for the fans. This is where I came to the party. And have enjoyed ever since
@@tardisspider7187 Stay happy 😀
Tom Baker is THE Dr Who.
Excellent video and essay. I would like to add that another very important thing about this story is that, I believe it is one of, if not THE first time the Doctor is the hero confronting the villain at the end in the way we have come to know him throughout the series. Instead of Ian being the hero, or sharing the spot with the Doctor, this time it is the Doctor who confidently faces down the villain. No more shades of selfishness or being in the shadows of his more virile and moral companion. From this point on, the First Doctor becomes familiar to viewers of later eras.
Wow, Thank You for really watching and listening to the essay that is the subject. I hope to make many videos that are a little deeper than a review. So again Thank You for watching & commenting on this or any video Terry @ Tardis Spider
Have a fantastic New Year's celebrations. A wobbling good one this time round. Jelly Babies all round. Fish Fingers and Custaerd as well! Gallifrey Falls No More??? Remember that it is an odd phrase, especially when it was said the year it should have raised?
Thank You I will definitely try to have all of those things. Joy & Happiness for you. Hope I videos that you enjoy in the coming year. Stay safe & enjoy your journey thru time & space Terry @ Tardis Spider
Hello Allen and thank you Terry for this video
Thanks will pass that on to Allen when he calls today. This is kind of you. Did like your Appearance on Doctor Who Guide nice to see & hear you
@@tardisspider7187 Thank you Terry. That's very kind of you to say.
The time Muddler loves the monk. Amazing what the studios did with cramped space and limited budget
Thank You for watching & commenting, The stories & images of 60's Who are interesting to me Terry @Tardis Spider
Why has this man not been knighted yet?
Thank You for watching & commenting Tom Baker is Legend, I do nt understand the system where one is Knighted, but as an Honor of the highest rank to me he does deserve it.
@@tardisspider7187 it as just been reported in the u.k that tom baker will be awarded an OBE for his contribution to television !!.
"What is the point of being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes?" The greatest wisdom ever shared.
Thank You for watching & commenting. T Baker brought the energy & joy of youth to the part. Setting a standard from that point forward
Oh lord, you are making me feel OLD, I started Dr WHO at the end of the Troughton Era. So Jon Pertwee is my Dr.
Thank You for watching & commenting. Pertwee is my Doctor even though I started with T Baker. But I love Classic Doctors
The Brain of Morbius had me hiding behind the sofa as a kid. I still remember that Saturday tea-time and even the fabric. It was probably in black and white, but that doesn't matter. lol.
Thank You for watching & commenting, hope you have good year
Tom Baker and the older Doctors were and still are the Best. Later ones are Garbage.
Thank You for watching & commenting. Yea I agree. While many think T Baker is the best, the early doctors all a fantastic
MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎄
MerryChristmas to you
They used to call me the face of bo
Thank You for watching & commenting. Jack isa fantastic character
I am currently watching every single episode of Doctor Who , Started with William Hartnel and now i am onto Tom Baker . Just Watched the final episode featuring Sarah Jane Smith , it was a very emotional ending seeing her leave the Doctor .
Thank You for watching & commenting, a great project that I am sure you will enjoy. You will soon come upon my first Episode Robots of Death another like so many great stories. Enjoy
It was because of Tom Baker's Doctor that I fell in love with jelly babies.
Thank You for watching & commenting, Made sure I tried them myself the first time I found them here
As a kid I would visit my grandparents in Oklahoma every summer. They had Dr. Who on at midnight on PBS... so I always stayed up late to watch Tom Baker the best Dr. Who ever!
Thank You for watching & commenting, Robots of Death on PBS was my first Who. A Great story & a Great Doctor I think New Who would be well served by getting on PBS or a similar outlet
Man, 7th Doctor as Grandpa’s bat friend Igor! That was the shiznet! :)
Thank You For the comment & watching
@@tardisspider7187 Thanks for sharing it.
I once thought it died so I tried to revive it and in an attempt to make another I called the second one #2.
I raise a weird red creature in a jar with a forked tail. I sometimes play it the sounds from “ Pluto “ It is hummed by North #2 . Your knowledge of the whoniverse would probably assist me greatly in my travels. I believe the song is called “ The song my mother hums “ .
Can I ask, like genuinely what is the point of this video. Im not meaning to be rude but all this information is in the episode
To someone who has not watched ,I hope it is an appetizer to watch. To longtime watcher just a reminder. To me the quick looks are to get more videos a week as the long videos are more of an essay. But mostly Thank You for watching & commenting
@tardisspider7187 ha well thanks for explaining, I don't really know but maybe make the vid a bit longer with some behind the scenes stuff or some extra facts from books or audio things cus I know the actor who played professor yana did some of those
Love that spider
Thank You, for watching & commenting. I get a happiness from making these and a Joy when they are liked. Again Thank You Terry @ Tardis Spider
great content
Thank You, for both watching & commenting, Your viewership is greatly appreciated. Look forward to content you enjoy Terry @Tardis Spider
@ cool- ill share this with some friends- Merry Christmas !!
I always like it when the crew would repeat, the quest is the quest. It was also good when the crew asked if they could die instead of being restored to their youth. Great premise, the 2nd half of the episode was not so good.
This story is one of the first stories I saw. The FX had no effect on me. Baker was so amazing at this point he is the focus, the sets are just to help. Not tell the story. Tank You for watching & commenting Terry @ Tardis Spider
could Mrs Flood have been an older version of Romana; Romana Flood?
Of course, Thank You for watching & commenting Terry @ Tardis Spider
Season 21 / The Five Doctors for me, every single time.
Thank You for watching & commenting. I hope that you enjoyed other of my videos also
Thanks for the Reminder/Realization that this Story has a variety of things people tend to forget about. Not sure in the 41+ years as a Doctor Who fan, and knowing about Susan's status as The Doctor's first Companion, that I actually realized that Ford technically left after just one season. Knew that Giants was held over, not so much Invasion, I suppose with just how many Episodes were produced, and later lost/missing, I didn't have many opportunities to "see" this fact brought up.
Thank You for subscribing. ThankYou for watching & commenting, this is a good story and one I always enjoy
Bucees 🎉
Will be visiting Bucees next week again

Tegan was bloody ghastly and Adrics demsie was a shock I do not count Katerina and Sara Kingdom are regular companions.
Thank You for watching & commenting, you are right on Katarine& Sara Kingdom, but I have a weak spot for Tegan
@@tardisspider7187 I would have liked Sarah Jane and or Leela to come back for the 4th Doctors, regeneration into the 5th Doctor.
I found your video after searching for a moment online. Is it possible for you to send me the photo of Greenie the Dragon? I didn't get any of me actually in costume 😅
