Great collection! Modest Deaux dries down to what reminds me of Dark Kiss by BBW.

Modest Duex…I struggledddd with that one too. Everyone talked about it being gourmand, and like you I get a prominent spicy-alcoholic-perfumery opening. It literally gives me the sensation of heartburn or reflux when I smell the opening. Layering Choco Musk with equal sprays on top totally neutralized that harsh opening and completely changed the fragrance. Now when I wear it, it’s like a salty chocolate covered fruit blend. Honestly the way I expected it to smell. Give it a try! I’m telling you, Choco Musk saved this fragrance for me. I have a new respect for Choco Musk now!

Also, Maison Alhambra’s Pink Simmer Oud is said to be a dupe for Bombshell Oud. I haven’t tried it but if it projects well as most Middle Eastern perfumes usually do, it might even be than Bombshell Oud.

Do you think Bombshell Oud is a dupe or similar to Estee Lauder’s (unfortunately discontinued) Sensuous Noir? It’s said to be a dupe, but I’m curious to know your opinion.

My bottle of Shaghaf Oud is SO beastly... Straight monster ~12 hours

Spraying out the straw DOES WORK. I think the UAE producers prime the straw with some type of lubricant for the automizer. If you spray it on your finger the very first pump it has a thick greasy feel. After 5 sprays it is down to the perfume. I think many people are buying Middle East fragrances, tearing into the box and spraying themselves with pump lubricant and then complaining the scent did not smell nice. Just a theory I have had since I first discovered the 'spray out the straw' technique.

Are you talking about the blackberry & raspberry candies with tiny hard balls stuck to a jelly center, that they used to sell at Cracker Barrel?? EDIT: I think the Cracker Barrel candies have changed, but what I remember, was closer to the Haribo ones I see online.

Is this similar to lattafas musk mood? I hope not, because musk mood is one of the worst perfumes ever for me.

I love fragrances from the Middle East. I don’t tend to buy dupes, unless the fragrance they’re duping is unavailable in my country. I’m currently on the hunt for Arabian Oud fragrances, Ahmed Al Maghribi, and Khadlaj. Those houses seem to do their own thing, not duping western fragrances. I find most designer fragrances banal, and niche are out of my price range where i live. Middle eastern aren’t cheap where I live either.

Does anybody know of perfume that came before the initio psychedelic love?That smell.thr same, l find it hard to believe that current popular scents are as unique as they are marketed as..there has to be something like it already, maybe im wrong. Marketing is so powerful and from my buying so far, there is so much similarity yet it is spoken of as though they are all so unique but they're not..maybe im too unrefined? I'm sure it takes time and practice to develop the ability to decipher notes. Sorry for the ramble

Get Infini Rose by Maison Alhambra if you don’t have it, I haven’t smelt atomic rose but they say it’s a good dupe for it, regardless whether it is or not, you just need to get it because it’s absolutely lovely and nuclear performance after macerating for say 1 month
