Cab you copper grease the plate before you put the disc back on?
That's a good question. Yeah, it's worth putting a bit on. You want to grease where the piston touches the back of the pad and where the caliper hooks around and touches the pad. If you check my Ford Focus ST brake change, you'll see exactly why you should grease them.
How do you find using the can brake cleaner rather than a pump bottle, my work use the nappa stuff, also if poss can you put link in bio for for the brake grease thanks.
It's great man, no issues at all. Great for cleaning up oil and gunk. I do have a pump sprayer so should bulk by my brake fluid but the cans work great. I've added the grease etc to my video bios 😁
Also If you don't have a piston wind back tool you can always use plumbers wrench.
Great tip man, yes you can! Or anything that'll compress the piston
I’m a good mechanic because I put stripped not essential screws in that will 100% be a problem for the next guy 😂
This is essential 🤣
Add some anti-seize or grease to those screws, to keep corrosion out of the threads.
@@BlackEpyon definitely this, although if you don't tighten them too much they should always come off quite easily
Rotor set screws are only installed on the vehicle for factory assembly I have never used those and I've gone through four vehicles neither has my father or anyone else I have known who works on breaks not even my co-workers and we all work for an AutoZone store they're not a necessity to your vehicle or your brake system they're literally there just to keep the rotors on the wheel hub while it's going through the assembly process
@@daypidsworld4047 exactly, not everyone knows this but you don't even have to use them. They don't do anything to your braking, just there to help keep the disc up whilst you install everything
I dont think it make a terrible mechanic if they tighten them down, most just need to be taught. But good video. Dont need to down people. Been a mechanic my whole life and im a aircraft mechanic by trade. Its a really big area where a lot of people just need a little instruction.
@@aloha-rob if they're too tight, the next mechanic will have trouble getting them off, or they may snap (its happened to me). The main teaching though is they're not important. You can even install the discs without them
Гайку припода зафиксируй лучше
I agree buddy 😇
I just replaced my front brakes and rotors a few months ago and now there squeaking ago. Is that common or could something with my wheels be wrong?
Do u drive on a lot of dirt roads? Did u get ceramic brakes?
Cheap discs/pads can cause noise, also not greasing the slide pins properly, also dirty inbetween the discs and pads. Could also be the brake dust shield behind rubbing against the disc
You should invest in getting ratchet spanners it will help you in tight spaces, when removing brake pads and carrier.
I did actually buy a set not too long ago. Used it a few times but I sometimes forget. You're right though they're amazing
Does using lug nuts make me a bad mechanic?
Yeah, especially if you don't wear orange gloves like me 😂👌
I forgot to mention that I also cross thread them as well
A+++ mechanic 😏
I hammer them and use red loctite, I’m a HORRIBLE mechanic!
Absolute savagery 😂
Very informative once again! It makes the job look easy when you can see a step by step process! Well done Dev ❤

so the service consists of changing air filter, cabin filter changing engine oil and oil filter and no more ?
@@drew661000 that's right, you only really need to change the spark plugs if the engine is misfiring, or if they haven't been changed in a very long time. This is a fairly low mileage engine that runs sweet. As a side note, the 1.4 petrol engine in this video has a DSI engine that uses 8 spark plugs (2 per cylinder). If anyone does need to change them!
Don't forget to put the brake fluid reservoir cap back on!
